My name is Bea Claryssa J. Luig, I was born on the 25th of January
2003 in Heramil’s Clinic, Polomolok South Cotabato. As an only child, my
parents have always been supportive of my life choices. I grew up
sheltered and it’s no surprise that they would be overprotective of me.
My father’s name is Arnulfo B. Luig, and my mother’s name is
Rhodora J. Luig. Both are self-employed, and with my parent’s
perseverance to secure my future, they are now running their own
successful business. They have endlessly provided me with the things I
need and want. Which motivated me to focus on my goal and work hard
for my ambition.
I aspire to become a Dermatologist someday. Treatments and
diseases involving the skin has piqued my interest ever since I experienced
my first breakout. Not that I cared, of course, however, my mom told me
to take better care of myself, for beauty is an asset. We would visit my
dermatologist several times in a week, both for my consultation and
facial cleaning. I never really imagined myself aiming for a specific course,
which was why at that time, I’ve decided to let my mom choose my course
for me instead. But when I saw the way Dra. Would observe and diagnose
my problem, I suddenly felt the will to become like her one day.
Dra. Balay became my inspiration. Studies relating the skin, skin
diseases, and even clinical procedures would be my pastime whenever I’m
online. At first, I was quite ignorant of what I see on YouTube, but the
longer I watched, the more I became addicted to it. From cleaning black
heads, to pulling out in-grown. Every scene I found disgusting from the
past, became normal to me.
I’ve learned how to love most of my flaws and imperfections, and
I also got to debunk my beliefs that a perfect, pore-less skin existed,
which was one of my insecurities back then. I’m currently expanding my
knowledge regarding the human skin, and I can’t wait to learn more!

It was a harsh change of environment
for most of the people, especially
students when it was announced that
Online classes will be considered as the
new normal. Students whose parents
can’t afford gadgets and Wi-Fi were the
ones suffering the most. It took several
months before I’ve completely adjusted
to online learning. Luckily, the
platforms we’re using aren’t that
difficult to manage.
It took several months before I’ve completely adjusted to online learning.
Luckily, the platforms we’re using aren’t that difficult to manage. As a
person who easily gets distracted, I would consider online classes as a
challenge itself. It’s literally a 1v1 battle between me and my capability to
concentrate during classes. Although staying at home for school is much
better than waking up very early to prepare for face-to-face classes, being
all alone during a lesson with no one to talk to, makes me exhausted for no
reason.
10 yrs from now...
10 years from now, I am already a Licensed pharmacist. Although, I’m still
studying for my specialization under my course of dermatology. Even if I’m still a
student by then, I know that I’ll already have a clinic, and a pharmacy of my own. I
see myself helping other people who are suffering, the way I used to when I was
younger, I will help all my patients by providing them the information they need
from the diagnosis I have discovered regarding their problem and provide them
the medicines they have to use.
I’m proud to say that by 10 years from now, I’m already living independently,
and no longer depend my lifestyle based on what my parents provide me, instead,
by my capability to work hard and earn money, all by myself. By this time around,
I know that my parents are satisfied and are continuously sending me their love
and support, while looking up to what will happen further in my future.

What really makes you an SLSPIan?
SLSPI holds on to its mission, which is to provide quality, Christian education and to develop
the moral, social, physical, spiritual, and cultural values in molding community-oriented and
responsible citizens of the Philippines. As a student studying in St. Lorenzo School of Polomolok
Inc. for more or less than 5 years, I’ve been taught about the importance of personal beliefs,
values, attitudes, and behavior, which molded me to who I am today. The way I affiliate myself to
people reflects a lot on how my personality was raised in school. I have developed the ability to
multitask, perform with expertise, communicate fluently, report professionally, and even cram in
the midst of exams. My flexibility even prospered the moment online classes started. I have
become an effective leader who can manage a group despite the majority of members
procrastinating, which speaks a lot about how SLSPI creates an EXCELLENT SLSPIan.
How has the pandemic brought out the best in you?
I've learned how to be independent because, during face-to-face classes, I
always have someone to rely on whenever an activity is given. However,
now that I'm all alone at home, I have to do my very best to finish my tasks
without any help or assistance. I learned so much about the significance of
staying awake during lessons and participating during classes. Because of
the pandemic, I've learned how to take care of myself even more, and
invest in the things that I find interesting. This made me develop skills I
never expected to flourish, like cooking for example!
What significant changes have you observed from yourself?
After stepping on senior high school and surrounding myself with positivity
from the new friends I've made, I have become more outgoing, I'm no longer
afraid of reciting, and I get to express myself loud and clear without fear. I
guess the phrase "Surround yourself with people who make you happy.
People who make you laugh, who help you when you're in need. People who
would never take advantage of you. People who genuinely care. Because
they are the ones worth keeping in your life, while everyone else is just
passing through." would sum it all up.

How prepared are you going to college (scale 1-10)
I would say it’s an 8? The thing is, I do find
myself ready for college, however, there are
times that I feel like I’ll have a hard time living
independently and away from my parents
Which has really shaped you as a person: family, school, or church?
My parents obviously. They were the first people in my life to
correct me on my mistakes and were the ones who taught me the
difference between right and wrong. They made me reflect on my
wrongdoings and taught me values when I was young- even now!
Parents will never stop nagging and lecturing you whenever they
know you did something bad. And I guess that played a big role in
how I tend to be more careful on what I do and say to people.

i am Nicole Joyce Dumpa, a grade 12 student at St. Lorenzo School of
Polomolok, Inc. I am taking the Science, Technology, Engineering, and
Mathematics (STEM) Strand. My friends call me "Nikkie," but I go by
"Collette" at home. I was born on May 30th, 2003.
I was an active student before. I was part of the RCY in our school, and
there I learned several ways to perform first aid. I was once part of the
student council too. My term was not that long, but it sure gave me
experience in life.
But as time passed, I became more reserved. I started to feel anxious
about talking with people I barely knew. I started to hate the idea of
going out, hanging out with my friends and just breathing the same air
as people I didn’t know. That is why I isolated myself in our house for a
long time, but I have overcome those fears that I had. Now I've started
to go out and spend time with my friends again, and I'm happy.
In the future, I wish to have a career that helps people. That is why I
plan to take a BS in psychology and become a psychiatrist. I want people
to understand that their existence matters and they are never a burden
in this world.
My main belief in life is "Have courage, and be kind." I got this from the
movie "Cinderella." Ever since I realized that life is tough, this is what
I've always had in mind and put in everything I do. To put myself in
other people’s shoes, to never throw a fit over unreasonable things, and
to be a kind individual who helps and spreads love to everyone around
me.

By the time the pandemic hit the
Philippines, Schools were shut down for
months. When the government
announced that students can study
again, we were told that well be
conducting our classes through online
platforms.
At first, I was very excited because having online classes means staying at home while
studying. But as time goes by, I realize that I am not happy with the setup anymore. I
started to hate online classes because they give me more stress as the days pass by. I am
having a hard time balancing my time at home and my time for classes. Long story short,
online classes are draining me. It was difficult for me to learn during online classes. There
were times when I would break down because of too much stress. But as I’ve entered my
second year of online classes, I’ve already accepted the situation. I am now able to grasp
the idea of our lectures, but not like how I learn in a face-to-face setting. I have realized
the concept of online classes and have been able to understand uncontrollable situations
like having a slow internet connection or having a lag device. Every day is a battle for
students like me, but we have to face this situation because it is the only way to study
while having a pandemic.
10 yrs from now...
After I graduate senior high school, I would like to get into a college and take up
BS Psychology. I don’t have a dream school for college but I hope I get into a good
one and have good credentials. It’ll take me about 8-10 years for me to become a
psychiatrist, then I’ll have to pass the board exam to practice my profession.
10 years from now, I can see myself helping people who have trouble
understanding their feelings. A citizen of the Philippines that is being helpful in
the society. I hope to have my own clinic here in my hometown Polomolok
because as of the moment, we don’t have one. And 10 years from now, I may still
be single, but I am sure that I have a stable career and a successful individual.
qquueessttiioonn&&aannsswweerr
What really makes you an SLSPIan?
The determination I have, the guts, the will to finish all my tasks, and, of course,
the ability to cram all my work despite being time-pressured, are what I think to
make me a SLSPIan. SLSPI is one great school. It is one of the best schools in our
town, Polomolok. SLSPI has shaped me to become a better individual, a productive
one, and an individual who is able to help others in times of need. SLSPI gave a lot
of students a good future. We may be struggling in our studies right now, but I
know it is the only way for us to excel in our future careers. SLSPIans are
resourceful students, and I am proud to say that I am and will forever be a
SLSPIan.
How has the pandemic brought out the best in you?
Being alone and being lonely are two different things. During the pandemic, I would constantly
think of things as if I was alone in life. Thankfully, I have people around me who genuinely care
about and love me; they made me feel special, and slowly, by embracing life, I found myself smiling
again, laughing in situations I never imagined I would laugh at, I just come to a conclusion that I
found myself. That’s when I realized the situation was not bad at all. I started to feel the
surrounding love, not letting any negative energy touch me. If ever it did, I would simply
acknowledge it and go on with life. The pandemic made me realize various things, including that,
indeed, there will always be a rainbow after the rain. The pandemic has been hard on everybody.
It brought massive changes to everyone’s lives. Despite the bad effects the pandemic brought,
it still brought good things. After all, if you can stay positive in a negative situation, you win.
What significant changes have you observed from yourself?
The significant change I’ve observed in myself is that I am able to understand
the people around me more and I am also capable of understanding every
situation God puts me in. I've also become more timid than I was before. It
might be a bad trait I developed over time, but I’ve been fond of this version
of myself. These changes may be for the betterment of myself, given the
situation we have right now. I know I need to improve my social skills and I am
working on it. But I can say that I’m fine with the version of myself right now.
These changes are what define me and what makes me a person.
qquueessttiioonn&&aannsswweerr i
How prepared are you going to college (scale 1-10)
On a scale of 1-10, I would give it an 8 for my preparedness and
readiness to enter college. I don't have a choice because I know I'll
have to take and study for college after I graduate from senior
high school. I would give myself an 8 because I am ready and excited
to become a college student, and the remaining 2 points is because I
am scared to enter college and I am uncertain about the career
path I'm taking.
Which has really shaped you as a person: family, school, or church?
I believe that what really shaped me as a person is my family. You
see, I spend most of my time in the house. I go out often, but I
usually prefer being at home. My parents taught me various
things in life. I am what I am right now because of their guidance
towards me while growing up. I may have made wrong decisions in
life, but that’s all on me after all. That’s part of the journey of
life.

My name is Lyka Marielle J. Sayson. I was born on October 15, 2003, in
Polomolok, Philippines. I am a graduating student taking stem at St. Lorenzo
School of Polomolok, Inc. I am the third of four children, all of whom are
female. My father works as a tricycle driver, while my mother works as a
Dolefil employee. I was born, raised, and have lived in Polomolok for about 18
years. My mother's side is considerably closer to me than my father's side. My
father's dream is to be an engineer, and I aspire to be one as well.
I can summarize my whole personality in five words. I am an introvert person.
Being an introvert is a big burden in my life. Since I was in elementary I find it
hard to communicate with people which leads me to have only 2 to 3 friends.
I don't have the confidence to speak as well as I do in myself. I don't know
how to put my thoughts into words, and whenever I try to convey myself to
someone, it constantly gets misconstrued. I suppose I'm not very good at
expressing myself. However, my inability to express myself helps me learn to
listen. In every conversation I've had, I'm the one who always has her ears on.
I always love to listen to every word, thought, feeling, and experience
someone might be ready to spill off cause I don’t what them to feel as if
they are unworthy of being heard. I've learned to appreciate those who listen
to me even if they don’t exactly know what I felt, but the fact that they are
willing to listen has left a soft spot in me. I am also a competitive person. I
despise failure, and that is what I hate about myself. I'm not talented; in fact,
I don't have any talent. I don't consider singing to be my talent since talent,
to me, is something you are exceptionally good at, not just something you
know.
My core philosophy in life is that everything should be in harmony. To
achieve success, people must maintain a sense of balance in all aspects of
their lives, including society, family, career, friendship, and others. Being
determined to succeed does not imply alienating everyone and trampling on
others to get there. Success, on the other hand, is about admitting your
weaknesses and accepting support from people who sincerely want to help
you. Life is not a bed of roses, and obstacles and hardships are an inevitable
part of it.
DAY 1 DAY 2 DAY 3 NARRATIVE REPORT
MONDAY TUESDAY WEDNESDAY
NARRATIVE REPORT DAY 4 DAY 5 FACTS!
THURSDAY FRIDAY
ONLINcElassesE X P E R I E N C E S D U R I N G
In this circumstance, there are two critical
issues that I appreciate. First, there is
continuity in academic teaching, and second,
having a few hours covered with
responsibility, whether it's studying, working
on group projects, or finishing individual
assignments. I believe that such obligations
allow us to divert our attention away from
the seemingly never-ending days.
Some of the major benefits of online learning that I see are that it provides a much more relaxed and flexible learning
environment, that it fosters greater time management and responsibility as a whole, and that it ultimately allows us to create
and enjoy a schedule that best fits with our day-to-day activities. It also helps you build self-discipline by planning your day
and tasks around class hours. What I also like about learning online is that I'm not under as much pressure to present myself as
an exceptional student, so I can relax and think more freely, whereas, in a classroom setting, I and other students have to pace
ourselves to think, which generates stress and anxiety for most of us. I've never felt more at ease studying at home.
On the negative side, as compared to learning in a physical classroom, online classes appear more challenging because you
don't get the hands-on learning that you do in a physical classroom. As a student, my online learning experience has been even
busier than attending traditional classes on campus in person. Aside from these, there may be several technical difficulties.
Aside from the issue of slow and unstable internet, which causes videos to freeze and streaming to be disconnected, there may
be issues with ambient noises that are excessively distracting. Dogs barking, tricycles passing by, and construction noises from
the neighbor, to name a few. And, because I'm studying at home, I'm prone to feeling sleepy and lazy.
Learning online at home does not have the same feel as learning in a classroom with other students. Students and professors
can only communicate via video calls and social media platforms. Overall, In my experience with online classes, the good far
outweighs the bad. Although it can be challenging at first, once you get used to the setting, there are more advantages to
realize than disadvantages.
10 yrs from now...
As a child, everyone dreams of a bright future full with luxury, fame, and fortune.
However, as one gets older, dreams give way to more practical goals such as a career
after college, a nice apartment, and a family. Everyone, regardless of age, values
professional success. But what I seek in life is more than just professional
accomplishment and enjoyment. It is more than just what appears to be content in our
lives from the outside. After ten years, I envision myself with a stable profession that
pays well, a loving family, and a deeper understanding of life, which will help in my
search for peace. They say that in life, we all make choices, but our choices eventually
shape who we are.
During my childhood days, I found myself interested in fixing broken things and things
related to engineering like cement, that’s not surprising taking into account what my
father dreamt of, being an engineer. After ten years, I'd like to have a respectable and
stable source of income. I am not emphasizing wealth; money in the required amount
suffices. I'd like to pursue a career that not only pays well but also keeps my curiosity
alive. When one enjoys one's task, it becomes enjoyable. Whether or not my future
career is fun to me, I am determined to learn in the next ten years how to fulfill my
responsibilities effectively even in difficult situations. In the future, I will follow my
father as well as my dream to become an engineer.

What really makes you an SLSPIan?
Coming from a respective school with such an overwhelming
achievement in the past years is a great start and opportunity
for me. Being an SlSPIan is not about being smart in academics, it is
about the values that SLSPI taught to each one of us. Keeping the
integrity of the school with our actions as well as being able to
influence others and be a good role model, is what I believe makes me
an SLSPIan.
How has the pandemic brought out the best in you?
Throughout this pandemic, my life has been a roller coaster ride. It brings a
negative impact on my life but at the same time it brought me up into a new
beginning. I've been secluded from everyone for the past two years. I learned
a lot from that experience while also discovering my true self. I find hobbies
like learning piano, bringing back my interest in playing guitar, finding
different genres of music and convincing myself that I like those, being able to
be active in social media and interact with my online friends, and most
importantly is bringing back my old self which I lost some years ago.
What significant changes have you observed from yourself?
Significant changes I observed from myself are
having a different view on things and being
mature. I know when to act based on the
circumstances. I’ve become more understanding
and being able to express gratitude consistently.
qquueessttiioonn&&aannsswweerr i
How prepared are you going to college (scale 1-10)
On a scale of 1-10, I would give myself a 7. After all, I don’t think I learned much
this year because I lost my motivation. I always have this thought that I might
fail, that I won't be able to endure or perform well in college. I lost my trust in
myself and it is crucial because entering college is not would be easy as it is. You
need to focus, you need to have a vision, which is meant to guide you and help you
achieve the sole purpose for joining college and pursue careers of your dream
and most importantly, is to have faith in yourself to overcome all of the
challenges you meet along the journey because at the end of the day all you have
is yourself.
Which has really shaped you as a person: family, school, or church?
People believe that the environment and people with whom you surround yourself are important
in someone's life. When we are exposed to negative influences, we tend to become rebellious and
unconcerned about our future. Being surrounded by positive influences, on the other hand,
makes us more appreciative and motivated to accomplish. I learned a lot from everyone in my
life and the environment I grew up in, which formed me into the person I am now. What influence
me and shaped me as a person are my family and church. My family taught me how to value
relationships. They taught me to value relationships with my friends, siblings, cousins, and
everyone, I met In my life. They taught me to appreciate things and be grateful for what I had.
Church, on the other hand, taught me that prayer and a connection with God are all you need
to live a better, more peaceful, and happy life.

weekend, and we would occasionally play with my cousins and friends.
During my junior high school years, I spent most of my time with a
friend, wandering around campus and occasionally staying inside our
room talking or watching movies with our classmates. In summer, most
of the time, we stay home because all of them have work. We rarely
have a family vacation. Reading books, watching movies, and hanging out
with my friends are some of my favorite pastimes. One of my
weaknesses is that I am not a person who has confidence. I am shy
when I talk to people I’m not close to or in front of the public. I always
get so nervous about little things too. I am an introverted person and
not very independent. I want to try to get out of my comfort zone, but
I am afraid and think I am not ready. I am the one who has a big dream
and is trying to achieve it. My laziness always tries to destroy my spirit.
but, I have friends with whom I occasionally assume their extrovert
personalities and allow myself to be carefree. A family that believed in
my ability to succeed in life. He encouraged me to try new things and
always told me that I could do it. My brother, in particular, has been of
great assistance because whenever he sees me, he usually comes up to
me and asks me questions and gives me advice, even sending me bible
verses to uplift and console me. My family is my motivation.

This pandemic brought us a lot of
challenges in life. During the online
class, I experience crying about small
things questioning if I can do it or not
overcome all of the difficult things. I've
had the experience of not wanting to go
to class because it makes me
uncomfortable and stresses me out.
I've dealt with some of the most common issues that students face. No
internet connection, having a hard time doing the activities given, adjusting to
an online class. A mix of good and bad experiences. Your mental health is at
risk. You have problems, lack sleep, and have difficulty understanding the
lessons. I'm not used to learning virtually and won't be able to keep up with
the lesson right away.Despite this, online education taught me to manage my
time, learn new things, and prioritize and organize my tasks. The online course
encourages me to branch out and attempt new things. When you get used to
this online class, you will enjoy it and take it as a challenge to yourself,
thinking that it will help you and that you will try new things.
10 yrs from now...
My plan after high school is to study to become a professional medtech. Medtechs
are highly skilled healthcare professionals who look for the presence or absence
of disease and provide data that helps physicians determine the best treatment
for their patients. It also helps physicians plan their appropriate treatment for
patients. After graduating, I plan to study pre-med and finish all the
requirements needed to become a medtech and work.
qquueessttiioonn&&aannsswweerr
What really makes you an SLSPIan?
As an SLSPI student, you must have a strong
desire to learn new things. As an SLSPIan, you must
be able to work in a group, motivate people, be
effective in a group setting and be polite and helpful
to all of your classmates.
How has the pandemic brought out the best in you?
As a student dealing with troubles, stress, and other issues, this
pandemic is a challenge to me. However, this pandemic brought
out the best in me, causing me to be more resilient and
motivated. To cherish all the people around me and to become
more understanding. During the pandemic, I care about my family
more and I get closer to them. I also enjoy spending time with
them.
What significant changes have you observed from yourself?
Significant differences I've seen in me, includes the fact that I'm now a
very introverted person, as opposed to the previous year when I wanted
to converse and make friends with everyone I met. And now I like to spend
most of my time at home. As a senior high school student using this online
platform for studying and learning, I have difficulties understanding the
lessons well. I am not a fast learner, but this online class gives us time to
watch the recording to understand the lesson and study the topics that
were discussed.
qquueessttiioonn&&aannsswweerr i
How prepared are you going to college (scale 1-10)
7, because in this situation now, I am not ready and I
am still not sure of my course and which school I want
to go to. Because of this online class, I have doubts
about myself if I can do it and whether I am ready for
the next challenge in my life, which is going to college.
Which has really shaped you as a person: family, school, or church?
All of them shaped me as a person in different ways. In school, I learn to be a
hardworking student, how to manage my time, and participate in every activity
given. Family is the one thing that is always there for you no matter what,
especially in this pandemic, when we have faced many challenges and realized that if
we try and never give up, good things will happen. And the church, a place called
home because it provides peace and comfort, a place where everyone goes to
worship; he is the one with whom I can share my worries and put my trust and who
always has my back and loves me more than I love myself. There will be no
judgments.

going to Qatar, while my dad is working in Gensan and only comes home
every Saturday. My sister who is 4 years older than me is studying her

My hobbies are reading, watching series and writing poems. I’m not really
sporty cause I get tired easily and I sweat a lot. Last year I lost a lot
of weight quickly, My parents got worried and decided to bring me to
the hospital for a check-up, there we found out that I have a thyroid-
gland disease called hyperthyroid. Hyperthyroid is the overproduction of
thyroid hormone, one of its symptoms is losing weight and also the
throat is slightly bigger than others, this disease is not easily cured and
might trigger again that’s why I need to drink and maintain my medicine
to calm my hormones.

My experience during online class is that
It’s not easy as I thought it’d be,
sometimes I’d unknowingly skip my class
because I was still asleep if not, I’d
sometimes miss the attendance even
though I’m in class cause I fell asleep.
During face to face days, I and my friends
often fantasize about
online class thinking how easy it is because we’d
just stay at home and face through the computer
and we can do what we want and not get caught,
but now that we’re in this situation we now
realized how important face to face learning is.

o I will watch documentaries and other educational videos about animals.
• I will practice skills.
o I will read articles and books about animals and medicine.
o I will keep in mind the things that I have learned
• I will get experience.
o I will earn my degree of veterinary medicine

What really makes you an SLSPIan?
For me, being a student in SLSPI makes you a SLSPIan
but, it doesn’t end like that. Being a SLSPIan is more
than what we’ve imagined being resilient, competitive,
respectful, and respecting the values of the school is
what makes us a SLSPIan.
How has the pandemic brought out the best in you?
I think it’s by spending more time alone thinking. Sometimes
it’s not good to think too much especially in our mental
health, but sometimes it helps. It helped me realize about the
things I should improve and work more about it also helped me
adjust to this new normal and be ready for whatever might
happen.
What significant changes have you observed from yourself?
I have observed that I became more mature, not
only by age but also mentally and emotionally, I
have realized the greater responsibilities I have
to face and also I realized that I should think
more seriously about my future.
qquueessttiioonn&&aannsswweerr i
How prepared are you going to college (scale 1-10)
I think I am mentally and emotionally prepared but still, I
have struggles regarding the school, still unsure of the
school I should attend since my course is not available in
other schools. On a scale of 1-10 I think I’m an 8 I am
prepared but financially I think I am not since lately we
have had a lot of financial struggle.
Which has really shaped you as a person: family, school, or church?
For me, I think my friends really shaped me as a person, compared
to my family and the church I am more comfortable and open with
my friends. Our different perspectives made me realize that there
is a lot we should realize about when facing a situation, whenever
I and my friends share our experiences and learnings it made me
realize that understanding is something we should think more
about.

On October 2, 2021, at 7 am the researchers were bound to
meet at Mahintana Foundation Inc with Sir Reyman Rusty
Jayme and Sir Iyad, in less than 15 minutes we arrived at our
destination Gully 113AB. After arriving we prepared
ourselves and the items we might need to be provided by the
Mahintana Foundation, after that we started our transect
walk with prayer and proceeded on our assigned task.
After arriving inside the Gully 113AB we were assigned to
observe and take pictures of everything we see that
including all the animal's plants and other organisms
involved after a couple of minutes walking in the Gully we
noticed nets on the surface of the soil at first we thought it
was things carried by the flood of the heavy rain but then
sir Iyad, BSBA major in Agronomy the representative that
accompanied us that day explained that nets were used for
earth matting, earth matting is used for intervention in
gully erosion. After more than an hour of observing the
Gully 113AB, we saw a white-tailed kite flying across the
Gully. Fortunately, sit Jayme caught pictures of the bird
after a while we again spotted a white-tailed kite flying and
Sir Jayme told us that it was the baby birds that we saw, we
were mesmerized by the sight of the birds and their
beautiful appearance.
At 8:30 am we finished our transect walk and got back on
the Mahintana Foundation, after arriving we discussed our
experiences relating to our first transect walk while
taking the snacks and drinks offered to us, after a while of
discussion we decided to go home around 9 am. After that we
worked more on our research, we started working on
chapters 4 and 5, our surveys, and other works we were
assigned. After a lot of work, we finished our research and
were scheduled for the defense last November 17, 2021. Our
defense was successful and our panels and research
advisers congratulated us.

My name is Mia Chenni Dolauta, a grade 12 Stem 2 student at St.

18 years old. I live in Polomolok, South Cotabato. My height is 5’1 and
my weight is 40kg. Roman Catholic is my religion. I can speak Tagalog,
English, and Cebuano. My hobbies are watching a movie, reading
mysteries, and sleeping. I have loving parents and I have 2 siblings, a
sister, and a brother, I am the youngest. My Mother’s name is Ma. Girlie
S. Dolauta, my father is Jefrie A. Dolauta, my sister is Glady Elaissa S.
Dolauta, and my brother’s name is Jasper Clyde S. Dolauta. I graduated
elementary at Polomolok Central Elementary school in 2016. From the
time I graduated from elementary, I started studying high school at St.
Lorenzo School of Polomolok and now I'm a graduating student, I took
the STEM Strand since I wanna take MedTech as a course in the future. I
want to study at San Pedro College, located in Davao since I have heard
it was a great school for Med Tech.
There wasn’t anything special that has happened with my life lately. I
only have the same routine every day, online class, eat, do school work,
rest, eat, then sleep. Nothing special to be honest.
I used to be an honor student when I was in junior high but things
changed when the pandemic started. Obviously, an online class happened
and I can say that it was a bit stressful for me. I don’t have the
motivation to do the things I have been doing when we were still in a
face-to-face class. But I did really try my best to work these things out
so that I’ll get motivated again.

Schools all across the world have switched from
traditional to online settings as a result of covid-19.
My online learning experience is completely different
from what I am used to in the traditional classroom.
Without a doubt, online classes are a fantastic type of
training. Our lecturers began offering online classes
to assist students in continuing their education in the
face of the current crisis. Even when we weren't in a
real classroom, every teacher did everything they
could to teach us. Every student, including me,
struggles with using electronic devices effectively.
However, after some time, I became familiar with it
and was able to use it for my needs.
Every teachers have worked tirelessly to improve the interface and quality of online lessons. Teachers
devote a significant amount of time to their profession. The teacher interacts with the students in a
cool and entertaining way which attracts an increasing number of students who now love the online
class setting. It was difficult because the strand I chose was designed for face-to-face interactions. In
other words, it was not intended to be done online. It took a long time to adjust these kind of
learning and redefine the outcomes. I had a difficult time adjusting to the environment of online
education throughout the first several months. Some students do not have internet access, it has been
extremely difficult to communicate with them and in order to identify which pupils, for example,
would require assistance in accessing the internet.
10 yrs from now...
After graduating from high school, I hope to enroll in college and pursue a BS in
Medical Technology. San Pedro College is my dream school; I hope I can get in
because it is regarded as one of the greatest MedTech schools in the Philippines.
In ten years, I envision myself in a laboratory, drawing blood from patients and
testing them. I wanted to have a house, a car and be able to help my parents
before getting into a romantic relationship.
qquueessttiioonn&&aannsswweerr
What really makes you an SLSPIan?
To be a SLSPIan means to be part of a strong spiritual
community. We follow the morals of St Lorenzo Ruiz and are
also responsible individuals. What also makes a SLSPIan is being
productive, I have learned to be a productive student and make
the school works on time. I may be struggling in my studies right
now, but I know it is the only way for me to have a better
future.
How has the pandemic brought out the best in you?
Being at home for more than two months has made many of us aware of just
how much we miss getting out and interacting with other human beings. For
some, the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has also triggered a
more selfless need. It made me realize that life can be enjoyed more, due to
boredom I’ve tried things that I never tried before and ended up actually liking
those things. I’m more responsible at home. I started to clean the house
without being asked. I also started to play instruments like guitar and piano. I
found out that I can play well with it.
What significant changes have you observed from yourself?
Pandemic had a huge impact on my life. Because of the pandemic, I am more likely
to stay at home than get out of the house and it made me an introverted
person. I began to become more productive than normal. Do the things I haven't
done in the past. As I've gotten older, I've understood that having a lot of
friends doesn't mean anything. You can just have one or two friends, but at
least they are real friends who can aid you when you are at your lowest.
Especially during this time of the pandemic. You truly have someone to talk to
whenever you have a problem. That was one of my realizations. Finally, as an 18-
year-old, I thought maturely.
qquueessttiioonn&&aannsswweerr i
How prepared are you going to college (scale 1-10)
I can rate my preparedness to 6, I can say that I’m still not ready for
entering college. I’m not sure about myself entering classes and graduating
senior high from an online class. It has been a bit of a tough journey for me.
I‘m still not that ready. It felt like I’m still going to graduate from junior
high. I’m still a dependent person. Knowing that when the time comes I’ll be in
college, I'll be away from my parents because the school I’m planning to
study to is far from our home.
Which has really shaped you as a person: family, school, or church?
All of it has shaped the person that I am today. They have
made several contributions to my life. They influenced me
and taught things that I believe today. Especially my
parents who taught me many things and made me realize
important life lessons. Without them, I would not be the
person I am now.
