immediately became a passionate jazz devotee and a staple of the OJF
audience. Louise loved attending OJF concerts and her warm, exuberant
smile lit up every venue she graced.

Louise passed away in July 2011 at the age of 56 following a courageous
battle with lymphoma. This scholarship has been established in her honour
to support the development of young jazz artists from Western Canada.

GARY CLAY IN MEMORIAM

On Saturday, Sept 6th, 2014 the Jazz Festival lost one of its
longest serving volunteers, Gary Clay. He was a long serving
Director on the Board of Directors, he worked tirelessly
designing and organizing box office control systems, and
shared his vast knowledge and passionate love for jazz with
everybody he knew.
