• The idea of "Scout Scarf Day" on
August 1 is that all active and former
scouts are requested to wear their
scout scarfs in public to make the
"Spirit of Scouting" visible: Once a
Scout ‐ Always a Scout!

• The date of the event commemorates
the very first Scout Camp on
Brownsea Island in 1907.

• Of course, the scarf is only a symbol
but a strong symbol for the scout
promise and for our mission to leave
the world as a bit better a place than
we had found it.

Activity Report

June 27 ‐ State President L.Ravikumar was nominated by NHQ as
Judge for Yoga Competition. He submitted his papers after going
through the videos sent by participants at the meeting of the Yoga
Competition Juries.

June 28 ‐Mr.L.Ravikumar President , Mr.K.Gunasekaran Secretary
and Mr. Soundarapandian District secretary / Salem participated
in the 14th National Gathering, Varnasi held on virtual platform.
State President Mr.L.Ravikumar, announced the winners of Yoga
Competition conducted by ISGF. L. Ravikumar was given the first
prize in the “accepting the challenge” competition organised by
ISGF NHQ. The same was announced at the National Gathering.

July 4 ‐Tamlnadu SGF organised a Talk show “Sharing of
experience on Carona service ‐ Doctor, Psychatrist and Lab
Technician” for its members. Dr.Aruleeswaran and Mr.Israle,
Psychatrist spoke in detail about the subject and also
emphasised need for awareness and improve immunity to wade
away the attack by Carona virus.

July 5 ‐ 6th State council meeting of Tamilnadu SGF was held
on 5.7.2020 on virtual platform. The theme of the meeting was
on "ENROLMENT OF MEMBERS " apart from council members,
District . Officials and prospective Guild Organisers participated.
Shri. L Ravikumar president made presentation on “how to
approach prospective members” and on ”Formation of new
Guild / District “. Secretary shri. Gunasekaran explained the
database of members and the IRF details. President announced
the formation of “programe committee” to evaluate the
programe/ activity proposals from districts and Guilds. 10. A one
minute personal prayers were offered for the two of the doyens
Mr.Ganathey and Mr.Rangarao of Indian Scout and Guide
Movement who died on different date during the last two weeks

July 6 – Tamilnadu SGF ‐ Madurai District SGF formation
began lead by President L Ravikumar and Secretary
Gunasekharan.

They had a meeting on 6.7.2020 with prospective guild
members of Madurai and explained about Indian SGF for
formation.

July 8 ‐ TamilnaduSGF ‐ Revival of Chennai District SGF
began lead by President L Ravikumar and Secretary
Gunasekharan. They had a meeting on 8.7.2020 with
prospective new members of Chennai and explained about
Indian SGF & strengthen the same.

July 18 ‐ Tamilnadu State SGF ‐ Installation ceremony of
Thanjavur Guild was held on 18.07.20 at 19.30 hrs on Virtual
Platform. The ceremony was hosted by Shri.L.Ravikumar
President. Shri K.Gunasekaran secretary welcomed the
member and conducted the ceremony. Mr.Mecci. National
President Executive was the special Invitee and delivered the
key note address. TVC. Shri. 6 members were enrolled in the
Guild. The members elected Mr.Rajasekaran as President,
Mr. Rajaganesan as Secretary, and Ms. Suseela as Treasurer.
The other members are Ramanan Umadevi Venkatraman All
members renewed the scout promise as a mark of
installation of the Guild.

July 19 ‐ PresidentL.Ravikumar, Secretary K.Gunasekaran and Mr.
Pandian District Secretary/ Salem District participated in the
“LET’S TALK FELLOWSHIP ‐ SELF GROOMING” programe
organised by ISGF NHQ.

July 19 ‐Tamilnadu State SGF ‐‐‐ Conducted “Adolescence
Management Programme “ for parents on19.7.2020 at 6.00 pm
on Virtual Platform. The programme was hosted by shri. K
Gunasekaran Secretary .Shri.L.Ravikumar President. And shri.
Bikram Singh working president SRly SGF were the speakers .Mr.
L.Krishnan I A S (retd. ) delivered the key note address. The
programme focused on the possible hurdles and the guidance to
be provided by parents to the children. There were 30
participants from all over Tamilnadu

July 24 ‐Tamilnadu State SGF ‐ Installation ceremony of chennai
South Guild was held on 24.7.20 at 19.30 hrs on Virtual
Platform. The ceremony was hosted by Shri.L.Ravikumar
President. Shri K.Gunasekaran secretary welcomed the
member and conducted the ceremony. 12 members were
enrolled in the Guild.

The members elected Mr. Prabhakar, chartered accountant as
President, Mr.V.Ganesh. Ex Citibank as Secretary, and
Mr.Venkatesan Ex Integral Coach Factory as Treasurer.

The other members are L.Raghavan, A.P Srinivasan, L.Krishnan,
Shivakumar, I.Rajkumar, Kishore, Sushane kumar,
N.M.Krishnamoorthy. All members renewed the scout promise
as a mark of installation of the Guild.

July 25 ‐ Tamilnadu State SGF ‐ Installation ceremony of

Chennai West Guild SGF was held on 25.7.20 at 19.30 hrs on

Virtual Platform. The ceremony was hosted by Shri.L.Ravikumar

President. Shri K.Gunasekaran secretary welcomed the

member and conducted the ceremony. Mr.M.A.K.Mecci

National President Executive delivered the key note address.

12 members were enrolled in the Guild. The members elected

Mr.N.S.Gandamani, a publisher as president, Mr.Sridhar

Seshadri independent consultant as Secretary, and Ms.Pavithra

July 26 ‐Tamilnadu SGF organised a programme on ‘Effective
Communication’ to its members on virtual platform on
26.7.2020. L.Ravikumar. President hosted the programme.
K.Gunasekaran secretary welcomed the gathering.
Shri.R.Baskaran President. Southern Railway SGF was the chief
guest and addressed the gathering. Mr.Bikram Singh working
president Southern Railway SGF graces the programme.
Officials of Guild from Chennai and other districts of

August 2020

August 1: Thanjavur ChozarGuild president, secretary and
treasurer had its first meeting on virtual platform. State President
and State Secretary were invited for meeting. The State President
briefed the members about the formalities for running the Guild.
The members planned their activities for celebration of
Independence Day.

August 2 : State President took part in the virtual programme
held by National Headquarters titled “Let us Talk “ . The success
story of INDIAN SGF’s catalystic role on the formation of the Diu
and Daman State Unit of Scouts and Guides were discussed. The
INDIAN SGF started the state unit Impressed by the activities of
INDIAN SGF the state Education department has come forward in
forming the State Scouts and Guides Unit. Today there are 3000
Scouts and guides in Daman and Diu state. Shri.Satish Khanna
one of the founder members of INDIAN SGF shared his experience
about the initial meetings and the Silver Elephant Award presented
to him by BSG.

August 5: The installation ceremony of Arakonam Magizhvanam
Guild was organised by Tamil Nadu State SGF at 19:30 hrs on
virtual platform. The ceremony was hosted by President Shri. L.
Ravikumar and Secretary Shri. K. Gunasekaran started with the
welcome address and proceeded to conduct the ceremony. Shri.
M.A.K. Mecci, National President Executive chipped in to deliver
the key note address. Overall, eight members were enrolled into
the guild , out of which Shri. S. Sunder, school correspondent ,Shri.
A. Vedaiah, Educationist and Shri. K. Ravindran, school
correspondent and social worker were elected as President,
Secretary and Treasurer respectively. The scout promise was
renewed by the above representatives along with the other
members (M. Ganesan, B. Velsarathy, C.G. Ramesh, N.
Saravanan and S. Loganathan) as a mark of installation of the
guild.

August 5: Tamilnadu SGF president Shri L. Ravikumar has a
meeting with Shri.V.Ganesh secretary and Shri.Venkateswaran
Treasurer of the newly formed Chennai South Guildregarding
the rules and regulations to be followed by the Guild. Future
programmes of the Guild was also discussed.

August 5: Tamilnadu SGF Newsletter was launched at a
function held on virtual platform in the presence of
Shri.L.Ravikumar president, Shri.K.Gunasekaran, Secretary.
Office bearers of Chennai south Guild, Chennai West Guild,
ArakonamMaghizhvanam Guild and District Secretary, Salem
District. Shri. K.Ravindran Treasurer of Arakonam
Maghizhvanam Guild. Released the first copy of the Newsletter.
Shri.N.S. Gandamani. President chennai west Guild explained
the features of the Newsletter.

Shri.Mecci. President Executive Indian SGF appreciated the
efforts of Tamilnadu SGF. He advised that the Newslwtter be in
soft form so that it can reach many readers around the world.
President Tamilnadu SGF assured that the advice will be
followed. The function ended with vote of thanks by
Shri.Pandian. District Swcretary. Salem District.

August 8: Tamilnadu SGF president Shri. L.Ravikumar took
sessions on Rovering to success for rovers of TNBSG as part
of the Scout Scarf Day Commemorative initiative in a virtual
gathering organised by Patel Scout Group in commemoration of
“Scout Scarf Day”. Shri K.Gunasekaran, state secretary TNSGF
and Shri K.Kamala Kannan, SOC (S) TNBSG participated.
Shri. K. L Ramesh, Secretary Patel Scout Group welcomed the
gathering.

August 9: TamilnaduSGF Salem District organised a programme
on “Career Planning “ to its members and young Adults on virtual
platform.Shri.Soundarapandian, Secretary,Salem District hosted
the programme.Shri. L.Ravikumar, President introduced the Topic
followed by Shri. K.Gunasekaran, Secretary welcoming the
gathering. Shri.K.Kamala Kannan, SOC /S, TNBSG addressed the
gathering as the Chief guest. Officials of Guild from Chennai and
other districts of Tamilnadu SGF participated.
Shri.L.Vijayaraghavan,HR expert from Bangalore was the
speaker. The programme was attended by 30 participants.

August 16: Tamilnadu SGF - Chennai West Guild organised their
first Guild meeting on virtual platform. State president
Shri.L.Ravikumar and State Secretary Shri. Gunasekaran were
special invitees. Shri.N.S.Gandamani,President of the guild
welcomed the members of the guild and made a presentation on
Indian SGF and Tamilnadu SGF. Guild secretary Shri.Sridhar
Seshadri made a presentation on the rules and regulations
relating to Guild as per Indian SGF Constitution. State president
delivered the key note address. All members introduced
themselves.State secretary informed about the programmes
planned for September 2020. Members discussed the programme
for the quarter October to December. Twelve members attended
the meeting. The meeting ended with vote of thanks.

August 18: Tamilnadu SGF - Thanjavur Chozhar Guild secretary
Shri. Rajaganesan conducted Corona awareness by distribution
of pamphlets and personally visiting the members of 114 families
in the villagenear VALLAM in Thanjavur District as part of efforts
of Tamilnadu Education Department teacher volunteers project.
He is also rendering service at Corona quarantine center in
ManiyammaiCollege in Thanjavur for the past four months where
more than 350 Corona suspects werequarantined.

August 22: Tamilnadu State SGF organised the Installation

ceremony of ChennaiMidtown Guild on at 18:00 hrs on Virtual

Platform. The ceremony was conducted by Shri.

N.S.Gandamani, President,Chennai West Guild.

Shri.L.Ravikumar, President, TNSGF,addressed new members

and explained the aims of SGF. Shri.S. Sridhar, Secretary,

Chennai West Guild welcomed the participants. Nine members

were enrolled in the Guild out of which Shri.Balamurugan,

Shri.K.Bala and Shri.BaskarSubramanianwere elected as

President, Secretary and treasurer respectively. The other

members were Smt. G. Geetha, Shri. A.S. Lokeshwaran,Shri.

Pradeep, Shri. K. Gunasekaran, Shri. Raj Jayanth, Shri. K.

Sarveswaran. District Secretary Salem, Shri.Pandian renewed

the scout promise as a mark of installation of the Guild. State

August 23: Tamilnadu SGF Salem District organised a talk show
on “Yoga and Life - emphasis on pranayama” as a preventive
care from Corona for members. Shri.Pandian, District Secretary
welcomed the gathering. Shri.L.Ravikumar,State president
introduced the topic. District Secretary introduced the speaker
Ms.NesamaniDoraisamy( Ph.D. in yoga), a yoga exponent. She
touched upon the importance of yoga, difference between yoga
and physical exercise, demonstrated Kampala Bhati. Pranayama
and Vajrasan. Later she handled questions from women
members. Shri.Parthasarathy, National council member
introduced the chief guest Shri. Rangaswami ALT(S) and former
District Training Commissioner. He addressed the gathering
followed byShri.Periasamy, Patron, Salem District SGF delivering
the key note address. Shri.K.Balu,Executive committee member
of state council proposed vote of thanks.

August 23: Tamil Nadu State SGF Salem District former
secretary and Group leader of Kumaran scout group, founder
Nesakarangal home, and Salem SGFpatron , Shri. N. Periyasami
honoured our appeal for poor students educational aid to join
further college course. He started the scheme "Educational aid for
poor students" at Nesakarangal orphanage homewith his
contribution Rs1000/- handed over to Shri. R. S. Pandian, District
secretary ,SalemSGF.Vote of thanks given by Shri. R. S. Pandian,
District Secretary, Salem SGF.

August 24: Southern Railway State SGF conducted a zoom
meeting at 18:30 hrs for Salem DISTRICT members. Shri.
Jothiraman, State Secretary welcomed the gathering. Main pillars
of Mettupalayam and Udhagamandalam section joined to show
the strength of initiation at Salem division. Shri. L. Ravikumar,
President of TNSGF was the Chief Guest. He explained about
Indian Scout and Guide fellowship and it's organisational set up.
Working President Shri. Bikram Singh explained about the
formation, organisational setup and the future programmes of
Southern Railway State Scout Guide Fellowship (SRSGF). State

“TAMIL PALLI, Thanjavur” conducted speech competition for

children on Teacher’s Day September 5, 2020 on the topic “My
Teacher” in Tamil. Tamilnadu SGF assisted them in conducting
the online programme. The first prize of Rs.500, second Prize of
Rs.250 and third prize of Rs. 100 was sponsored by the state
president. L.Ravikumar, Salem District Secretary Mr. Pandian
and state secretary Mr. K. Gunasekaran. Respectively. There
were 17 participants and the programe was attended by
participants and viewers from many places in Tamilnadu and
from United Kingdom and Australia. Mr.N.S.Gandamani.
President Chennai west guild, Mr.V.Ganesh. Secretary Chennai
South Guild and Mr.K.Gunasekaran state Secretary officiated as
judges. Mr.Rajaganesan, Founder TAMIL PALLI Delivered the
key note address. Mr. L.Krishnan. I A. S. ( retd) was the Chief
guest. Winners were announced at the end of the programme.
All participants will be awarded the E- Certificate. The
programme ended with vote of thanks.

Tamilnadu State SGF - Installation ceremony of Kancheepuram
Guild on 6 .9.2020 at 9 am on Virtual Platform. Shri
.K.Gunasekaran. State Secretary welcomed the members and
other SGF officials. Shri L.Ravikumar President explained the
aims of SGF and explained the scout promise and Law. 5
members were enrolled in the Guild. The members
elected Mr.Varadharajan Raju as president , Mr.V.Seahadri, as
Secretary, and .Uppiliappan as Treasurer.

The other members are Smt.Anuraghini Shri. Rangarajan
District Secretary Salem Mr.Pandian renewed the scout
promise as a mark of installation .The ceremony ended with vote

TamilnaduSGFSouth Chennai Guild had their 1st meeting
today ,6th Sept'20. Meeting was attended by Mr. L..
Ravikumar, State President, SGF, Mr.Gunasekar, State
Secretary,SGF, and all office bearers and members of the
Guild.Meeting started with Prayer.

Welcone address by the Guild President Mr.Prabakar.
Keynote address by Mr. L. Ravikumar, State President, SGF.

He informed about vision 2030 of Inadian SGF and explained
about the SDG goals and briefed about the pep talk organised
by NHQ on the above goals. For the vision to get to the grass
root level the Guilds should work in their areas.

Guild Secretary Mr. V. Ganesh did a presentation on TNSGF -
Rules, promise, organisation structure, subscription, activities,
contact details of Guild members. Members self introduced
about their background and areas of interest to take the Guild
activities further.

Pep talk by Mr. L. Krishnan to members on various areas
where we can work to support the society. Mr.Gunasekar,
State Secretary gave his thoughts to the Guild members.

Mr. Ravikumar just shared a small presentation about the
blend of Guild members and how this Guild can work as a
fantastic team going forward. Mr. B. Venkateswaran, Treasurer
of the Guild gave vote of thanks.

6.9.2020: State President Shri.L.Ravikumar was nominated
into the team of VISION 2030 initiative of National Headquarter
of Indian SGF. He was given the task of delivering a pep talk
on the eighth Sustainable Development Goal ( SDG) i.e. Decent
Employment and Economic Growth. He has provided the
following inputs to VISION 2030 initiative
Goal: To promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth,
employment and decent work
Target : Improve the Gross Domestic Product ( GDP) of the
world and in particular India
Actions: GDP depends on productivity of every individual in
the age group of 20 years to 45 years - Skill Development is
the key. Individual disposable income decides the GDP -
employable education resulting in enabling environment for
earnings by individuals - Inculcate Hobbies and Handicrafts.
Innovate new skillsets ( Digital ) and organise training
programme for skill development. Promote skillsets in non-farm
sector like Native products. Encourage more female to take up
employment. It can contribute to 16% increase in GDP.
Entreprenual training and linkage with self help groups ( SHGs),
Community Based Organisations ( CBOs). Improve sanitation in
communities throught SHGs and CBOs to improve productivity.
Programme at Indian SGF level: Working with Government:
Try to be a catalyst in helping skilled people access skill
development programmes, organise financial assistance
through government schemes.
State, District and Guild level: Promote handicrafts in line
with requirement of modern age. Partnership with SHG, CBO
for promoting livelihood and Rural Employment.

Sept 12 2020 : Tamilnadu SGF Chennai Guild had their
installation ceremony on virtual platform on 24.7.2020. The Guild
members met at “Nageswar Park” in Chennai on 12.9.2020. All
the members were presented with a welcome kit ( consisting of
scout law, promise, scout prayer song and scout flag song). In
addition to this, each member was presented with Tamilnadu
SGF state scarf and the office bearers were presented with state
scarf and National scarf. State President Shri L.Ravikumar
presented the state scarf to Shri V.Ganesh, Secretary of the
Guild. The oldest member of the Guild Shri. Raghavan presented
the scarf to Shri. Srinivasan. Guild Secretary presented the scarf
to shri Krishnan and others. The meeting ended with vote of
thanks. It was a good experience as the members met for the
first time physically.

Sept 13 2020 : TamilnaduSGF Chennai West Guild organised a
virtual talk show on”Understanding people “ on 13.9.2020 at 6
pm. Mr.N.S.Gandamani President Chennai West Guild was the
speaker. Mr.Sridhar Seshadri secretary of the guild welcomed
the participants. Ms. Pavithra Manoj. Treasurer of chennai west
guild introduced the chief guest Mr.L.Krishnan. I A S ( retd). State
president Mr.L.Ravikumar. Introduced the topic. The speaker
touched upon basic concepts of Transaction Analysis and
explained the life positions. He also stressed the point that the
basic concepts should be applied in all the places where we as
human beings interact. Participants expressed their view and
appreciated the efforts taken by the speaker. Many of them
requested the Tamilnadu SGF to organise such programme on
regular manner. State Secretary Mr. K. Gunasekaran proposed
vote of thanks. More than 25 participants attended the
programme which included young adults also.

Launching of Tamilnadu SGF State SCARF:
The official scarf of Tamilnadu SGF was launched on
August 15, 2020 by Shri. L. Ravikumar, State
President. Shri. K. Gunasekaran, State Secretary
explained the selection of design for the scarf. The
launching programme was attended by State, District
and Guild officials including members.

The guild celebrated 74th Independence Day after the
Installation Ceremony

August 15: Tamilnadu SGF - Salem District Salem Steel Guild
celebrated 74th Independence Day at ATTUR. Shri.Barani,
Guild President hoisted the flag. Shri.Pandian, District
secretary, Salem District SGF was the Chief Guest.
Shri.Parthasarathy, Vice President and
Shri.K.Balu,StateExecutive Committee member of Tamil Nadu
SGF participated.

August 15: Tamil Nadu SGF -Thanjavur Chozar Guild
celebrated 74th Independence Day at Mannargudi.

citizen Smt. Kunjammal hoisted the flag. Verses from Thirukural
and Raghupathy Raghava Rajaram song were sung by children
of Guild members. Special invitees were honoured by Smt.

Independent Day Celebrations

August 15: Tamilnadu SGF, Thanjavur Chozar Guild

organised a talk show on sharing the experience of service in
Corona Quarantine center. Shri. Rajaganesan, Secretary of the
Guild was the speaker. Shri. Rajasekaran, President, Thanjavur
Chozar Guild welcomed the gathering. Speaker, Shri.
Rajaganesan shared experience of handling the documentation,
the psychological aspects of Corona patients, special food,
medicines, motivational talks and songs for the patients.

The speaker has been serving at the quarantine center for the
past 5 months. Many who attended the programme expressed
gratitude to the speaker for sharing field level inputs. Chief Guest
Shri. B. J. Bikram Singh, Working President, SRSGF in his
address appreciated the efforts and expressed that the
experience was heart touching.

Shri. L. Ravikumar, President, Tamilnadu SGF, Shri. K.
Gunasekaran, State Secretary and office bearers of Guilds and
members attended. Shri. Venkatesan, Treasurer Chennai South
Guild proposed vote of Thanks.

August 15: Tamilnadu SGF President Shri. L.Ravikumar took
sessions on Rovering to success for rovers of TNBSG as part of
Scout Scarf Day Commemorative initiative in a virtual gathering
organised by Patel Scout Group in commemoration of “Scout
Scarf Day”. This is the 3rd programme covering the “wine” Rock.
Shri.K.Kamalakannan, SOC(S),TNBSG and Shri K L Ramesh,
Secretary,Patel Scout Group participated and the latter
welcomed the gathering.

August 15: Tamilnadu SGF - Salem District patron and founder
of Nesakarangal, an NGO, Shri. Periyasamy hoisted the National
Flag on 74th Independence Day at the old age home.
Shri.Pandian, District Secretary, Salem District SGF delivered
key note address on behalf of TamilnaduSGF.Sweets were
distributed to the inmates.

August 15: Tamilnadu SGF - Salem District Executive committee
member Shri.Ramesh was felicitated by Salem Corporation
Commissioner for his excellent contribution during COVID 19 in
Salem Town at the 74th Independence Day
celebrations.Shri.Rameshhas distributed food for roadside
dwellers and small shop owners from the month of March and is
still continuing. He also runs an old age home and orphan home
for children in Salem. Tamilnadu SGF congratulates him.

20th Sept’20:

1.Tamilnadu SGF Kancheepuram Guild organised a
virtual talk show on” Hiring Trends post COVID 19“ on
20.9.2020 at 6 pm. Mr. Seshadri, Secretary
Kancheepuram Guild was the speaker. Mr. Gunasekaran,
Secretary, Tamilnadu SGF welcomed the participants and
introduced the topic. The speaker touched upon the
effects of COVID 19 on present job market, Strategies for
the freshers and also provided idea on the sectors which
will flourish post COVID 19. He also stressed the point
that the nature of job and commercial terms of jobs will
undergo major changes .Participants expressed their view
and got many points clarified on the future job market. Mr.
L. Ravikumar. State President participated and appreciated
the efforts taken by the speaker. Mr. Krishnan, SGF
member from Chennai South Guild explained how
manufacturing sector will get decentralised. Many of them
requested the Tamandu SGF to organise such
programmes regularly.Mr. Balu Secretary of Chennai
Midtown proposed vote of thanks. 24 participants attended
the programme which included young adults.

Mr.P.V.N.Parthasarathy attended the 30th National General
Assembly of Indian SGF on virtual platform. Important
discussion included the updates of 29th General Assembly,
Annual report 2019-20, Annual Accounts 2019-20,
proposed amendment to Indian SGF constitution, Vision-
2030 plan.

Mr.K. Gunasekaran State Secretary and Mr. Seshadri,
Secretary, KancheepuranPerundeviGuild attended the 2nd
Management Course organised to help Self Grooming of
Indian SGF volunteers. This is a 4 week course. They
attended the sessions on 4.10.2020 also.

1st Oct’20:
Indian SGF in association with Southern Railway State SGF
hosted Veterans Day Celebrations on 1st Oct’20 at 4pm.
State President Mr. L Ravi Kumar highlighted the needs for
educating the veterans on “How to manage in combating
Geriatric Related issues.”

2nd Oct’20:

Tamilnadu SGF Chennai West Guild organised a

gathering to present the State Scarf to all its members and

celebrated Gandhi Jayanthi on October 2, 2020 at Thiru

nagar park, Villiwakkam, Chennai at 4 pm. President of the

Guild Mr. N.S. Gandamani welcomed the

gathering. MahatmaGandhiji’s photo was unveiled by MS.

Pavithra Prasad and garlanded by Ms. Gayathri. All

members offered floral tribute to the father of the Nation.

Master Anirudh, cub from Padma Sarangapani School Scout

Group of TNBSG gave a speech on Gandhi and

Independence movement. State Secretary Mr.

Gunasekaran gave away momento to the speaker. State

President Mr.L. Ravikumar explained the importance of scarf

and presented the State and National scarf to President of

Chennai West Guild, Chennai South Guild and Chennai

Midtown Guild.

Mr. Prabhakar, President. Chennai South Guild explained

the activities of NGO which he is

managing. State President in his address announced that

Tamilnadu SGF will undertake a community development

project focusing on the SDG goals will be taken up with

the NGO during the year 2021-22. All members

distributed masks to children and workers in the nearby

areas. The programme ended with vote of thanks by

Mr.Prasad, Member of Chennai West Guild.

Tamilnadu SGF Thanjavur Chozar Guild celebrated Gandhi
Jayanthi on October 2,2020 at 8 am in Mannargudi Town with
elders. Guild Secretary Mr.Rajaganesan welcomed the
gathering. After showering flowers elders remembered the
visit of Mahatma Gandhiji to National High School and his
remarks in the School visitors’ book. Sweets were distributed
to children.

Tamilnadu SGF Rajali Guild Arakonam celebrated Gandhi
Jayanthi on Oct 2nd in association with Rabindranath Tagore
group and Jhansi Rani Guide Group. All faith prayer was
conducted at 7.00 am. Ms. Varalakshmi, Social activist was
the Chief Guest. She inaugurated a 2 Km Walkathon. Mr.
Duraipandian, Deputy Superintendent of Police for
Tiruvallur District flagged off the Marathon, slow jogging of 5
km from Tiruvallur Baby Canal to Poondi Dam at 9.30. A
cycle rally from Tiruvallur to Arakonam was flagged off by Mr.
R.Parimal kumar. District Commissioner (Scout) Central
District SRBSG at 8.30 am. They were received by
Mr.Kennedy George STC / SRBSG. The programme was
organised and coordinated by Mr.Senthamizharasu and Mr.
Anbarasan of Rajali Guild.

Mr. V Ganesh, Tamil Nadu State SGF Vice President (admin),
Mr. R Soundara Pandian, Tamil Nadu State SGF Vice
President(coord.), Mr. K Gunasekaran, Tamil Nadu State SGF
Secretary participated in the special virtual meeting
conducted by the Indian SGF to celebrate the birthday of
Mr.MeccI, President executive of Indian SGF on 26th
January, 2021 at 9pm.

Tamil Nadu SGF Tanjavur Chozhar Guild celebrated
Republic Day at Mannargudi. National flag was unfurled
by Guild Presiden Mr. Rajasekharan. Guild Secretary,
Mrs.R. Umadevi, Publisher, Radhabai Publications
welcomed the gathering. Mr.K. Venkitaraman, Prof. &
Correspondent, Swamy Spoken English presided over
.Mr. Rajaganesan delivered the Republic day speech. One
minute silence was observed in memory of Late
Psychology Professor, Prof. Pappiayyan, Ms. K.
Tamilselvi Kaliamurthi unfurled the National flag and
delivered special speech on the occasion.This was
followed by Patriotic songs by Ms. Srinidhi and Ms.
Srinisha sisters.. Guild Treasurer Mrs. Suseela
Sivakumar proposed the Vote of Thanks. Sweets were
distributed on the occasion. The meeting ended with
singing of National Anthem.

contributed by the members.

22nd Feb’21:
22nd Feb’21 marked the program to celebrate the birth
day of Lord Baden Powell.
Tamilnadu SGF conducted “Thinking Day” programme
on 22.2.21 on virtual platform. State Secretary ,
Mr. K. Gunasekaran welcomed the gathering and
explained about
“ World Thinking Day” and its importance.
Mr.L.Ravikumar, State President gave a presentation on
“Scouting for Boys ” and explained about the way the
book was compiled and briefed about “Camp fire Yarn”.
He further explained the aim, objectives, training
methodology etc.,
Mr R Soundara.Pandian, State Vice President handled the
“Camp fire yarrn -1 Scout’s work.
State president announced that a series on virtual
programmes will be conducted to disseminate
information about scouting for its members.
Mr. Seshadri, State Organiser stressed the need to take
the scout movement further for a better society and
proposed vote of thanks.
