ear Parents, Talmidim and Friends,
DAs the saying goes, this year was certainly one for the books! While so much
focus has been on the latter part of the year and its inherent challenges, an
objective review of this year clearly shows far more than just that. In fact, I
firmly believe that the success of the last part of the year was a testimony to
the investment and hard work we all put in throughout the first part of the
year and all the years of the yeshiva history. We showed that our chinuch was
deeply rooted and secure and had the ability to be taken “on the road”.
The partnership and collaboration with our parents showed just how very real the often used
expression “YTT family” really is. Under the most trying circumstances our parents, Hanhala,
Rabbeim and Talmidim worked seamlessly to create new realities while never losing sight of our
true focus of chinuch and education.
This year presented challenges that were truly unprecedented. At times we felt like we had no
playbook, no instructions and we were flying without instruments, but at no time was I ever flying
alone. I am humbled to work alongside true giants, our Rosh Hamesivta Rabbi Posy, and our Menahel,
Rabbi Kaufman who were a continual source of support and advice as together we navigated the
most uncharted times and faced some of the most painful losses to the yeshiva family.
As we enjoy our well-deserved summer break and prepare for another productive year I invite you
to share the memories and nachas of a year full of milestone achievements and events.

Rabbi Nosson Scherman e daven every day that Hashem should not bring us into
a nisayon, a difficult test. Many a great and successful
Wpeople have faltered when tested, and have been
branded as failures. How does one survive and grow
from a test? By being prepared, by being strong enough,
prepared enough, resourceful enough not only to
survive, but to grow from it. By having the “antibodies”
that overcome the challenge.
Torah Temimah, like all yeshivos, was severely tested by the Covid-19 pandemic.
There is no need to go into detail about the nisayon; we all understand it from our
personal lockdowns.
And on a scale of 1 to 10, how did Torah Temimah respond? TEN PLUS!
Immediately, the hanhalah, administration, rebbeim and teachers swung into
action. Zoom lessons, homework, personal phone calls, drive-bys – anything
humanly possible to keep the yeshiva functioning and the talmidim growing was
done. The cooperation of the parents was superlative. And it worked magnificently!
My purpose is not to praise the response to the emergency, extraordinary though
it was. My point is to emphasize that the successful response to the pandemic
testifies to the incredible human infrastructure that made the entire zman, not
just the last three months, such a triumph. Had the yeshiva not been humming
along so well all year, it could not have functioned so well during the pandemic.
Let’s look back.
Rabbi Eliyahu Kaufman and Rabbi Armo Kuessous brought energy and imagination
into their already successful departments and stellar faculties. Eighty new
talmidim from Yeshiva Ruach Chaim and their parents were seamlessly integrated
into the Torah Temimah family. Morah Hindy was an all-star as she created a
department that delights children and parents. New rebbeim, an invigorated
Mesivta Hanhalah, new programs, rejuvenated visions throughout the institution,
a Board of Trustees that boldly and generously supports the educators (as all
boards should, but don’t always do), and an Executive Director with boundless
energy and imagination – all combined for a year more successful than almost
anyone could have predicted.
At the beginning of the year, Torah Temimah adopted the slogan “The future is
ours!” Ambitious. But the Yeshiva lived up to it!
As great as Torah Temimah’s 60 years have been, the future, baruch Hashem, is
even brighter.

We see extraordinary dedication of

We see extraordinary growth in

We are used to making the extraordinary

Just as the school year began, our
Preschool open house with Morah
Hindy Hilman garnered an incredible
response, branding our youngest YTT
division as, indeed, the most popular
preschool in Flatbush.
Elementary and Mesivta enrollment
was even more robust than usual
this year, prodding us to close
enrollment early. What a joy to add a
fourth special Minyan bus route to
accommodate the increased demand!

This year’s pre-dinner and dinner seasons were
marked by a unique passion as the energy of all
that happens every day at YTT was shared by us all.
We were visited by Mr. Gary Torgow, president
of the largest bank in Michigan, in the pre-dinner
phase, who spoke about his success in growing a
Mosad in Detroit. His address created an aura of
unity and support as parents, staff, and talmidim
rallied around our Yeshiva.
At the dinner itself, there was no mistaking the
Ruach as we were treated to a kaleidoscope of
music, decor, choir, video, fireside chats, and
Trousing addresses.

special guest speakers or programs

Even during lockdown, this beloved

One week this Oneg became a Shalom

Rabbi Chanoch Posy ear parents עמו”ש:
DAs a most challenging school year draws to a close, I am delighted to
share with you the Nachas you so deserve.
Various initiatives that were implemented this year bore excellent fruit,
such as our pre-Shachris shiur and the “lunchtime” shiur, given by Rav
Choueka, designed to enable the bochurim to finish the Mesechta.
Our Motzoei Shabbos Learning Seder which was followed by post-
seder sports was a wonderful addition to the schedule. However, the
highlight of the fall’s activities was our most uplifting Shabbos At The Raleigh retreat,
very much “managed” by the Bochurim themselves. Their inspiration carried through to
some of the most “lebedige” Chanukah and Purim Mesibos in memory.
And then came the great Nisayon …
We have always maintained that proper Chinuch Ha’Bonim is strong partnership between
the parents and the Yeshiva. In an unprecedented way, this collaboration has been tested
and under the circumstances, this has been a remarkably successful year.
All Sedorim were maintained, all Shiurim were delivered, in a unique manner, assignments
and exams were administered, both in the Limudei Kodesh, as well as להבדילin the secular
studies departments. Our recognition and appreciation are extended to our Menahel
Rav Choueka shlita and our principal, Rabbi Kuessous for their extraordinary efforts
and accomplishments. Similarly, we owe a debt of the deepest gratitude to our most
Choshuve Magidei Shiur shlita for their indefatigable dedication to their Talmidim, under
the most trying conditions. Our secular department faculty operated successfully in
assuring that all students achieved their course requirements. The executive offices of the
Yeshiva, led by Rabbi Fievy Lieberman, enabled all efforts in a remarkable way to make
sure that the Yeshiva’s Ikar Tachlis, its primary mission of Harbotzas HaTorah and Yiras
Shamayim to your sons continued “virtually’ unimpeded. Everything B'ezras Hashem, in
the final analysis came together, so that we -as clearly felt at our graduation – could finish
the year on a high.
Under these demanding circumstances the parents of our Talmidim – with all your
challenges that this pandemic has presented- have not only “passed” with flying colors,
but, indeed, excelled. If not for your mesiras nefesh, we really would not have accomplished
anything. We are so grateful.
However, the lion’s share of our Hispaalus is in the direction of our dear Talmidim, your
precious sons שיחיו. They demonstrated what it means to be a Torah Temimah bochur
throughout. They are the heroes of this historic saga.
It has been my Zchus to share with you, in this, in the greatest endeavor of all, Chinuch
HaBonim, your Bonim.

Rabbi Eliyahu Kaufman מה אשיב לה’ כל תגמולוהי עלי
t’s time to reflect. It’s time to give thanks. It’s time to build on our astounding success.
IEntering the doors of 555 Ocean Parkway in early September was something so
familiar, bringing back the warmest memories. Although I was now entering as the
Menahel of the yeshiva ketanah, in reality I was coming home. My childhood years,
my mesivta years, and my years of ’ עלייas a beis medrash bochur, all took place in the
holy כותלי הישיבהof Yeshiva Torah Temimah.
The mission was quite clear ,to bring this makom torah and it’s decades of excellence
to an even higher place. Let this great flagship Yeshiva which over the years has
produced thousands of outstanding talmidim continue on in servicing our youth with the
reputable excellence in chinuch that we’re so proudly known for. The chinuch that focuses
on the individual , and enables him to reach his own potential.
A task so enormous would surely require a team effort, and for that I turned to our exceptional
staff. We are zoche to boast of a team of rebbeim who are talented, have a wealth of
classroom experience, and are so devoted, dedicated, and giving, for each and every talmid.
Throughout the year it has been such a pleasure to work and brainstorm together with such
יראים ושלמיםwho focus on one thing ... the talmidim. They showed much excitement and
enthusiasm towards new ideas and techniques and were more than happy to implement
them in their classrooms. Alongside the rabbeim was the wonderful S.A.G.E program which
assisted talmidim that required outside intervention and ensured they met necesssary goals.
Every rebbe, morah, tutor, and therapist has been able to perform with perfection thanks to
the leadership and devotion of our dear Executive Director, Rabbi Fievy Lieberman, who was
ready at any given moment to do whatever it takes to enable the mechanech to accomplish
our mission of chinuch habanim.
The excellence in chinuch we pride ourselves with, always requires innovation and
implementation of the latest learning techniques. Over the course of the year we have seen
major advancements in teaching methodology and in effective ways to reach every talmid. On
all grade levels we have put much effort into developing systems that can accurately monitor
the progress of the talmidim so that we can aid any talmid that may show signs of a deficiency.
A tremendous stress was placed on the school culture and environment, as we know how
much this directly impacts the talmid’s chinuch and love for learning. A Torah Temimah boy
is a boy that’s excited to come to Yeshiva each day. The energy felt in the dining room daily
during bentching, the dancing as we prepared for zman simchaseinu , the trivia games at
the Rosh Chodesh Mesibos, our hartzige oneg Shabbos every erev Shabbos, etc. all added
so much to the positive atmosphere that fills our yeshiva. It’s truly heartwarming to watch
the talmidim come off the bus each morning with a big smile , as they sense the warmth and
excitement of the Torah Temimah family. They know how much their yeshiva cares for them
and loves each and every talmid.
We know very well, “success breeds success”. So as we enter the new school year
הבא עלינו לטובה, we look forward to continue striving and growing above and beyond, and to
continue on in producing talmidim that personify ”“חיים שיש בהם אהבת תורה ויראת שמים.

What else
is new?
Yeshiva Torah Temimah was privileged to
welcome nearly the entire Yeshiva Ruach
YChaim which closed its doors this year. Eighty
students spanning all grades were seamlessly
integrated into the YTT family. Baruch Hashem
the boys adapted with tremendous success and
it quickly became impossible to discern which
boys were new and which were there for years.
We specifically keep getting warm feedback
about the special orientation assembly held a
few days before the opening day to help the
new boys acclimate to the new building.
In the pre-school, we welcomed the
incomparable Morah Miriam to our staff
alongside our new assistants, all working
under the direction of the incredible Morah
Hindy Hilman. Her recent Zoom classes were
so popular that we offered a public class each
week so kids everywhere can enjoy them, to the
delight of tens of eager children. We are truly
thankful to boast an incredibly highly regarded
early childhood staff.

DParting is sweet sorrow the saying goes. We can’t believe that
the year תש’’פis coming to a close and we won’t be interacting
with our precious kinderlach on a daily basis. Yet it is with a
great deal of satisfaction that we see our kinderlach graduating
with so much growth and accomplishment. Our days at YTT,
be it in the physical building or in our virtual classroom, were
chock stocked with learning, creativity, fun and excitement.
For 7 months, we bonded, we connected, we learned, we explored, we grew. On
March 16th, our lives changed in an instant but Yeshiva Torah Temimah preschool
stepped right up to the plate and created a yeshiva at home with of course you
wonderful parents being partners in chinuch. Each week the bus went out to
make home deliveries and bring you all the tools you needed for "construction".
We didn’t only teach you developmental skills and social skills, kibud av vaeim and
derech eretz, but we taught you to love Hashem, love Torah, love mitzvas, love
your friend and love yourself. Building our boys with self- esteem, self-confidence
and self- worth is our trademark. At YTTAH (Yeshiva Torah Temimah at home) we
were able to continue with our construction plans overcoming all obstacles. Why?
Because our foundation was set strong and firm.
In parshas שלחwe learn about the mitzvah of challah. The posuk says
ראשית עריסותיכם חלה תרימו. Literally it means the first of your dough, you should
separate challah. In the time of the Bais Hamikdosh we would give a piece to the
Kohen, today we burn it- it is קדוש. The word עריסותיכםhas another connotation
from the word עריסה, cradle, referring to children. The first of our children (In
YTT every child is a first and like a )בן יחידwe should consecrate to the service
of Hashem. We have an obligation to be מחנךour children at a very young age.
We in yeshiva - beginning in preschool - collaborate with you, our parents, to
prepare our children in the service of Hashem. The last few months you put in
endless kochos sitting with your children at every zoom class and like you all said
at graduation “we should be sitting up there”. It was you, our parents, who heard
every class, sang every song, reviewed and supported your son and you deserve
to be sitting on stage in cap and gown because you truly are the heroes and the
graduates. You can honestly say we brought ’תרומה לה. You raised your children
with warmth, sweetness, never ending patience and love and ’בעזרת ה, you are
seeing the brocha in your labor as the posuk says להביא ברכה על בתיכם.
Have a safe and fulfilled summer and I’m looking forward to seeing you all back in
our yeshiva hakedosha in אלול.
