’ COMMUNITY HELPERS’

Ms. Sarita Goja, wherein Grade 2

students of KCIS participated in

COMMUNITY HELPERS

ENACTMENT with great

enthusiasm and excitement. They

dressed as doctors, cleaners, police

men, watchmen, sweeper,

gardener etc. to pay tribute to all

these community helpers who are

actually doing their work

religiously through this time of

PANDEMIC. Through this activity

the importance, respect and value

of Community helpers was

explained and inculcated among

the children.

ACTIVITY ON-
’THE CHAPTER DHARMA KA ADAR’
Our relation is not with caste and
religion.
We are true Indians; we do not
know discrimination.
Students of KC International School
grade 9' B ' and ' C ' performed an
activity based on their textbook's
text ′′ Dharma Ka Adar ′′ under the
supervision of their Hindi teacher
Ms. Savita Sharma. In which all the
students proved that they are true
Indians through their various
pictures and articles. He also
depicted the mood of some selfish
people working on the ′′ guise of
religion through his pictures.

‘HALLOWEEN CELEBRATION’
The KCIS Super-kids Wing
celebrated Halloween today
with great elation. To make the
festival a memorable one a
‘Fancy Dress Competition’ was
hosted for the little bundles of
joy. The children stunned the
audience with their spooky
make-up/ costumes and quirky
expressions. The vampires,
Jack-o-lanterns, bats, Dracula’s,
Witches and fairies filled-up
the entire ambience with a
chilling yet exhilarating wave
throughout the activity.

In order to celebrate
Halloween Festival Monster
Bash was organised in which
various activities like Fancy
Dress for Grade I , II and Mask
Making for Grade III were
conducted on 31 October
2020. Children participated
with great zeal and enthusiasm
and enjoyed to their fullest. It
also helped them to use their
creativity and imagination.

‘NATIONAL UNITY DAY’
The birth anniversary of Sardar
Vallabhai Patel is being observed as
Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity
Day) on 31st October 2020. The
occasion provides us an opportunity to
re-affirm the inherent strength and
resilience of our nation to withstand the
actual and potential threats to the
unity, integrity and security of our
country
In keeping with the tradition, the admin
staff of KC International School
organised a seminar to celebrate the
National Unity Day. An Oath taking
ceremony was held wherein, all the
admins of different departments and
the general staff took part. Principal
KCIS, Ms. Anupama Sinha, Col. S.K Singh
and Mr. Sham Singh along with the
other managing departments were also
present to grace the occasion. They all
pledged to spread the message of
integrity and internal security of the
nation.

CELEBRATED BY STUDENTS’

The birth anniversary of *Sardar
Vallabhbhai Patel* is being
observed as ‘ *Rashtriya Ekta
Diwas ‘National Unity Day’ on 31
October 2020.*
As per directed by CBSE, KCIS
organised many virtual activities
like 'Slogan writing /Poster making
/Essay writing' to observe the
occasion on Saturday i.e. 31st
October,2020.
The aim of the activities was to
promote national integration
among the youth and children well
as to maintain unity and integrity
of the country.



‘ACTIVITY ON ART & CULTURE
OF TAMILNADU’
"Culture is the way we express
our tradition. Grade 4 students
performed an activity in
continuation with CBE, J&K
collaboration with TamilNadu,
showing the different things
done by Tamils on different
days while celebrating Pongal,
through pictures. Through this
activity children were able to
compare the culture of J&K
with that of TamilNadu and
learnt their ways of celebrating
festivals. This activity also
helped them to know about
Indian rich culture and promote
unity in diversity. They
performed this activity under
the guidance of their teacher,
Ms. Sonika Behal.

‘POSTER MAKING & SLOGAN
WRITING ACTIVITY’
" To a thirsty man, a drop of
water is worth more than a
sack of gold."
Water is extremely vital in
everyday life of everyone.
Water is critical for ecological
system and the health of
humans. Considering the
importance of save water, a
poster making and slogan
writing activity was performed
by the students of Grade 4
under the guidance of their
Subject teacher, Ms. Sonika
Behal. This activity provided the
students with an opportunity to
learn by doing, in turn

strengthening the learning.

A blend of exceptional
creativity and imagination was
displayed by the students of
Grade 1 during the "Bookmark
Making Activity”.
The children participated with
great enthusiasm and
dedication. The objective of the
activity was to inculcate the
importance of reading. It helps
you discover yourself. Every
good book opens up new
dimensions of thoughts for the
reader. It aimed at promoting
creativity and self-expression

among students.

SLOGAN WRITING ACTIVITY
ON-
‘SAVE WILDLIFE’
“No matter how few
possessions you own or how
little money you have, loving
wildlife and nature will make
you rich beyond measure.”
Grade 7 students participated
in Slogan writing activity on the
topic 'Save Wildlife’ under the
guidance of their S.st teacher,
Ms. Tavinder Kour.
The students participated with
great enthusiasm. The objective
of this activity was to make the
students aware about the
importance of wildlife.

‘ACTIVITY TO KNOW THE ART &
CULTURE OF TAMILNADU’
Cuisine are one of the most
important links between nature
and culture.
To promote it, KCIS Grade 2
students performed an activity
in continuation with CBSE, J&K
in collaboration with Tamil
Nadu related to 'Adjectives'
under the guidance of their
teacher, Ms. Rekha Gupta.
Children showed local food of
Jammu and Kashmir and
TamilNadu. Teacher asked them
to taste the food and use
different words to describe it.
This activity proved very much
beneficial as children learnt a
lot of new describing words
related to the subject which
could not be possible without
art integrated teaching.

ACTIVITY ON-
‘THE CONCEPT OF MEASURING
TIME IN PAST’
Classroom experiments are an
excellent way to keep young
learners engaged and spark
their curiosity around the topic
of Science.
An activity was conducted for
Grade 7 students to know how
our ancestors used sand clock
and sundial for measuring time.
Here in this activity students
used waste bottles to make a
sand clock. Simple blocks were
used to make a sundial to know
the time according to the
change in position of the sun.
The students performed this
activity under the guidance of
their Science teacher, Ms.

Minakshi Gupta.

ACTIVITY ON-
‘Natural vegetation and wildlife’
“No matter how few

An activity of Poster making
and Slogan writing was
conducted by grade 8 students
related to their chapter
:’Natural vegetation and
wildlife' in which students
participated with full energy
and enthusiasm to show and
teach others what is the
importance of conserving forest

.

A Dialogue is a literary
technique in which two or
more characters are
engaged in conversation
with each other.
In order to improve the
writing skills "Dialogue
Writing activity" was
conducted in grade 3,
wherein the young writers
were encouraged by the
subject teachers Ms. Sonu
Sharma and Ms. Sunaina to
write short dialogues for
their favourite characters. It
helped the students
enhance their reading,
writing and speaking skills
and use their imagination,
creativity in an interesting

way.

‘COLLAGE MAKING ACTIVITY’
“Empathy is seeing with the eyes of another, listening with the ears of another, and feeling with the
heart of another.” – Alfred Adler
Collage is an art of cutting and pasting papers onto a paper.
To enrich student’s experience in pictorial composition through pasting different feelings, we planned a
collage making activity for Grade 2 on the topic ‘Feelings My Best Friend’. The students had to collect
pictures of different expressions and feelings from old books and magazines. They used their creative
hand on decorating the collage. It helped them to make sense of their learning. The objective of the
activity was to inculcate the value of feelings in our life and other people also who have a special place
in our life.

"LET'S GET CRAFTY”

Picture Description is an ideal
way of practicing English
vocabulary in all fields.
In order to improve the writing
skills, students of grade 5
described the given picture
under the guidance of their
subject teacher, Ms. Sonu
Sharma.
It helped the students equip
themselves with communication
and thinking skills. It also
encouraged them to use the
Present Tenses accurately that
they had done recently in their
English class.

‘A COUNSELLING SESSION ON ANTI-
BULLYING & NON-VIOLENCE’

In order to promote the awareness
among the students, a session was
conducted for students from Grade
6 to 8 during their Speak your heart
out session. They were shown
different videos and presentations
which helped them to understand
the impact of bullying and violence.
They had a healthy discussion with
their class teachers on the issue.
They understood that violence and
bullying in schools can have severe
consequences in learner's lives,
ranging from low - esteem and
depression, with many students
avoiding school, achieving below
their potential, or dropping out
completely.

ACTIVITY ON-
‘THE CONCEPT OF FRACTION’

Fractions represent equal parts of a
whole or a collection. Fraction of a
whole: When we divide a whole into
equal parts, exchange part is a
fraction of the whole.
Fraction of a collection: Fraction also
represents parts of a set or collection.
In this activity, students of Grade 6
learnt about addition of like fraction
and difference between like and
unlike fraction. The activity was
conducted under the guidance of
their Math teacher, Ms. Sunita Raina.

‘ACTIVITY TO KNOW MORE ABOUT

TAMILNADU’

“Art &Culture” are the ways we
express our tradition.
Grade 1-3 students did craft activity in
continuation with Tamil Nadu
showing craft by Tamils.
Students of Grade 1 use coconut
shells to make artefacts.
Grade 2 students did Kurumba
painting
Grade 3 students made Rice grain
jewellery.
This activity helped them to know
about Indian craft & promote unity in
diversity. They performed this activity
under the guidance of their teacher,
Ms. Meenakshi Anand

ACTIVITY ON –
‘THE CONCEPT OF Solubility’

Solubility is a property referring to the
ability for a given substance, the
solute, to dissolve in a solvent. The
resulting solution is called a saturated
solution.
To make our superkids understand the
'Solubility', an activity was conducted
for the students of Grade 5 under the
supervision and guidance of EVS
teacher Ms. Sakshi Sharma. She
taught them about different solutes
and solvents using the material in
hand. Children had shown great
excitement while doing this Solubility
Testing.

ACTIVITY ON-
‘THE FUNCTIONS OF DIFFERENT
BEAKS OF BIRDS.’

"Birds are the most accomplished
aeronauts the world has ever seen."
And a bird's beak is used for eating,
fighting, grooming and many other
things. Beaks on different types of
birds can vary in size, shape and
colour.
So, in order to understand the
functions of different beaks of birds;
students of Grade 4 performed an
activity under the guidance of their
EVS teacher, Ms. Suvidha Sharma.
Children performed the activity with
great zeal while being evangelistic in
nature.

‘ART INTEGRATED LEARNING’
“Art Integrated Learning (AIL) is a
learning model which is based on
learning 'through the arts' and
'with the arts. It is a process
where art becomes the medium
of learning, a key to
understanding concepts within
any subject of the curriculum"
An activity was conducted by the
EVS teacher Ms. Sakshi Sharma
to make the students learn while
doing art work. Hence students
of Grade 5 have learned facts
about water by drawing it on an
A4 size sheet. In this activity, they
have learnt about various
sources of water, amount of
potable water left on the earth,
stepwells (boalis), waterwheels
etc.

KCIS CELEBRATED DIWALI MAHOTASAV

The Teachers of KCIS
performed pooja on the
occassion of Deepawali. The
ambience was filled with the
aroma of yagya and
enchanting of the mantras.
The heads of the
department along with the
teachers prayed for the well
being and prosperity of all.

An early step in understanding numbers and letters is
to recognize their shape.
To make the students familiar with the shapes, the
Activity- ‘Hunt for different shapes all around ' was
conducted by students of Grade I under the guidance
of Math teacher, Ms. Swati Langer. The students
collected objects of different shapes, shared and
discussed in the class and enjoyed learning with fun.

ACTVITY ON- ‘THE CONCEPT OF PICTORIAL
VERBS’
Verbs are very important for language
development as they allow children to
start building sentences. The choice of
verb determines the grammatical form in
a sentence.
In order to enhance the Reading, Writing
and Speaking skills, an activity- 'Pictorial
Verbs' was conducted in Grade 3 under
the guidance of English teachers, Ms.
Sonu Sharma and Ms. Sunaina Kachroo.
The students represented verbs through
pictures and enjoyed learning with fun.

ACTIVITY ON-
’THE CONCEPT OF PAST TENSE’

The past is important. It's where
we're all from.
Past Tenses allow the writers to
jump around the timeline of the
story. Because of the nature of
the Past Tense, we are in a much
stronger position to paint the
whole picture of an event
/incident.
Students of Grade 5 used Past
Tenses to describe an incident
and also used their creativity to
paint their story. It was done
under the guidance of the
English teacher, Ms. Sonu
Sharma. It helped the students
enhance their grammatical skills
and use the tenses with
accuracy.

ACTIVITY ON-
‘THE CONCEPT OF FIRST AID’

Heroes save lives and we all are heroes in
ourselves!! That is always our motto.
This year, doctors have been proven to be
heroes. First aid is for everyone,
everywhere. To promote it, KCIS Grade II
children performed an activity making of
first aid box under the guidance of Ms.
Rekha Gupta. In this activity, children came
to know about different things related to
first aid box and how to use these things in
real.

‘FIT INDIA SCHOOL WEEK ’
On 20 August 2015, the Honourable Prime Minister of India, launched nationwide "Fit India Movement" which was aimed
to encourage people to inculcate physical activity and sport in the everyday lives and daily routine.
To take this mission forward, CBSE had communicated, each year a total of 06 working days during the THIRD and
FOURTH WEEKS in November will be celebrated as “Fit India School Week” in all schools.
Setting this initiative into motion, KC International School today, started with the weeklong celebrations of 'Fit India
School Week'

ACTIVITY ON- ‘CONSTITUTION DAY’
Constitution Day, also known as National Law Day, is celebrated in India on 26 November every year to commemorate the
adoption of the Constitution of India.
This year, on the occasion, the students of KC International School took the opportunity to take the Oath ceremony to
mark the day. They, along with their teachers took the pledge to abide by the law.

ACTIVITY ON –’MAKING AN ARTIFICIAL AQUARIUM’
Learning through activities has always been a source of developing creativity and imagination among children. Students
of Grade 3 were engaged in the activity of making an artificial aquarium under the guidance of the subject teachers Ms.
Sonika Behal and Ms. Rekha Gupta wherein, students were guided to make an artificial aquarium using the material
available at home. The students used their imaginative skills and knowledge to learn through this fun activity. It helped
them to learn about different creatures that live in water in addition to learning to be united through one 'fish story'.

ACTIVITY ON –’CONSTITUTION DAY’
" I measure the progress of a community by the degree of progress which women have achieved."
These words remind us of the FATHER OF OUR CONSTITUTION “, DR. B.R. AMBEDKAR, who along with other great men,
burnt the candle at both the ends to draft the constitution of our sovereign democratic republic. On this constitution
day, our Grade 11 (Humanities) under the supervision of Ms. RAJNI SHARMA (PGT Political science) paid tribute to these
visionaries by discussing our constitution and its core provisions. The class was divided into three groups with each
student participating with a great spirit of vim and vigour. I'm quite sure that at the end of the day, each student was
filled with a sense of pride for our constitution and the thoughtful leaders who have gone the extra miles for the interest
of their nation and its people.

ACTIVITY ON – ’ ENGLISH SEA ACTIVITY ’

An English SEA Activity 'Junior Scientists' for class VII was conducted by Ms. Seema Bali.The students were felicitated to
make something innovative and creative with the waste material available at home. The activity was also given a tag
'Best Out of Waste'.
Students came up with wonderful ideas and made beautiful objects like robot, lighting lamp, wind vane, flower vases etc.
All the students were so excited while doing the activity and took it as a challenge for themselves and successfully
created mind-blowing things.

ACTIVITY ON – ‘CHARACTER DEPICTION’

Chand Babu's character depiction was presented very attractively by the students of Grade 9 in the project
work today. Through this lesson students were made aware that everything in this world is made by God
whether it is attractive or distractive, so we should not mock them. He completed his work chaired by his
teacher Mrs. Ranju Sharma.

ACTIVITY ON – ‘THE CONCEPT OF PERIMETER’

Perimeter is the shortest distance around a shape. If we walk along the sides of a shape, then the total distance travelled
is its perimeter. This is the great way to introduce perimeter without introducing the actual formulas right away. Students
can simply count the sides, which gets them ready for the next step.
Grade 6 Students have done a wonderful job while performing the activity where they learned about Perimeters in a
fulfilled method.

ACTIVITY ON – ’THE CONCEPT OF STATISTICS’
Statistics is the study that deals with the collection and analysis of data. It is mostly used to keep records, calculate
probabilities, and provide knowledge. Basically, it helps us understand the world a little bit better through numbers and
other quantitative information.
Grade 10 students have done a wonderful job while performing the activity where they learned graphically proved Mode.
All students actively participated in the activity under the guidance of their Math teacher Ms. Arpana Dogra.

ACTIVITY – ‘TO FIND THE DIRECTION OF WIND’
Science impacts many aspects of our lives. Simply put, without it, we wouldn’t be enjoying many of the things that make
our modern world possible. From the houses that we live in, the food that we eat, the cars that we drive, to our favourite
electronic gadgets, Science and the technologies it has spawned, make our lives easier.
The students from Grade 7 put their efforts to make an instrument used for finding the direction of wind, under the
guidance of their science teacher Ms. Minakshi Gupta.

ACTIVITY – ‘HOUSES THEN AND NOW' ’
We give our heart and soul in building a house. And eventually that house becomes the dream home of your life.
New homes are typically more energy efficient than older houses, having been built with newer building materials, better
insulation, and better facilities. So in order to know the difference between old house and new house students of Grade 4
did an activity 'Houses then and now' in which they drew both the types of houses and also discussed about the facilities
that are available in modern houses and were not available in the traditional houses.

‘TIME MANAGEMENT ’
Without mathematics, there’s nothing you can do...
Students of Grade 4 made an hourly timetable under the guidance of Maths teacher Ms. Vishali Fotedar so that they
could come to know how much time they take to complete different task in a day. By this activity, they could realise how
much time do they devote in their studies and other activities. Children enjoyed this activity a lot.
