The concept of analysis and critical views on Green Gold - bamboo eco system from the writer in relation to the country’s
bamboo industry scenario. There is a need for a close integration among the ministries and relevant departments to utilise
bamboo as a rewarding national agenda.

Conclusion
In conclusion, we can see the diversity and usability of the plant
named bamboo. This bamboo is a plant from a grass family that is easily available in
this country. Bamboo can be easily utilised and made into a variety of equipment such as
cooking utensils, jewellery, furniture and also for construction. This plant also provides a
lot more oxygen than other types of plants. Categorised as a versatile plant, bamboo
has strength that matches that of iron, it grows fast and is sustainable where it can be
recycled quickly. Having so many advantages; it is called the ‘Green Gold’ due to its many
uses.
Thanks to all who are involved directly and indirectly in the successful colaboration of
this book, may it benefit and give a little motivation to the community of not missing the
opportunity to used bamboo as a unique material created by the Greatest Creator.

Author’s Biography ‘zaff taib’
Associate Professor Idr Dr. Mohd Zafrullah Haji Mohd Taib was born in Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM)
Kepong, Selangor on 9 January 1969. He received an early education at Sekolah Kebangsaan Kepong (FRIM) and
St. John Kuala Lumpur as well as Sekolah Teknik Tuanku Jaafar, Seremban. Dr. Mohd Zafrullah received a Diploma
in Internal Design and Dean-list from ITM in 1991. In 1992-1994, he was directly accepted to further study in
Master’s degree in Interior Design at De Montfort University, Leicester United Kingdom. He was awarded the Doctor
of Philosophy of Architecture from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in 2011. He is currently the Deputy Director of
the Creative and Technology Media Hub (CMT Hub, UiTM) and a lecturer (Associate Professor) at the Faculty of
Architecture, Planning and Survey (FSPU), UiTM. He is also a professional member of Malaysian Interior Designers
(M40-MIID) and Malaysian Architecture Board (LAM ID / M58).
He writes in a series of international journals and paperwork in sustainable design, Islamic architecture, museology
as well as hospitality and design. He was appointed as a senior designer, design manager, chairman of the Interior
Design Textbook Quality at the Ministry of Education Malaysia, book writer for Dewan Bahasa Pustaka, and wtiter
and designer for CMT Hub books. He also became an external examiner at several universities, invited as speakers
on TV programs such as al- Hijrah, the advisory panel and design jury, Journal reviewer, examiner and supervisor for
Post-Graduate of Degree & PhD Programs, panel member of Accreditation Committee Architecture Board of Malaysia
(MAPSM) and Malaysia Quality Assurance (MQA).
Since childhood, He has interest in nature and was exposed to the forest living environment. In primary school, the
writer was the head of the boyscout, member of the FRIM hiking team and mountain climbing enthusiast. He banked
on the natural environment museum interior design and wooden furniture design for his Diploma Final Project. While
working at UiTM, he was the green chairperson pro temp for FSPU and currently he is an active member of Malaysia
Bamboo Society (MBS). His experience in the interior designing of the government and private projects includes
corporate, hospitality, museums and commercial designs such as Istana Budaya, Bank Islam, Agro Bank, Public Bank,
Royal Seri Menanti Museum, Seremban Museum, Malaysia Nuclear Centre, KPT Special Lobby, SIRIM projects and
others. The highest award received are UiTM 2008 young researcher and the National Intellectual Property Award
2008. He also won some innovation awards at IID UiTM, Creator (2008), ITEX (2007), MTE (2008) and furniture
design patents, and granted the UiTM Excellent Service Award in 2008 and 2014.
