The Free School Magazine, Vol. 1 No.1, March 1909, EDITORIAL There is very little need for us to write an introduction to this magazine. It has been a scheme which many of us have been thinking of for a long time. We call it the Free School Magazine and the name explains what it is and what will it be found in it. It is devoted mostly to school news, but there are also two or three pieces which will be of interest to everyone. We had hoped to be able to put in an “Old Boys” column but could not, unfortunately, find anybody to take charge of that part. Perhaps before our next issue an “old boy” will kindly come forward and volunteer to do this? We propose publishing the Magazine three times a year, that is once a term. We confidently expect that next time we shall sell double as many copies. All “Old Boys” who wish to become subscribers (50 cents a year, 20 cents each copy) can do so by sending their names to the Secretary. We will however not waste any time in anticipations but will leave the Magazine to the friendly criticism of its readers. Finally we must not forget to thank the numerous contributors who came forward in such large numbers that we have had to hold over some pieces for the next issue. May the school magazine have a long life and never lack subscribers and contributors!
