Dear colleague,
Hope all of you had a happy Onam. We are gradually ge ng accustomed to the term 'living
with the virus'. From complete lock down we step down to segmental containment strategy.
The number of health workers infected is rising alarmingly. So please take stringent
measures of infec on preven on.

IAP ac vi es are in full swing . We have completed majority of ac on plans. Few
remaining can be started only once schools reopen. ORS week and breas eeding week were
observed with a lot of enthusiasm by all branches.

By the me you receive this message there would be hardly one month le for vo ng to
start for CIAP elec ons. Reques ng you to put all your might behind our candidate Dr
Remesh Kumar.R. Even though he has a bright chance of winning, we should not be
complacent or over confident. Each vote counts . Reques ng all the branch leaders to
supervise the campaign in their branches.

Reques ng your con nued support for programs. Please be more vigilant while handling
pa ents. Never compromise on personal protec ve equipments, social distancing and break
the chain protocols.

My dear friends and colleagues in IAP,Gree ngs from Thrissur!First and foremost let me
congratulate you all for your heartwhelming approach in your respec ve roles as a pediatri-
cian, family and as an IAPian in this crisis period. I take this opportunity to congratulate our
state branch and its pillars Dr Narayanan (President) and Dr Bala(Secretary) for making this
Covid season in to an academic season making it possible for all our Kerala IAPians to listen to
a large galaxy of pioneer speakers on a regular basis.By now you all will be aware that we are
hos ng the south zone conference Dakshin pedicon from 6th to 12th of September and the
cultural ac vi es on 10th. I request all your ac ve par cipa on and involvement in the
programs.Many of our CIAP ac on plans have already been rolled out in many of our
branches, a few more will be carried out in the coming months. I congratulate all the district
branches for the wonderful ac vi es throughout. In this elec on season, I request all of you
to make our voice heard loud by ac vely involving and working towards the success of our
dear leader Dr Remesh Kumar R as the President elect 2022. Best wishes and I am sure Dr
Remesh will come out with success as usual in flying colours. I congratulate Dr Vishnu Mohan,

Dear Seniors and Iapians,The month JULY has been a period of ACADEMIC EXTRAVAGANZA
like never before. We started slowly from May with Rainbow by Kozhikode. This month we
had the Doyens series weekly twice by Kozhikode, two quality webinars by Pathanamthi a
and Kannur, 4 by Cochin Potpourri of Interna onal standards, 12 excellent OSCE sta ons by
Neuro chapter, PG and Master talks again by Kozhikode, three Zoom conferences Neurocon,
Gastrocon and Cri talk and the 4 PAP prog along with monthly CMEs by branches. These are
all done before the ORS Week ac vi es which were done in a grand manner by many
branches especially Trivandrum and Kozhikode. We were lucky to have our teacher and the pi-
oneer in ORT Prof Sulekha for the state programs. 84 ORS ac vi es were done in a week which
is of high standards considering the pandemic. Two videos were done by our 2 big branches
and a video on doctor's day by Kozhikode. Now we have to concentrate on Na onal elec ons
and make sure no votes will be lost because of not upda ng in the list. We are going to have
our 4th Na onal IAP President from our state as Dr Ramesh Kumar in a few months . By the

me this issue reaches you,Remesh Sir might have given the nomina on and on the behalf of
state, I wish him the very best. Friends, this is the me when we have to be extremely careful
when dealing with children. Our members has been doing excep onal work with the govern-
ment health services and medical educa on . Dr Praveen, Dr Manu, Dr Anand, Dr Sajith, Dr
Krishnapriya,Dr Ranjith, Dr Dhanya, Dr Sreeprasad( sorry if I le out anybody) are the coordi-
nators of their respec ve districts and doing well along with our facul es in various medical
colleges. please take care and stay safe.
