Total 25 teachers, 43 students and 2 management persons visited the exhibition, actively spending time and benefited. During the year 2019 -20, 1007 text books, 179 reference books and 315 text books for SC/ST and open category students were added by spending Rs. 3,16,506 /- LIBRARY REPORT 2019- 20 Committee Incharge - Ms. Naveena Suresh & Mr. Hinduja Srichand Faculty Team - Mr. Priyadarshan, Ms. Rachana., Ms. Mahtab Library came into existence in the year 1986 along with the College. It stores various knowledge resources in the form of books, CD’s and on line sources of N - LIST of the INFLIBNET centre of UGC. This abode of knowledge storehouse has vast collection of information resources in various facets of knowledge. Library has more than 25,000 knowledge resources in the form of books, project reports and CD’s. Also library provides access to the available online resources of N - LIST of the INFLIBNET centre of UGC. Library is providing user friendly services to its users. The users of the library consist of faculty and students of the College. Library operations are fully computerized using SOUL 2.0 software of the INFLIBNET Centre for its functions. In order to make the newly admitted students know more about the library sources and facilities, every year library conducts user orientation programmes to all the first year undergraduate students. The library also provides book bank facility to the economically weaker students of the general as well as for SC/ST category students. We have trained more than 800+ students since its inception. The employability gap between the country’s graduates and the demand by industry needed to be urgently addressed and thus, in 2013 its flagship skill enhancement programme, the National University Students’ Skill Development (NUSSD) Programme was launched along with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India (GoI), and the National Skill Development Agency (NSDA). The NUSSD Courses are designed in a modular, interlinked and interactive manner cumulatively building knowledge, skills, and competencies. All courses are based on a credit-based system with more emphasis on practical and fieldwork. Research committee guided all the departments for writing synopsis and suggested some changes wherever it was required. For a major research project, we printed the questionnaires and distributed them among the students who are living in Chembur M ward area to collect their parents' responses. As such we have collected the questionnaire and will be giving it for analysis soon. • National Level Seminar: A one-day National Seminar on “Changes in Economic Policies in India Since 2014- Implications and Challenges” was organised on 22/02/2020 in the College seminar hall. The alumni meet is conducted every year in order to reconnect with the Alumni and celebrate their success and various achievements. Current year students performed a welcome dance. The Principal addressed all the Alumni and gave an insight about various developments taken place in the College in the recent few years. Shri.N Sasidharan President, SNMS and Shri.V. K Hiralal Treasurer, SNMS briefed about the various facilities planned to be provided to Alumni by College and also urged the Alumni to be an active part of the College development. The SNGC Alumni Association as part of its unique initiative this year felicitated those alumni who had made a contribution to the college in the form of monetary and nonmonetary aspects. A Total of 8 alumni were felicitated this year. The details about the, newly registered SNGC Alumni Association and membership for the association was briefed. Smt. Gomati an Alumnus of 2001 batch has come forward to conduct soft skills course in College for the benefit of the Students. Ms Ramya Pillai alumnus of 2017-18 batch briefed about the upcoming alumni activities for academic year. SNGC Alumni Association has organized a session on “Entrepreneurship Skill’s” by Mr. Rahul Gupta an Alumni of this College and also an expert in this subject on 04 th December, 2019, for Third year students of all programmes. He guided them how to begin with our own business with the small investment. Overall it was very interactivesession Extension Activities: Committee Incharge – Mrs Reshma . All the BBI students were involved in this fest. Various Competitions were held to mark the occasion. The competitions were a Powerpoint presentation, Debate, Banking Quiz and Personality Contest. This Competition helped to bring out the uniqueness of each individual. The students of the FYBBI, SYBBI and TYBBI set the stage on fire with their powerful Dance performance, singing and shayari to entertain the audience. The students were at their best. Spontaneity and confidence were the hallmarks of the competition. The students left everyone awe-struck as they presented their talent so immaculately and effortlessly. BBI Alumni were invited to judge the competition. The program culminated with a vote of thanks. The name “Iidara” as it portrays mean Management was aimed at discovering the hidden talents of Undergraduate students. The fest had given a chance for management students to exhibit their extracurricular activities in terms of both management and cultural activities. The one-day highspirited fest had activities ranging from HR Round ‘Synergy’ Mock interview, Sell a product, Business Quiz, Marketing Mela and Fun games. In most of the activities, an over – whelming response from students was received. There were 229 students who participated with full enthusiasm and exhibited their talent and won cash prizes for their talents. Students of BMS also wished to send a strong message through their fest and hence they created a banner of “Unity in Diversity” which had colorful hand impressions by the chief guest, IQAC coordinator and BMS faculties and organizing team. The Academic Year 2019-20 began with forming teams of Cricket, Football, Kho- Kho, Kabbadi, Volleyball, Athletics Cross Country and for Indoor games like Chess, Carom, Yoga etc. of boys and girls.
