ast May 2014, Gina and I were in the Mediterranean Cruise together with
all the other Team Elite Executives for the Team Elite Incentive Trip. It was
an awesome reward for all of our hard work and perseverance qualifying for
that trip. I remember having so much fun creating amazing memories in places like
Venice Italy, Dubrovnik Croatia, Ephesus and Istanbul Turkey. It was so wonderful;
I honestly could not pen the right words to describe how our company made our
trip very memorable. And yet through all of these “wow” experiences, one ordinary
meal really stood out.

I remember Dan Chard, President of Global Sales and Operations, inviting Gina
and I to have breakfast with him and Melisa, our President for the South East
Asia Region. Frankly, I was a bit apprehensive what the meeting would be about
especially since these meetings, based on my previous corporate experience,
would always be about setting big goals and when accomplished, setting even
bigger ones. I don’t hate setting goals; I just dislike the work required to accomplish
them. Imagine my surprise when Melisa and Dan never talked about growing
volumes or down lines during the whole meal. They simply kept asking Gina
and I questions about how we were doing, how Christian was and how life was
in general. I quietly waited for Dan or Melisa to finally pop the question while at
the same time secretly rejoicing and hoping that maybe they actually forgot the
reason for why they were having breakfast with us.

However, just when they were ready to leave for their next meeting, Dan said,
“Pax, Gina, I wanted to share with you what Blake always asks every time he
welcomes a new Team Elite into the family. Unfortunately, he is not here
now to ask personally because he is on a mission for the church. I’m sure
he would have wanted to welcome you and Gina personally and ask the

question himself. Anyway, I’d like to ask in his behalf. In Nu Skin, we know for
sure that as long as you work hard and stay long enough, success will come
and you will eventually enjoy all the things you have always dreamed about. And
while we are happy that you do, that you enjoy the fruits of all your hard work
and perseverance, what concerns us the most is who you guys become when you
accomplish them. What kind of people and leaders will you be when you finally
succeed just as you are beginning to do so now? We invite you to think about that
as you continue on your journey with us as leaders of your team in the Philippines.”
A few minutes later, Melisa and Dan left for their next meetings.

Wow! I’m so glad to be part of this company. How many companies do we know
that value its people’s futures more than its revenues? It is clear proof that our
mission is not some plaque on the wall but a conviction lived out in reality through
the example of our leaders. That conversation sealed it for us. It was only a single
question, but a life changing one that left a huge impression on us for the duration
of that trip and even now as we continue to grow in our Nu Skin business.

It has been 14 years since Gina and I became executives and 7 years out of that we
spent with our son Christian as he was growing up. I could vividly remember how
out of sorts we were then as distributors figuring out how to make the business
work. Together with Gina and armed only with our dreams, our wits and our belief
in the company, our team and most of all in ourselves, we ventured forward hoping
just like any distributor that if we work hard and stay at it long enough, it would all
work out. We didn’t have proof then that we would succeed and worst of all, we

knew that even if we do work hard, there were no real guarantees. But we held on
to the one thing that was sure – that our dreams were worth all the risk, and our
team worth fighting for. Today, all the hard work has been worth it. As Team Elite
Executives and Million Dollar Circle members, we are living proof that dreams
do come true and I would never exchange a single day of my life right now for
any amount of money or prestige any corporate career would offer. Ours in an
amazing life that I often wonder why we didn’t do Nu Skin earlier.

What do we have? Having the ability to spend the best times of our life with the
people most dear to us and having enough money to enjoy that life is a daily
miracle worth celebrating! I genuinely wish and pray that all of our downlines do
enjoy the same life. But the biggest surprise is that we still have so much life ahead
of us! If we were not doing Nu Skin, Gina and I would still have been successful.
But we would have waited until our retirement between 60 to 65 years old to
start enjoying that life. To get time and financial freedom this early in our life is a
gift only Nu Skin can provide. We are looking forward to a future full of amazing
possibilities!

Blake’s challenge, “What kind of people do we want to be after we have
accomplished success?” has come at a serendipitous time in our life. In the past, we
have always known that every choice we make impact so many lives in amazing and
sometimes when we are not so careful, in not so amazing ways. So we understand

rior to joining Nu Skin, I was a junior college student from the Ateneo
de Manila University, taking up Business Management. My family
is of Chinese descent and engaged in real estate development and
construction.

I am blessed to be part of Nu Skin since 2003. Upon graduation I decided to blaze
the trail of entrepreneurship, and was confident to work with one of the industry
leaders of network marketing.

My first “Why” in doing the business is to become financially independent from
my parents.

My initial journey with Nu Skin has been marked by challenges, but as in all new
ventures, once you persevere through the learning phase everything becomes
easier.

When I saw the BOM and learned I just needed 4 people to become a Ruby
executive, without a doubt I knew I could succeed. I became a Ruby Executive in
a year and was able to make my first million. When I became a Blue Diamond, it
was more like a sigh of relief, since it took a lot out of me emotionally and physically.
I have never looked back ever since.

I think people around you in Nu Skin play an important role in inspiring you, and
that is what my uplines did to me. At the same time, I also wanted to prove to
them that I was legitimate, which is why I wanted to become successful as soon
as possible. My downlines and sidelines on the other hand, made me want to
win—to show them it was possible. It felt more like me carving out their destiny,
that success was possible.

In sponsoring people with similar values, I think the first step is attracting them and
after that showing them the values we have as a company and as an organization.

Leadership is the ability to lead your people to do something they have never
done or thought they could do, and lead them to be the best person they can be
as they drive other people forward as well.

The most important thing is duplication, because if you have an efficient
duplication model that showcases an efficient system, it’s easy for your downline
organization to follow.

Being associated with Nu Skin has gained me financial rewards, and aside from
that the prestige and credibility that follows with my position in the company.

ight after finishing a bachelors degree in Occupational Therapy, JP was
prompted by his family to move to the USA and pursue his OT Career.
However, the lifestyle of an employee did not appeal to him. He knew
that most people who live a privileged lifestyle are entrepreneurs. It
was then that his friend and mentor, Gen Woo, introduced the Nu Skin
opportunity to him. He, however, struggled with a crossroad in his life - “Either I
work as an OT in the States with a starting paycheck of P350,000 per month, or
stay in the Philippines and make about P25,000 per month doing face-lifts. It was
a tough decision but my mentors assured me that if I stick it out in the business,
I could have both the TIME and FINANCIAL freedom that I’ve always wanted.
It was just going to be a matter of time.”

As JP was growing up, he was linguistically challenged. In grade school, he was
the main attraction of teasing and embarrassment among his classmates and even
teachers. It was a very painful time for him because he literally couldn’t express
himself. It was just like “trying to make the lame walk”. It was that difficult. His
prayer everyday was that he would not be humiliated on that particular day. This
period in his life eventually became a major reason for him to doubt himself, his
family, and even God. He was frustrated with the thought that he most likely
would be limited to a career that would not require any speaking.

His greatest affirmation came from his parents--they believed that he had great
potential and that God had bigger plans for his life. They believed that there
was a purpose behind everything. Because of this hope, he would pray each day
that he would be able to speak normally. Then one day, God answered his prayer
through the Nu Skin opportunity.

It was through the business that he gained confidence in himself and the ability
to communicate effectively. Nobody would have ever thought that his disability
would turn out to be his greatest asset. Nu Skin has expanded his personal growth
so much to the point that he now leads one of the largest organizations in the
country and has expanded his business to over 18 countries.

After a few years of building his business, he eventually met his beautiful wife,
Cielo, an accomplished events planner who happened to be a distributor in his
organization. Together, they went full throttle in the business. She has become
his #1 supporter and cheerleader-- the best gift JP could ever ask for.

She believes that the Nu Skin business has allowed them to do what they are
purposed to do -“Nu Skin is a wonderful blessing to our family. It’s through this
business that we can achieve not only the tangible things but most importantly
the intangibles things in life. For JP and me, the priority is building wonderful
memories with our two lovely children, together with all our extended families
and living a purposeful life by being very much involved in ministry. That, for us,
is the most precious thing in life.”

Through this business, they were able to stage their memorable proposal
and dream wedding at the Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa. They are

continuously building wonderful memories with their kids and family while
they venture out to different parts of the world--from enjoying adventures
in amusement parks, experiencing new insights in real space shuttles in the
NASA Space Centre in Houston Texas, visiting the Mayan ruins in Mexico,
and being thrillingly blown away by helicopter rides around volcanoes in
Hawaii, just to name a few.

As a couple , they have nourished their marriage by traveling around Asia
and Exploring Europe -savoring Italian food and history in Rome, catching
up with friends in London, relishing gondola rides in Venice, adoring
shopping in Florence, and delighting the endless romantic dinners in Paris.

But more than that, what truly motivates them is the fact that they
are becoming a channel of God’s blessings. From the very start of
their marriage, they have always wanted to inspire young couples and
professionals to live purposeful lives. At present, they are now seeing the
fruit of that passion through the young adults ministry in their church.

bless multitudes through his support for missions in Southeast Asia and
feeding outreaches in Mindanao. “Giving back to my parents means so
much to me, as they have given their all to serve the Lord as missionaries.

people. That is the reason why I work hard, to inspire people everyday and to give
them hope that both success and happiness can be found in the Philippines,
and that is if they do Nu Skin.

People always ask me if this business is easy, to be honest, Nu Skin was one
of the hardest things that I ever did but it’s the most rewarding. It wasn’t hard
physically, but more mentally and emotionally. Mentally by keeping focus
in the business everyday knowing that the enemy of great is good, and the
enemy of excellence is complacency. Emotionally, since I still get rejection
from people and it still hard. People still quit left and right and it’s frustrating
to see people quit on their dreams. In times of hardships, I always bring myself
to why I do Nu Skin. I knew my goals were bigger than any obstacles. Every time
I am down, I bring myself back to my commitments, that I will do whatever it takes, I
will never give up, I will finish what I started. I said it in good times or bad times it doesn’t
really matter because commitment is staying loyal to what you said you were going to do,
even after the mood you said it has already left you. Even when circumstances change, I
still keep my word. And keeping my word for 4 years is why I became a Blue Diamond.

I feel so lucky to be part of this journey. God has really blessed me in numerous ways. I have
made 5 Million pesos in total commission over the past 4 years, and from our LTO launch
last November 2013 , I was able to make 1 Million pesos from November to December.

Upon graduation, I had exposure in our family business and in a multinational
company, but I was so unhappy that I didn’t stay long and really prayed for our

four, I have somehow developed the attitude of taking into my shoulders the
responsibility to take care of the welfare of my parents, and my siblings.
The hardships that I had to hurdle in life had made a resilient person. A person

school selling stuff that my hand will get hold to. My entrepreneurial spirit was
enkindled by that practice. Good enough I do not have to ask from my parents
my allowance to go to school.
I have not finished school because during that time, I am earning already from
my stint as Ballroom Dance Instructor which during that time was a very lucrative
job. And somehow, that dissuade me to altogether stop schooling because my

my family and siblings. This job brought me to Manila along with some Dance

Jen Elizalde managed her traditional business in Tacloban City prior to joining
Nu Skin. When Supertyphoon Yolanda happened in Tacloban City last 2013,
she lost millions of pesos in the baking school and supplies business that she has
invested for many years. Luckily, a month after Yolanda she just finished her Yoga
Teacher training and started teaching yoga as her alternative means of income.
