ORS WEEK OBSERVATION.

IAP Thrissur organized various programs to observe ORS
WEEK.

IAP Thrissur conducted Zoom mee ng on 27-7-20 to
observe ORS week and to propagate the theme- ORS the
healthy drink.

Dr.Ra Santhakumar, President welcomed the par ci-
pants .

Dr.AnandaKesavan TM, Na onal Vice-president CIAP,
gave the opening remarks.

Dr.NithyaShyam , Consultant Pediatrician, JMMC gave a
talk on " Not just acute diarrhoea" covering the complica-

ons of ADD. Dr.AparnaNamboodiripad , Associate
Professor, JMMC spoke about Rotavirus vaccine in her
talk " Rota Rumina on".

Dr M E Sugathan, former IMA President was the modera-
tor. It was followed by ac ve discussions lead by Dr.K K
Purushothaman, HOD, GMC Thrissur.

Dr.Sreejith Kumar, Secretary proposed the vote of thanks.

Dr.Anand M as speaker and Dr.Vivin Abraham as Dr.NithyaShyam
moderator.

All 3 sessions are received will by the audience. More
than 450 par cipants watched the sessions live on Zoom
and YouTube.

acute diarrhoea and expressed her concerns on
decreasing ORS prescrip ons.Dr .T.M.Anandakesavan,
Na onal Vice president, south zone IAP addressed the
members with special emphasis on home available
fluids in acute diarrhoea.Prof Dr Elizabeth K E, expert in
pediatric nutri on, prof Dr.Sushamabai,past president
IAP kerala,Dr Remesh Kumar ,HSG CIAP 2018-2019 and
presiden al candidate delivered felicita ons . Prof Dr
Savida, superintendent ICH Ko ayam and Dr Omana,
HOD ,ICH Ko ayam and na onal EB member Dr Jose O
and state secretary Dr Balachander D also felicitated
the func on.This was followed by academic session on
ZODIAC management in ADD by prof Dr T U Sukumaran,
na onal president CIAP 2011 who warned against
prescribing GASTRO in ADD.
The second academic talk was by young vibrant
pediatric gastroenterologist, Dr Jagadeesh V R Menon,
consultant in Dr Rela ins tute of medical care, chennai
and visi ng consultant,BMH, Kozhikode who gave an
elaborate discussion on pediatric acute liver failure and
management including newer concepts evolving in
pediatric hepa c transplanta on.
This was followed by clearing queries from the
par cipants by the learned speakers .
The mee ng was hosted by Dr Balachander,state IAP
secretary and moderated by Dr Sunu John, IAP
Ko ayam president.
Mee ng concluded at 8: 50 pm with vote of thanks by
secretary IAP Ko ayam Dr Nisha

and few over youtube live video streaming including
senior pediatricians, members of IAP Ko ayam and

NICU advanced in conjunc on with technology? By Dr

(Neonatology),Consultant Neonatologist, Rainbow
