BVBVM e-magazine: Bhavana Jyothi

Bhavana Jyothi e magazine

Our humble and prayerful pranams to our Founder Kulapati Dr. Kanhaiyalal Maneklal Munshi 30 December, 1887- 8 February, 1971 “The Egypt of the Pharaohs, the Greece of Pericles, the Iran of Darius and the Rome of the Caesar are all dead; their life and culture are mere materials for scholarly research. But India has stood the shocks of time. Manu, Buddha, Panini, Bhasa and Kautilya are still living influences operating on life: Sri Krishna's exhortation to Arjuna still inspires the thought, hope and conduct of millions."

The words of the Buddha constantly ring in encouragement, inspiration, and strength. "No matter how hard the past has been You can always make a new beginning. " Editorial While we vented and ranted about the quarantine life hoping against hope to experience a miracle and wake up to a life far away from the dystopian nightmare, we were also blessed to discover a newfound respect for the life that was - the life that we had left behind. Certainly, the Covid pandemic taught us to value our life, not to take things for granted, and to make the most of what we have at hand. The academic year 2022-23 was in the wake of that realisation. We made up for the lost time in every way possible. Every opportunity was grabbed right from day one. Certainly, we've been in a whirlpool, racing against time, swimming against the tide but it was a roller-coaster ride we enjoyed to the core.

At the end of the two-year slumber, to come out of it all like a phoenix gave us immense satisfaction. We've tried over and over again to ingrain and imbibe the oft-spoken words of greats, "Hurdles have come and will come in the future too. But, the one who stands out hard will be the one who will sail out far.” With the stalwarts leaving us orphaned, we were left to fend for ourselves. We were novices starting afresh. But those baby steps 'had to be taken'. It was then that these words came in handy, " The best thing about existence is that any moment in time can be the point of the beginning to anything.” This magazine has been a humble attempt with a promise to better and double our efforts in the years to come. With good wishes and blessings, The English Department

From the Principal’s desk………… ‘Excellence is a continuous process and not an accident’. A P J Abdul Kalam In its early stages, human mind is a coarse grain of sand, nurturing a shell of broad spectrum of learning opportunities and experiences. It eventually gets nourished into nature’s most gifted ominous pearl of creative ideas, knowledge and critical thinking that has revolutionised the world. I am extremely sanguine that the schools of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, since its genesis for over four decades, have offered itself as a shell for sheltering & fostering human minds in their raw state to be matured into empowered innovators and discoverers. Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Poochatty, taking off the path paved by its mighty progenitor, has tried to imbibe the essence of the vibrant Bhavan’s culture. The Bhavan’s ideology of continual progress has been steered with values & conventions at its fulcrum, quality education, improving infrastructure, educational technology, teaching and learning processes as its spokes, in order to set the wheel on its track.

Aristotle once said that, “Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.” Even as we impart education to match the advancement in technology and globalisation, we lead our children with ethos of moral values and principles. We endeavour constantly to instill these qualities in our children. We pride ourselves to help them grow and develop into sensitive and responsible citizens of the next generation. Today, as we march forward through the realms of our existence, we- the Bhavans Poochatty team, once again pledge to work for every child, and in the process open new vistas in the area of education. We proudly present to you, “BHAVANA JYOTHI” , the student led magazine for the academic year 2022-‘23. Students have worked hard to bring up an exhilarating flashback of events and achievements during the academic year 2022-‘23. We have for you a wide range of poetry, facts, paintings and some informative and inspirational articles. “Happy Reading” Chitra S Nair, MSc, MEd Principal

Namaste I am glad to know that our magazine will be released shortly. I appreciate all the students who have put in a lot of efforts to make this venture a success. I congratulate each one of them and wish them the very best. I also applaud the teachers who coordinated the work to bring out this magazine. Thank you MESSAGE……. SMITHA T.V. Vice Principal

Learning is the process of constantly updating in an ever changing world. Today, the role of a school is not only to pursue academic excellence but also to empower its students to be lifelong learners. We try to provide the best possible environment for the healthy development of young children by providing a carefully planned and structured environment in which the child grows and learns in a natural way. Primary education tends to focus on basic academic learning, vocational and socialization skills, by introducing the children to the broad range of knowledge, skill and behavioural adjustment which they need to succeed in life. This year, in the primary wing, we were able to introduce different activities which could bring out the latent talents of our children. MESSAGE…….

I also express my gratitude to the parents of our students for having conferred their conviction and assurance in us. Your faith in us is our driving force. Preparation and dedication are the keys to achieve success. Have both and you will surely reach your goals. Best of luck to you ……… JYOTI A. PRIMARY IN-CHARGE
