According to reports, India ranks first among the world's milk-producing nations since 1998, world's second largest producer of food grains, fruits, and vegetables, world's largest processor and third largest producer of cashew nuts. India food basket is diversified with products like milk, eggs, fruits and vegetables, meat and fish. Looking at the growth and increase in agricultural produce Union Food Processing Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal states that through an efficient Food Processing sector, India is on its path to become the food factory of the world where it could export food to countries not only in the vicinity, but those who need it.
