ELDERLY RESIDENTS LOSE
BEAUTIFUL VIEW OVER THE OPEN FIELDS
I could not help but comment on Mr Lemon's
comments, that the new houses which he had visited
would have a lovely view over the open fields, true,
but what he failed to mention was that the beautiful
view over the open fields, which was previously
enjoyed, by the residents of the old people's
bungalows is now totally blocked by the said new

TRIPS AND ACTIVITIES
On Thursday 5th June Year 6 visited Writtle College.
We learnt about farming, harvesting and what a
difference animals and plants make to our lives today. It
was great and we hope we can go back again!
(Sophia Miller & Leah Shipp)
Last week Year 1 ventured outside to extend their
learning in to the natural world! Using materials found
around the school grounds, they created their own
version of an Andy Goldsworthy sculpture. They used
fallen leaves, pine cones, stones and flowers. Having
studied the artist for a couple of weeks, they were able to
take inspiration from his work. They worked excellently
in collaboration with a friend and the results were
worthwhile. They gave them a fun title, photographed
them to remember their effort and left them to the
elements to disappear.

1180. FLOODING

Working group has not yet met but discussions between two
members were circulated and two courses of action are already
clear. The first is to clear the lateral ditch by the side of The Croft
which is about a metre deep in accumulated silt and is stopping
free flow to the main system. (The idea is that once that is free
flowing we can see better what is happening at the front and also
what affect it has on the upstream problem by Forbetts). The
second is to get a large scale OS map of Hatfield Heath that we
can use to properly track the system, first in the Stortford Road
and then the other roads, so that we can understand the system
in totality and where to put our efforts.

1181. REPORTS FROM MEMBERS ON MEETINGS

on Airport liaison and that the Dover route will disappear and
those flights will follow the Clacton route.
ECC Cllr John Hodge gave a presentation on Highways and air
pollution exceeds requirements of EU in areas of Saffron

The consultation does not involve changes to the Hatfield Heath Circled Directly under flight paths
airspace structure and no other departure or ar-
rival routes are affected. NATS believes that the
result would reduce the overall number of peo-
ple regularly overflown in the day as well as re-

that switching to the Clacton route would allow
aircraft to achieve a more continuous climb than
possible on the Dover route leading to more effi-
cient operation.
This proposal would remove daytime departures
for a large area to the south-east of the airport
but double the number of flights towards the east
coast. This intensification of flights to the east
would need to be carefully studied for impact on
the local communities since this largely rural
region enjoys low ambient noise levels. SSE lays

process and for NATS to ensure that local resi-

Taylors field GLYNN’S CHIMNEY SWEEP

I am writing to express concern about the actions of Clean & Efficient
the owners of Taylors field (behind the houses in Vacuum & Brush
Dunmow Road) this weekend.
The whole field has been decimated. This field is 01279 424 983
home to lots of wildlife, rabbits, badgers, partridges,
pheasants and in particular muntjac deer. The deer NACS Registered
had made their home in the hedgerow which has HETAS Qualified Sweep
been completely destroyed. I know that rabbits are
probably not everyone’s favourite animal but it was www.glynnschimneysweeps.com
very unpleasant to walk across the field and see a
number had met a very grisly end. 13070 Feb 2014
As well as the insensitivity of carrying out this work
at the weekend...( 12 hours on Saturday and 6 hours
on Sunday - starting at 6am!) we have again had to
contend with heavy machinery using the FOOT-
PATH from Dunmow Road for access. It appears
the precedent has been set by Tim Maskill using the
footpath for access to his field.
Is there something that can be done about this? This
is very distressing and makes me wonder what we
are doing to our village.
