What is AquaTherm testing?
Professor Mark Quinn and his students test the AquaTherm device, a device used to purify water and is used in underdeveloped countries. The testing is part of nalizing the business plan. The project started in the Fall 2011 semester as part of the Sales for Social Impact class.

Tuskegee Airmen
In 1944, Calvin Moret joined the military. He trained as a Tuskegee Airman in the Army Air Corps, Military Pilot.
On March 28, 2007, The Tuskegee Airmen were presented the Congressional Gold Medal in Washington, DC.
Moret is a talented woodworker, he carved the staff of the new University Mace which was unveiled for the first time at the Xavier’s Black History Convocation on February 14, 2012.

Louisiana Engineering Advancement Program (LEAP) is a program for high school students from the 8th to 11th grades. The program offers classes in Math, Science, English, Computer Science, and Eningineering.

Confucius Institute
The Xavier University of Louisiana Confucius Institute is partnering with Hebei University in China. This marks the first Confucius Institute among the nation’s HBCUs and of universities in Louisiana. The Confucius Institute prepares students to become global leaders, and to teach Chinese language, culture, and economic development courses to Xavier students and the surrounding communities, involves local groups, government agencies, and businesses. It also aims to facilitate research activities in the above areas, and promote increased understanding between the United States and China.

Senior Protest
SGA, students protest administration’s decision to limit tickets.
“Carrying a banner and sign declaring ‘You Only Walk Once,’ more than 200 angry students–most of them graduating seniors–rallied in front of the Barn on October 15 to protest the Xavier adminstration’s recent announcement that the opening of the university’s new Convocation Center meant commencement attendance must be limited. The administration said each graduate will be given only five tickets for the May 11, 2013, commencement ceremony because seating in the new center is limited.”
