had acquired 106.2 Big FM from Zee Network in January this year and added two more popular frequencies – 107.1
and 97.8 – to our portfolio. The FM stations, previously operated by Shock Middle East, have been rebranded as Luv and
Beat FM, and will be headed by our Business Head, Sunny Ahuja and Program Director, a well-known radio veteran Digby
Taylor in Dubai.
We thought our listeners of 104.9FM FunAsia Radio would be interested to know what the contents of the stations are.
Beat 97.8 FM is a dance music radio station, with the brand position #1 for dance. The radio station is the only platform
in the region that hosts top international DJs and promotes dedicated content from local talents.

thing. I don’t even want to sit and think where
the last 10 years went, I look forward to all good
things coming my way because I want to make
sure I work harder and not get complacent.”

Filmmaker Maqbool Khan, who will make his
Bollywood debut with the film, Khaali Peeli, says,
“I am happy that the film has come out exactly the
way I have seen Mumbai in my years of growing
up as an individual.”
Khaali Peeli features Ananya Panday as a young
woman on the run who ends up in Ishaan
Khatter’s taxi.

He added that Mumbai plays an important
role in the storyline. “It’s a fun Bollywood
commercial entertainer that has action,
romance, humor and thriller
elements in it. I think this film will
take us back to the time of old
Mumbai, which was known as
Bombay in the nineties. We have

tried to show the underbelly of
Mumbai in the film. In fact, the
title of the film is typical Mumbai
slang and all characters of the
film including Ananya and
Ishaan’s characters have a
certain Mumbaiya tone and
mannerism. The film has the
nineties vibe of Mumbai yet
we have tried to present it in
a contemporary setup,” said
the filmmaker.

Much impressed with his lead team, Maqbool Khan
stated, “Ishaan and Ananya are young, energetic,
and smart actors to work with. Ishaan has performed
all his stunts himself, no doubles were used. Ananya
also did her own action scenes. She is very polished
and young. For this role, I wanted someone
who was rustic, who can deliver the Mumbai
language and she invested in a workshop
for it. Everyone on the sets would speak to

her in the colloquial Mumbai language and
not English. It was a blessing to work with
them.” Narrating an interesting incident
from the shoot, Maqbool Khan added,
“Ishaan and Anaya are very punctual and
dedicated actors. We had to request 4000-
5000 people to empty a lane in Mumbai
for a particular shot. And both these actors
were on time. If not for Ishaan and Ananya,
it would have been very difficult for me to
complete this film.”


While Ananya worked on her language,
Ishaan put on some muscle for his rustic
cab driver character. “Ishaan had to look
like a macho young man and I wanted to
break his boyish charm. He worked hard
on his body and put on muscle-mass of 10-
11 kilos without any supplements,” stated
Maqbool. Interestingly, the filmmaker always
wanted to cast Ishaan and Ananya. “I had
Ishaan in my mind when we were considering
actors to narrate the script to. He loved the
idea and jumped on it immediately. As for
Ananya, I had seen ‘Student of the Year 2’
and she had impressed me with her comic
timing. She took a little while to say yes
because she was a bit apprehensive, but
soon came on board.”

Emraan Hashmi is a merciless crime lord in Harami


The makers released the trailer of Emraan Hashmi-starrer Harami. In the trailer,
we see a group of orphaned teenage thieves who pick pockets for a living. They
are led by an English-speaking crime lord, played by Emraan Hashmi.
One day, one of the teenage boys steals money from a middle-class man, who
commits suicide after being robbed. The teenage boy then meets the daughter of
the man he had robbed and has a change of heart. Seeking for redemption, he
sets on a journey to correct things.
Harami is directed by Shyam Madiraju. The film is all set to premiere at Busan
International Film Festival 2020 which will be held between October 21 and
October 30.
Apart from Emraan, the film also stars Rizwan Shaikh, Dhanshree Patil, Harsh

While theatres owners have been pleading the
government to give reopening of cinemas a go ahead,
there are many from the film industry now who are
also urging for the same. Actor Aditi Rao Hydari, a
self-confessed lover of the big screen experience
says, “A lot of the films are made for theatres and
theatres cannot be compared to any other experience.
It is a very special experience. It is very magical and
immersive. You cannot compare.”
But many films during the past six months have fallen
prey to the shutdown of theatres and had to opt for
OTT releases. One of Hydari’s recent Telugu film, V,
which was originally meant for a theatrical also made

“Some films can only be enjoyed in a theatre like
my latest V but having said that I am very happy
considering that the audiences were waiting for the
film, and also how we must safeguard our producers
etc, I am sure we made the right decision to go to an

While theatres owners have been pleading the
government to give reopening of cinemas a go ahead,
there are many from the film industry now who are
also urging for the same. Actor Aditi Rao Hydari, a
self-confessed lover of the big screen experience
says, “A lot of the films are made for theatres and
theatres cannot be compared to any other experience.
It is a very special experience. It is very magical and
immersive. You cannot compare.”
But many films during the past six months have fallen
prey to the shutdown of theatres and had to opt for
OTT releases. One of Hydari’s recent Telugu film, V,
which was originally meant for a theatrical also made
its way online.
“Some films can only be enjoyed in a theatre like
my latest V but having said that I am very happy
considering that the audiences were waiting for the
film, and also how we must safeguard our producers
etc, I am sure we made the right decision to go to an
OTT. But theatre is always special to me,” the actor
says.
“I don’t have knowledge as a marketer and I don’t
