PANORAMA
“Vision is the art of seeing
what is invisible to others.”
From the desk of the principal
As I pen these lines, I cannot but marvel at the indomitable spirit and missionary zeal of my teachers
and my students : they can alchemise every adversity into an opportunity. We were determined to
start the first month of the new year on a promissory note but soon we had to switch to online teaching
once again in view of the rising corona graph. The closure of schools and the biting cold
notwithstanding, we went ahead with our scheduled practical examinations and viva observing all
Covid protocols and mandates. In this issue, you will read about the sparkling creativity and
achievements of our dear students. Our Band & Bharatiyam students and teachers had practiced
assiduously for months under the guidance of their teachers and instructors. They proved their mettle
and created history by bagging three prizes on the occasion of the Republic Day parade at Vidhan
Sabha Marg, lucknow. The school tableau based on the theme of submission to God and unity also
bagged the first prize in the school tableau category . The school Pipe band and Bharatiyam was
awarded the first prize and the girls’ Brass band bagged the third prize. Several vaccination camps
have been organized in the school and more are on the anvil. Safeguarding the health of our students Dr.(Mrs.) Vineeta Kamran
is our foremost concern. Board & Home Examination preparations are going on in full swing and we Senior Principal CMS,
are leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that our students perform to the best of their abilities. Kanpur Road
Vision -25 has given us a roadmap to follow to ensure that our system of education and teaching
methodologies keep pace with the times. Our mission is to inculcate the right values and the requisite
expertise in our students so that they can reach the zenith of success and contribute meaningfully to
the society and the world at large . I am sure this issue will bring a smile to your face.

FOMO: Fear Of Missing Out, IS IT REAL ?
ANANYA SACHAN (7th-G)
"You totally missed out!" This sentence strikes fear in the hearts of many teens. In fact, missing out on something
bothers some teens so much. There is even a special word for that sick feeling: FOMO
FOMO is an acronym that stands for fear of missing out. It's the feeling that you need to know what everyone else is
doing at every moment and then worry that everyone is having much more fun than you are. I am sure you'll agree
that this is the downside of living surrounded by technology.
One way for teens to cope with FOMO is to practise „Reframing‟, which is a mental exercise designed to help them
look at situations differently. Here are some tips on coping with FOMO-
Track Negative Thoughts- One thing teens can do to cope with FOMO is to track their negative thoughts and
feelings in a journal. This allows them to observe how often they are feeling negative about themselves or their
lives.
Choose Positive Thoughts- Tracking negative thoughts also allows teens to recognize the negative words and
phrases they repeat to themselves and redirect their thoughts and replace the negatives with something positive.
Schedule Technology Breaks- Of course, turning off the technology seems like a natural cure for FOMO, but just
switching the phone "off" does not erase the disturbances that FOMO causes. The key is to turn off the technology
and do something entirely different like reading a book, walking, writing, or do any other hobby.
Why don't you test yourself to see how long you can go without checking for updates? Go on! Give it a go! Take a
moment to appreciate your life, be on your own and see how it feels. It might help you enjoy your life more and
more. Always try to feel good about yourself.

Resolution 2022 in action
Life in 2021 has been a roller coaster ride for me. Ups and downs have been a
part and parcel of life. From experiencing times of distress and sleepless nights
when my mother was admitted in hospital in March to the memorable moment when
I was on cloud nine on shifting to my new house in December. Looking forward for
a healthier and happier 2022 with a few ambitions and resolutions. My first
resolution for the new year is to devote some time for yoga and meditation every
morning as 2021 has taught us that physical and mental health are the true assets
of an individual. My second resolution is to dedicate some time in enriching my
vocabulary by learning at least two new words a day and focusing on current
affairs. My third resolution is to pursue my hobby of gardening and reading
Ramcharitmanas on daily basis for enhancing my spiritual knowledge. My fourth and
most important resolution for 2022 is to reduce the screen time and manage my
time effectively to ensure that I devote at least 3-4 hours daily for studies.
Hoping 2022 brings forth a life full of positivity, aspirations, achievements and
satisfaction! - Aditi Shukla

Resolution 2022 in action
New Year is the time to reflect on the year that went by, and plan for the
upcoming one with new goals and a renewed enthusiasm. A year is enough time to
gather a stack of new experiences. But everything would come to naught if we
don‟t have defined goals to direct our actions . My new year resolution for 2022
is to cultivate a habit of daily meditation. The particular benefits of daily
generalized meditation are well-documented and widespread, ranging from
reduction in anxiousness and lower blood pressure to increased immunity and
better sleep. I would also like to learn to play a new musical instrument, probably
a guitar.
So, even as 2022, like all other new years, brings with it a renewed sense of
cautious optimism, I would make sure to focus on my hobbies and self-
improvement goals, set my own agenda, and inspire others to do something
different. -Pavni Tripathi

Resolution 2022 in action
Resolution means a determined decision to do or to not to do something. People often make such decisions on
New Year for their own personal growth and development. They see it as an opportunity to start fresh and to
improve things or set things on the right path. A lot of people make different resolutions according to their
interests, goals and purposes.
I took upon a few resolutions on new year as a promise to myself. First and foremost resolution is to get out of my
comfort zone. Getting out of my comfort zone would mean to be more socially involved, to be more confident and
to meet new people. Second resolution is to appreciate every single kind act of people as the world now needs to
appreciate kindness more than ever. Third resolution would be to make each moment count because life is too
short to wait for the opportunities to come to you. Fourth resolution is to read more and accomplish my reading list
on time. Fifth resolution is to learn a new skill or a hobby which will give me a chance to further explore my
interests. My sixth and the last resolution is to contribute myself as much as I can towards the environment for it is
our responsibility to preserve it. These resolutions will help me to keep me in discipline and are going to serve as a
personal road map for me down to the trip of the rest of the year.

CAMPUS IMPROVEMENT PLAN
Changes are a very important part of every institution. With the
change in the scenario and the situations their comes an
alarming need for change in the institution. Our school
experienced many changes throughout the month. With the
increasing COVID cases, the schools, once again travelled all the
way to homes. But it definitely did not hamper the studies by any
chance. Vaccination was another need of the hour. As per the
latest vaccination guidelines the children aged between 15 to 18
years were declared eligible for vaccination. Therefore, City
Montessori School, Kanpur Road Campus had successfully
organised four free vaccination camps in WUCC between 4th
January to 18th January, 2022 which proved to be a big success
in vaccinating the students of the senior section. The vaccination
drive was conducted under the supervision of qualified doctors.
Certain students of the senior as well as the junior section were
a part of „Blue Nudge‟ waste segregation project under the
guidance of Mrs. Shikha Sareen. Blue nudge is a unique platform
where the students learn to become more responsible towards
the earth. It is a simple, yet effective way for learners to learn
how to use resources efficiently and earn a Planet Warrior
Certification for their efforts. Under this, the students came
together and collected the maximum plastic waste within the
campus and instead of incorrect disposal of these, it was sent to
innovative hands so that it could be reused. It is indeed a change
in the campus for the betterment of the earth.
