Biographical Sketch

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen
to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29: 11-13

Rev. Derrick D. Webb Sr., was born December 28, 1969 under the union of his father and mother,
Wilse Webb Jr. and Rev. Shirley Webb. He is the older of two children and was led to accept Jesus
Christ as his Lord and Savior at the age of 10 years old from his mother. In 1998, Rev. Webb met and
fell in love with his wife Patricia Brumfield and on May 13, 2000 they were married in Holy Matrimo-
ny. Rev. Webb is happily married and to their union God blessed them with four beautiful children, Al-
vin Lewis, Darnelle Micah Webb, Derrick Darnell Webb Jr., and Derrin Christopher Webb.

Rev. Derrick Webb began his education journey at Southern University at New Orleans where God
showed favor for him to go to school on an athletic scholarship for basketball. In 1997, he graduated
from Southern University at New Orleans with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Later,
God sent him back to school where he attended the University of Phoenix where he graduated with a
double Master in Business Administration and Healthcare Management on March 2004. After accepting
his calling to preach God’s Word in 2014 at the Greater Liberty Baptist Church, God decided to put
Rev. Webb in school again at Union Baptist College & Theological Seminar. He will be graduating
from Union Baptist College & Theological Seminary in May 2018 with a Master of Divinity.

In 2014, God led Rev. Webb and a close friend of his (Johanna DeFlanders) to organize a corporation to
do greater work to help the mentally challenged and the physically disabled. Rev. Webb, Mrs. DeFlan-
ders and Rev. Webb’s wife (Patricia Webb) prayed and fasted and sought God’s face on the matter and
Total Assurance Inc. was established. Rev. Webb consistently says that Total Assurance business is a
ministry because not only are the disabled ministered to, but the employees also get to experience God’s
love and favor through their employment. God has blessed Total Assurance to be located in Metairie,
La., Lafayette, La., and Houston, TX.

Ministry Experience:
As a child, Rev. Webb attended Asia Baptist Church and was under the leadership of Rev. Zebedee
Bridges where he sang in the youth and young adult choirs and was a part of many youth activities. Lat-
er God sent him to another assignment to serve Him at the Mount Moriah Baptist Church where he
served as a deacon for many years and gave services to the Board of Trustees as the President during his
latter time there at the church. He was under the leadership of the Rev. Neal and Elder Donald Robinson
during his time at Mount Moriah Baptist Church. God later moved him and his family’s membership to
Greater Liberty Baptist Church under the leadership of Doctor Calvin W. Woods, Jr. Under Dr. Woods’
leadership, he served as a deacon for many years and was a faithful member of the Men’s Ministry and
became their director until God called him into the preaching ministry on May 4, 2014. He was licensed
to preach at Greater Liberty and ordained on Friday, May 27, 2016 by the First District Missionary Bap-
tist Association.

God has overwhelmed him with many life blessings and wonderful moments; but on December 2, 2017
(around 5pm), he received the call to be the proud Pastor of Second Zion Baptist Church # 1. This was
his greatest life achievement of them all that God would choose such an instrument as he to oversee the
people of God at Second Zion Baptist Church No. 1. To God Be the Glory!

“But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.”
(Hebrews 13:16)
