QUEST 2023

Message from the

Chairman’s Desk

“People pay for what they do and still more for what they have allowed
themselves to become. And they pay for it simply: by the lives they lead.”
James Baldwin

It is a well accepted fact that our actions, good or bad, will have consequences
for others: individuals, families, society, nation and the universe in a wider
sense. A bad and undesirable action by an individual can have serious

and devasting consequences for many others. Similarly, a noble and kind
action can have replicating effect on others resulting in overall good and

well being of the society. Hence it is well said: “Think before you act and
S.K SACHDEVA think twice before you speak”.

We, at Sachdeva Public School try to convey this very pious message to our students so that they
grow and develop as responsible and worthy citizens of the country.
The Magazine of a school is the mouthpiece of the entire school fraternity I, therefore congratulate

the Principal, teachers, staff and students of the school for bringing out another new edition of
their school magazine “The Quest”, with ‘Every Act Counts’, as its central theme.

I am sure that the present edition of the school magazine is bound to inculcate among the students
an ardent desire to watch both their actions and words and thus grow and develop themselves as
noble and responsible citizens of this great country.

MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL WITH HIS DIVINE BENEVOLENCE!

Message from the

Manager’s Desk

“If my life is fruitless, it doesn’t matter who praises me, and if my life is

fruitful, it doesn’t matter who criticizes me.”
John Bunyan
Each one of us has the freedom before we act. However, after we act, the

effect of the action follows whether we want it or not. This is the rule
of “Karma” which each one of us must understand. Thus, the fact, that

‘Every Act Counts’ has both sobering and humbling effect in making each
individual’s character. It is, therefore, pertinent here to note that every act
or decision changes a person for better or for worse depending upon the

R.K SACHDEVA nature of his action or decision. To summarize, our thinking the thoughts,
speaking the words and doing the deeds, have all shaped us into the type

of person we are today.

I am glad to say that we, at Sachdeva Public School, strive that our students grow and develop
keeping the above perspective in mind. The fact, that the present edition of the School Magazine:

‘The Quest’ being brought out with its central theme: ‘Every Act Counts’, further fortifies our basic
philosophy. I congratulate the Principal, teachers, staff and students of the school for this novel
and noble adventure.

I extend my blessings to all the students who are appearing for their Board Examination 2023 and
my best wishes to you all, ladies and gentlemen, for a very Happy and Prosperous New Year.

a word from

The Principal

“We must aim beyond good deeds to selfless deeds that are devoid of expectations
to achieve nobler goals in life and serve humanity.”

The pursuit of achieving happiness is a complex and tangled one. It is indeed so complex
that even life-long well-intentioned actions do not help us to taste the happiness which
is indeed our birth right as human beings. Year after year, race after race, humanity has
sought for something called bliss, and yet, with growing complexities, human race has

gone farther away from it. We are enchanted by materialism!
On delving deep into our own thoughts and actions, we realize that compassion, care,
readiness to help, gratitude and dexterous attitude can quench our thirst for soulful
joy. This brings me to the theme of this year’s “The Quest”: Every Act Counts! And every
act can be meaningful when it is free from egotism. A society can be made civilized
and truly progressive with the light of education: the light that illuminates character;
the character that is aware of the self and is pious-like a sacred droplet of dew on a MONA RASTOGI
blooming flower. Thus, character building is the essence of education.

Each act whether gentle or harsh spreads in front of us a wide net. To the lotus of righteousness, ego is the night:
to the lamp of clear insight, bad company is the wind. Thus, introspection of actions becomes imperative.

We, at Sachdeva Public School aim at nurturing noble qualities of mind and heart that continue to guide our
students even when they step out of school into the real world of responsibilities and experience. The motto of our
prestigious institution is ‘VIDYA DADAATI VINAYAM’-- the enlightenment obtained through the acquisition of
complete knowledge that imbibes in the disciple the qualities of discipline, etiquettes, humility and intelligence.

VISION WITHOUT ACTION IS MERELY A DREAM, ACTION WITHOUT VISION JUST PASSES THE TIME,
VISION WITH RIGHTEOUS ACT CAN CHANGE THE WORLD.

EDITORIAL

‘A bird sitting on a tree is never afraid of the branch breaking because her trust is on her wings

and her ability to fly’
The present day world is not as harmonious as we may have dreamt of. It is full of competition,

tension and violence. Humanity has to bear the brunt of the acts of negative elements. On the
other hand, there are countless people, who are brimming with compassion and generosity and find
contentment in serving the needy and the despondent, removing the shroud of misery from others’

lives. This clearly highlights that every act, whether tiny or gigantic in nature, has its impact on all
living beings. This brings us to this year’s theme of “The Quest”- ‘Every Act Counts’.

This year’s edition highlights that the need of the hour is to work together to create an ambience
where thoughts and actions can flow favourably. The power to change, for the better, is within us

because we are the ones who choose our thoughts.

We create our own Universe as we go along, as rightly said by Winston Churchill.
The students of SPS showcased the same ideology by participating enthusiastically in various
riveting activities organized during the session as well as in their high-powered scintillating words

and influential writings contributed to the present edition.

So have a positive attitude as by being an optimist, you can turn scars into stars and thus win laurels
in life. Patience, will power, determination, courage and confidence are the sterling qualities of the
mind which are indispensable in the struggle of life.

WISHING YOU A PLEASANT READING EXPERIENCE!
