What is Art with a capital “A”?

The dictionary defines Art as
“the human effort to imitate, supple­
ment, alter or counteract the works
of nature, “ But it would be safe to
safe to say that most of us see it as
means self expression. And to ex­
press ourselves we have to take a
good hard look at who we are. Not
always a pleasent revelation. You
learn that Art takes courage and
honesty as well as creativity.

Physical Education

Mr. Allen shows the proper way to serve |
the ball to a crowd of freshman who can’t
wait to see what comes next. Just wait till
you learn how to set the ball!(Left)

Mr. Allen and Mr. Burchette shared the
wonderful task of teaching a group of frosh
the correct way of hitting the volleyball,
connecting with a slow pitch softball and
kicl\ing th e winning goal in soccer. The
students listened intently and learned every­
thing they could in the short 47 minutes that
they had eyer^ylay. Brian Sopp said, “Mr.
Allen sure knows how to make spiking a ball
interesting. And the way he showed me how
to kick a soccer ball was just amazing. H e is
the man.”
