Dear Wayne,

All of us have been through a lot of trials and tribulations but none of us have
experienced what you have endured. I think what keeps you going are prayers as well as the
words from this poem off of your favorite coffee mug. It reads:

DON'T QUIT

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you 're trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds·are low, and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit!

Life is queer with its twists & turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out,
Don't give up though the pace seems slow,
You may succeed with another blow.

Success is failure turned inside out
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far.
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit,
Its when things seem worse,
That you must not quit.

And you didn't!

OCPM CHRISTMAS

PARTY

Members of the American Association of Women Podiatrists
and members of the Student National Podiatric Medical As-
sociation, plus several students from the general student
body were very generous in their support of OCPM's Annual ·
Holiday Party for children and senior.citizens of the Cleveland
community.

Students (Santa's Helpers) were busy wrapping and labeling
gifts for the children and seniors weeks before the festive
occasion. During the party they participated in the entertain-
ment, helped to dispense refreshments and pass out door
prizes.

Santa's Helpers also conducted free foot screenings and
discussed why those attending should seek solutions to all
their foot problems at the Cleveland Foot Clinic. One student
was overheard stating "We perform miracles here at our foot
clinic."

Thanks to Santa Claus, friends, volunteer staff and students,
a good time was had by all, especially the children and senior
citizens who were given a day to remember during the holiday
season.

Yes, of course the students stayed around for the clean-up
detail!
