Azerbaijan’s National Leader Heydar Aliyev studied at Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University
(known as Azerbaijan Industrial Institute back then) from 1939 to 1941.

“Azərbaycan dünyada ilk dəfə olaraq dənizin dərinliklərindən neft hasil edib. 50 il əvvəl Neft Daşları yaradılıb.
Bu dünyada ilk təcrübə idi. Bunu bizim Neft Akademiyasında təhsil almış yüksək ixtisaslı geoloqlar yarat-
mışdılar. Dənizin dərinliklərindən, mürəkkəb şəraitdə neft hasilatı - bizim neftçilərin əməyinin və qazan-
dıqları təcrübənin nəticəsidir. Bütün bu işlər olmasaydı, neft strategiyası da olmazdı. Buna görə də Azərbay-
canın yeni neft strategiyasının gerçəkləşdirilməsi bizim onilliklərdən indiyədək gördüyümüz işlərin nəticəsidir”.
“Azerbaijan was the first country to produce oil from the depth of sea. Neft Dashlari, a town made of platforms in
the mid of the sea, was set up 50 years ago. It was a unique experience in the world, made possible by the geologists
trained at our Oil Academy. Extracting oil from the sea-bed in complex conditions is the result of hard work and rich ex-
perience of our oilmen. Without them our oil strategy would have not been possible. Thus, implementing Azerbaijan’s
new oil strategy builds on all the work that we have been doing during decades.”

New trainings begin at ASOIU “eazi START” Startup and Innovation Center

Oktyabrın 2-də Azərbaycan Dövlət Neft və Sənaye Universi-
tetinin (ADNSU) “eazi START” Startap və İnnovasiya Mərkəzi
tələbələr üçün təlimlərə start verib. “İnnovativ sahibkarlıq
və startap biznesinə giriş” adlı təlim israilli mentor İqor Peer
tərəfindən keçirilib. Təlimdə öz biznesini qurmaq istəyən
gənclərə startap biznesinə giriş, ideyaların müzakirəsi, strate-
ji planlaşdırma, biznes araşdırması, biznes əlaqələri, investi-
siyaların cəlb olunması və digər modullar izah edilib. Təlim-
də həmçinin, uğurlu startap layihələrinin təcrübələrindən
bəhs edilib. Təlimin sonunda startap ideyaları olan gənclərin
layihələri dinlənilib. Oktyabrın 7-dək davam edən təlimlərin
əsas məqsədi yaradıcı gənclərin öz ideyalarını layihələndirib
kommersiya məqsədli biznes strukturlarına çevirməkdir.

“eazi START” Startup and Innovation Center of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) initiated the new
season of trainings for students on October 2. The training titled “Introduction to innovative entrepreneurship and
startup business” was led by Israeli mentor Igor Peer. Introduction to startup business, discussion of ideas, strategic
planning, business research, business relations, engagement of investments and other modules were explained to par-
ticipants willing to start their own business. The training also featured talks on the experience of foreign and successful
startup projects. At the end of the event, young people with startup ideas presented their projects. The main objective
of the trainings, that continued until October 7, is to help the creative young people project their ideas and transform
them into a business structure for commercial purposes.

ADNSU-nun rektoru, professor Mustafa Babanlı uni-
versitetin professor-müəllim heyəti və tələbələr iştirak
edib. Rektor, prof. M.Babanlı tədbir iştirakçılarını salam-
layaraq universitetdə son vaxtlar həyata keçirilən isla-
hatlar barədə məlumat verib. 2017/2018-ci tədris ilində
bakalavriat səviyyəsinə ümumilikdə 2620 nəfərin qəbul
edildiyini deyən rektor, prof. M.Babanlı ADNSU-ya qəbul

olunan tələbələrin səviyyəsinin də getdikcə yüksəldiyini qeyd edib. Hazırda qarşıda duran ən vacib məsələlərdən birinin
universitetin material-texniki bazasının gücləndirilməsi olduğunu deyən rektor M.Babanlı bunun üçün hər kafedrada
ayrı-ayrılıqda görüşlərin keçirildiyini, laboratoriyaların təkmilləşdirilməsi üçün birgə müzakirələr aparıldığını diqqətə

Open days were held at Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) on October 7. The event was attended by
Rector of ASOIU, Professor Mustafa Babanli, university’s academic staff members and students. Rector, Prof M. Babanli
greeted the attendees and provided information on recently conducted reforms. Saying overall 2620 students were
accepted to Bachelor’s degree in 2017/2018 academic year, Rector, Prof M. Babanli noted the gradually rising level of
students admitted to ASOIU. Saying one of the most vital tasks now is strengthening the material and technical base of
the university, Rector M. Babanli highlighted that meetings are organized at each department in this regard, and joint
discussions are held to improve the laboratories. In the end, students received answers to their questions.

yi gününə həsr olunmuş tədbir keçirilib. ADNSU-nun rektoru, professor Mustafa Babanlı öz çıxışında 18 oktyabr təqvim
gününün Azərbaycanın tarixində ən şanlı və əlamətdar günlərdən biri olduğunu bildirib. Azərbaycan xalqının müstəqillik
yolunda etdiyi fədakarlıqlardan, Ulu öndər Heydər Əliyevin bu yolda apardığı uğurlu siyasətdən danışan rektor M.Babanlı
dövlət müstəqilliyinin əbədi və dönməz olması üçün hər bir vətəndaşın üzərinə vəzifələrin düşdüyünü, ölkənin inkişaf et-

On October 17 Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) held an event dedicated to the State Independence
Day of Azerbaijan, which is celebrated on October 18. In his speech, ASOIU Rector, Professor Mustafa Babanli said that
October 18 is one of the most glorious and remarkable days in the history of Azerbaijan. Speaking about the struggles
of the Azerbaijani people for the sake of independence, successful policy of the Great leader Heydar Aliyev on this path,
Rector M. Babanli emphasized that each citizen should fulfill certain duties to make the state independence eternal and ir-
reversible, and everyone should play a role in the development of the country. Recalling the realities of that time, member
of Parliament M. Ibrahimgizi said the State Independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan is a great feeling that makes us all
proud. She spoke about the sacrifices that our state, which has been independent for only 26 years, made on this difficult
and honorable path. She noted that preserving the independence is the primary duty of each Azerbaijani, including the
youth. Member of Parliament, Professor Huseynbala Miralamov said that Azerbaijan gained real independence only after
the national leader Heydar Aliyev had returned to leadership. He advised the young people to preserve the independence
of the state. “To preserve the independence is harder than to gain it. In this sense, you as young people carry serious re-
sponsibilities and duties.” – said member of Parliament, Professor H.Miralamov.

andiçmə mərasimi keçirilib. Tədris işləri üzrə prorektor, dosent Qasım Məmmədov işə qəbul olunan müəllimləri təbrik
edib, onlara uğurlar arzulayıb. Daha sonra ADNSU-da ilk dəfə daimi işə qəbul olunan 15 müəllim Azərbaycan Respub-

üçün təqdimatı keçirilib. Tədbirdə çıxış edən ADNSU-nun Tər-
biyə işləri üzrə prorektoru, dosent Ata Babayev gənclərə tövsi-
yələrini verib, onları könüllü olmağa, ölkəmiz və gələcəyimiz üçün
birləşməyə, yerli və beynəlxalq tədbirlərdə Azərbaycanı layiqincə
təmsil etməyə çağırıb. “Bir” Tələbə-Könüllü proqramının yaranması
haqqında birinci kurs tələbələrinə ətraflı məlumat verən proqramın

The Presentation of “Bir” Student-Volunteer Program for first-year students was held at Azerbaijan State Oil and In-

Professor Ata Babayev gave advice to young people, encouraged them to become volunteers, unite for our country and
future, fairly represent Azerbaijan in domestic and international events. Providing freshmen with comprehensive infor-
mation on the establishment of “Bir” Student-Volunteer Program, manager of the program Janoghlan Ilyasov said the
initiative was offered by the Ministry of Education to enable students to develop themselves and gain experience. He
also spoke about the establishment of the program, its activities, objectives, advantages and opportunities offered to
the youth. The event was continued by interesting performances of program coordinators at the university.

Onishenko, Rector of Poltava National Technical University named after Yuri Kondratyuk, Ukraine. The meeting featured
discussions on cooperation directions and perspectives between the universities, as well as joint training of specialists,
student exchange and other topics. Saying that there are always a lot of students from Ukraine among the university’s
international students, Rector of ASOIU, Professor M. Babanli expressed his intention to continue the collaboration in
student mobility and emphasized the significance of implementing joint projects. V. Onishenko, Rector of Poltava Nation-
al Technical University named after Yuri Kondratyuk, said they cooperate with many European countries, highlighting

Neft və Sənaye Universitetinin (ADNSU) Məzunları və
Dostları Assosiasiyasının Nizamnaməsini təsdiq edib.
Qeyd etmək lazımdır ki, o vaxtlar Azərbaycan Neft və
Kimya İnstitutu adlanan ali məktəbi 65 anqolalı gənc
bitirib ki, onların arasında 38 il bu ölkənin dəyişilməz
prezidenti olan Joze Eduardu duş Santuş da var. Assosi-
asiya Anqola Respublikasında yaradılmış və xarici ölkə
məzunlarını birləşdirən ilk və yeganə belə qurumdur.
Təşkilatın ADNSU ilə əlaqələrin qorunub saxlanması
və inkişaf etdirilməsi, Azərbaycan və Anqolada müx-
təlif istiqamətlər üzrə, o cümlədən anqolalı gənclərin
ADNSU-da ali təhsil alması üçün birgə layihələrin

The Ministry of Justice and Human Rights of the Republic of Angola approved on October 10, 2017, the Regulation of
the Alumni & Friends Association of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU). It is worth noting that 65 An-
golans graduated from ASOIU named as Azerbaijan Oil and Chemistry Institute back then. Among them is Jose Eduardo
dos Santos, who has been the president of Angola for 38 years. The Association is the first and only entity established
in the Republic of Angola, which brings together the alumni of foreign countries. Some objectives of the organization
are to preserve and develop relations with ASOIU, implement joint projects in different directions in Azerbaijan and
Angola, as well as enable Angolan youth to receive higher education at ASOIU. Moreover, the Association has declared
the establishment of partnership relations with educational institutions, state and private entities in the oil and
mining sector of Angola, Azerbaijan and other countries as one of its main goals. The activities of the Association are
guided by principles of democracy, freedom, solidarity, mutual respect and equality. The presentation ceremony re-
garding the official commencement of the activity of the Association is planned to be held soon.

- Currently, Azerbaijan is one of the energy producing states at the world scale. The capacity of our energetic sys-
tem is more than Georgia and Armenia have together. We succeeded to increase energy extraction within a short
period of time, that it is one of a kind all over the globe. Moreover, a great number of hydropower plants are being
constructed. Experience of recent years shows that construction of low-power plants from geographical point of
view is more efficient economically and ecologically. It is advisable to increase the number of such plants in the
future.

Mr. Abdullayev firstly associates all the great achievements, gained throughout his life, with working hard and
constant self-improvement. The scientist’s advice to young specialists and to students is also in this direction. The
most necessary thing is labor – no matter it’s energetics or any other field.

- A lifetime personal stipend has been provided to me. I believe it is a very important state award. I am grateful
to our President and Rector, as they have always highly appreciated my activities, be it in the fields of education,
science or statehood.

Student ID cards of the University of Strasbourg
were then presented to UFAZ students. Five stu-
dents of UFAZ, who took the 1st place in the
intellectual game What? Where? When? were
awarded at the event. UFAZ students performed
a French song at the end of the ceremony.

Regarded as a true manifestation of cooperation
and friendship between the two countries, UFAZ
has provided Azerbaijani students with the same
rights as French students by presenting student
ID cards of the University of Strasbourg. Thus,
wide horizons are now open to UFAZ students,
who have the same exact privileges with French
students inside the university, in campuses, li-
braries, and even in transports, and UFAZ prom-
ises young people great prospects. Although
student ID cards of the University of Strasbourg
offer a variety of benefits to Azerbaijani students,
the leading role belongs to the Azerbaijani gov-
ernment, which has brought the advanced edu-
cation of France to the country, thereby enabling
120 people among Azerbaijani youth to benefit
each year from such education at no cost.

purpose of the competition is to identify, evaluate in line
with international standards and award the scientists, who

scientific results in 2016, who have scientific papers and

publications indexed on famous databases with impact fac-
tor, whose scientific writings are used as reference and who
are distinguished for their high scientific and organizational
