EVERY ACT COUNTS LIFE ON LAND, LIFE IN WATER
'Every Act Counts'
No matter how less it is, Life on land : we live here
All that matters is to give, Garbage on Land is banned I hear
As every act counts, Because we have planned
Shower love and spread kindness, to make our earth a brand new land.
In endless amounts.
Share and care for others, Sometimes it looks like a wetland
Also respect your elders, sisters and brothers, And sometimes it looks like a day land
As every act counts. But it’s time to convert our earth
When you feel low, Into a beautiful fabulous dreamland.
You might feel that you're left with
Nothing but an ounce. Life in water : sea animals live here
But do not forget to give life a chance Their life is getting disturbed, I fear
As it may again bounce. Today let’s promise to change the waste water
So keep giving your best, Back into a clean home for animals – clean sea water.
As every act counts. Let’s keep our earth clean

Let’s make it happy and green.

Every drop of mine was so peaceful Clean environment is a collective duty,
I was free from all the fears Make your surrounding and a stunning beauty.
Now tap remains open and I shed my tears Don’t spread litter here and there, Keep a dustbin
I used to move freely in the river everywhere.
Now I’m suffering from toxic fever Dustbin has a lid on its head ,
You throw untreated sewage in me That doesn’t allow foul smell to spread.
I tolerate the chemicals and you say “let it be” Cleanliness protects us from disease, So that we

THE SUN AND THE SAND MAKE BEACHES BEAUTIFUL
Every cloud has a silver lining. Just like the sun and the sand make beaches beautiful, we humans can
achieve any milestone by working hard and being determined. We should bury all our worries in the sand
of the beach, let them be washed away by ocean water and experience the sun’s warmth and positivity.
Sometimes, things do not work out as we plan or wish. There are times when things do not work our way and then
comes an innate fear that things might get out of our hands. But it is necessary to withstand these impediments and
constantly focus on our goals. Thus, it has been rightly said that ‘Life is not a bed of roses.’ Therefore, the dark days
must be dealt with dexterity in order to bring the light of happiness and prosperity in our lives. Hard work shall always
pave the way to success. Henceforth, the only way forward is to analyse and reflect upon our shortcomings in order to
become successful in our lives. No matter how hard the tide hits us, the sand will always soften our landing. Similarly, no
matter how hard life hits us and tests us, we should always stand strong and be ready to face whatever comes our way.
Another way to make things work is to love whatever we do and be fully devoted to it. Some things work our way while
others do not, therefore we must relentlessly pursue our goals and strive hard to achieve them. We should never
be affected by the obstacles that destiny throws upon us as even the deepest footprints cannot survive the ocean
water. Therefore, we perpetually wear a lens that adjusts reality to appear more constructive and optimistic. So,

If you want your future to be bright,
Strive hard to make the present right
In order to experience the ecstasy of life,
For every act counts in strife.

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS
The seventeen Sustainable Development Goals were adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015 to end poverty, reduce
inequality and build more peaceful, prosperous societies by 2030. Their main objective is to empower nations globally.

Children are considered the future builders of a nation, so educating them about SDGs is extremely important. Only then one can think
of achieving these goals. Practising sustainability empowers children to construct knowledge, explore values and develop respect
towards nature, which lays the foundation for an environmentally responsible adulthood in future. With this, students act sustainably
in their daily lives to foster environmental consciousness and lifelong learning in their classroom by practising these major principles
as: Connect and develop respect towards Nature. Analyse the Climatic changes. Initiate a service project with peers. Learn about all
sectors of people who make a difference in society. Research on various businesses and its products, with their effects of Carbon
footprint and green gas emissions. Start an Environmental Awareness Challenge. Create a model of mindfulness to visit grandparents,
animal rescue centres, old age homes etc. Promote and create posters or presentations to inspire others. Encourage out-of-the-Box-
thinking and spread to local communities. Meet and collaborate with NGOs and govt schools for better outputs.

The SDGs key benefits of learnings and experiences reflect on students’ life to improve quality of life. Let the young lives protect,
preserve and conserve the natural environment for their future needs.

SARAH
IX B FORGIVENESS- AN ACT THAT IS UNFORGETTABLE
The very nature of humans is to get angry and feel resentment towards those who have hurt them or done some harm to them.
We remember the undesirable actions of others which impacted us and made us feel bad. Forgiveness is the act of overcom-
ing the feeling of envy or revenge for the person who has done wrong to us. Forgiveness is a principle but the way people see
it is quite relative. Some people think that certain actions are forgivable but some people think that forgiveness encourages
the wrong doer. If we are able to forgive others, we also learn to forgive ourselves in situations of self guilt. At times, we fail to
forgive ourselves and often end up realizing that others had forgiven us long back. Forgiveness helps us feel light and get rid
of hard feelings that occupy our heart and destroy our peace of mind. Forgiveness is that act of kindness which a blind can
see and a deaf can hear. People who can readily forgive others are much more responsible and satisfied instead of those who
keep grudges against others. The feeling of agony only results in arguments, fights, mistreatments and war. It is truly said that
the more easily we forgive the other person, the less likely we shall suffocate ourselves. “No matter how small it is forgiving
someone, it never goes unobtrusive”

“MISTAKES ARE THE GREATEST TEACHERS”

VIDHI BANSAL “If you are not making mistakes then, you are not doing anything.
X D It is positive that a doer makes mistakes”
- John Wooden
Every mortal being digs into the process of self-development and learning. It is an undeniable fact that the journey
is hurdled by obstructions in the form of mistakes. Mistakes are capable of lifting us and at the same time, breaking
us. Yet, one should see mistakes as opportunities for improvement. It is crucial to admit, learn and grow while
surpassing this unexpected challenge. It is ethical to say that we all make mistakes and have struggles and regrets.
But one should utilize his power of reshaping future in the present. Mistakes pave the path from downfall to success
by appealing to one’s inner conscious, the lesson of being a forever learner. The biggest mistake one can do is to be
afraid of mistakes.
Lord Buddha always emphasised on the fact that, “The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for
the past, nor to worry about the future, but to live the present wisely and earnestly. All these viewpoints convey the
liberating idea of personifying our mistakes with the greatest teachers and to always

AN IMPERCEPTIBLE ATTACK
As technology rapidly advances and paves the way for human development, the same pace is maintained toward its destruction.
With cybercrime rates reaching an all-time high, it has become crucial to stay safe in the digital world. I learned this lesson through
a small mistake that inevitably cost me a lot. Last year, I was browsing through my e-mails on my laptop. My antivirus had expired
recently. I noted to get it updated that weekend. Suddenly, my eyes caught an attractive offer entailing the impartation of a course
of choice for students of my age. I clicked on the attached link and the download for what I thought was a brochure started. Oddly,
when I clicked on the downloaded material, a black screen met my gaze. A few days later, when I was working on a word file, the
screen abruptly blanked out. Upon restarting the system, I found that the saved file was gone. The cursor kept hovering around in
circles, and the keyboard didn’t function. The speed had reduced considerably. Distressed, I switched off the rogue device altogether.
By the end of the week, all system operations were down with the network, audio, and video. After getting the laptop checked
by a technician, it turned out that the windows had been corrupted by the infamous Trojan horse virus that had entered the system
through an unknown file and spread its malicious network over the subsequent days resulting in its complete breakdown. I lost all
my data including bank documents, account passwords, and financial credentials which I had saved on the device to recollect
when needed. A considerable amount was stolen from my bank account due to the loss of such vital information. As a result, I had
to freeze all my bank accounts and online financial activities. Not to mention the loss of invaluable pictures because of no backup.
Even though the incident was deplorable, it enlightened me about the cyber threats lurking just around the corner in this dangerous
digital world and taught me to tread cautiously in the intricately crafted cyber web where keeping ourselves safe has become a priority.

HEALTH IS WEALTH – IMPORTANCE OF HEATH CARE REFORMS XI B

With a population of 1.3 billion, India becomes the world's most populous country. India has lagged behind its economic growth and
health care. Today, India ranks below most other European countries in life expectancy, maternal mortality and infant mortality. Inspite
of having world class hospitals as a health care Centre, many individuals have poor access to appropriate and affordable healthcare.
Above all health care reforms started in India around 2005 through programs and reforms aimed at strengthening rural and urban
health services and providing financial protection for healthcare to vulnerable families. Indian government has recognised eight
systems of healthcare viz., Allopathy, Ayurveda, Siddha, Swa-rigpa, Unani, Naturopathy, Homeopathy, and Yoga. Allopathy receives
97% of the national health budget and 3% of the rest.
Under the national rural health mission, established in 2005, Indian government offers adequate healthcare to the country's rural
and urban population with a concentration on the states and Union Territories. Later on, Indian government established National
Accreditation for hospitals and healthcare, thereby running a healthcare program with the support of private business organisations
and corporate sectors to provide high quality treatment to the people. On the other hand, by notifying the Clinical Establishment Act
2010, Indian government developed infrastructure for healthcare by establishing primary health centres, community health centres,
district and sub district hospitals in different states and Union Territories. In order to overhaul the healthcare systems in India, six
additional All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) are established by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government
of India under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY) by an act of parliament. The aim of this initiative is to reform
health care systems and to correct regional imbalances in quality tertiary level healthcare in the country and attaining self-sufficiency
in graduate and post graduate medical education. At the same time, 26 Medical colleges have also been supported under Pradhan
Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna and all state governments own medical colleges are being given financial assistance and support for
strengthening healthcare system at the rural and urban area. Though the Indian healthcare system comparing to the USA and other
European countries is lagging behind, but efforts are being drastically taken to provide and strengthen the health care facilities to the
people of India so that India can equalize its system as per the other developed countries of the world.

SERVICE TO MANKIND-
MAKING THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE
Helping others, the most sacred human value; a value that we must always keep close to our hearts. No matter how busy we are or what
problems we may have, we should always find time to help others;because somewhere in the world, there’s someone hoping that someday
they will be helped by someone. That someday, their prayers will be answered.
After 12 years, Syria bears the world’s largest refugee crisis. . Amidst the ongoing civil war, there are Syrian refugees being faced with
challenges such as poverty and unemployment, which have been exacerbated during the COVID-19 pandemic. The economic downturn has
also exposed them to multiple protection risks, such as child labor, gender-based violence, early marriage and other forms of exploitation.
Millions have lost their livelihoods and are increasingly unable to meet their basic needs – including accessing clean water, electricity, food,
medicine and paying rent.
Countries and organisations and even citizens like you and me, have come together to help these people. They all are doing the best they
can,on their part, to help support the refugees. One such organization, for example, is Khalsa Aid. The UK-based humanitarian relief charity
is helping Syrian refugees, working tirelessly to provide food, clothing, shelter and medical facilities. There have been instances wherein the
NGO volunteers have rushed to provide aid, be it in areas of civil conflict or in regions affected by natural disaster.
The UNHCR (The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) has provided protective equipments to hospitals and health clinics,
distributed medicines and supported the construction of quarantine areas and hygiene facilities.
Citizens from around the world are donating monthly to the UNHCR to provide refugees with ongoing relief and protection. Even if it is not
wholly sufficient, all the help is making a difference, helping them with the basic facilities they are deprived of as a result of the war.
And you too can do so. You, too,can volunteer.
Friends, doing anything for others, whether it is a small action or a big help, is a gesture that spreads happiness. You can provide help to
anyone, be it your friend, a stranger, colleagues, or neighbors. As a wise man once said, service to humankind is always considered as a
service to god. Do the best you can to help those in need. Act as if what you do makes a difference. Because, it does.
“Always have a willing hand to help someone, you might be the only one that does.”

THINK. ACT. SAVE
Conservation refers to taking care and protecting energy and resources to maintain balance in nature. For saving the energy and resources
we require to gain enough knowledge about it and should think in that direction. Energy conservation is the decision and practice of using
less energy, when we limit our energy usage, we lower our impact on the environment. The longer we go out without making significant
changes, the greater is the threat of global warming and climate change to our daily lives. Energy conservation is a part of the concept of
eco-sufficiency.
Many ways can be adopted to conserve energy like reducing wastage and losses. On global level, energy use can also be reduced by the
stabilization of population growth. Natural resources occur naturally on earth. It forms an indispensable part of our lives. But they are
at depletion because of the overuse. Resources can be classified into 2 types renewable and non-renewable. Renewable resources can
replenish naturally. These include air, water and sunlight. Non-renewable resources consist of coal, natural gas, oil etc. These resources
cannot be replenished by natural resources easily to keep up with consumption. The progress and development had led to exploitation of
these resources. This all demands a responsible behavior of conserving the resources to ensure sustainability.
‘Sustainability’ refers to meeting the needs of present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs. If we do
not use these resources judiciously then it can create an imbalance in the environment. Conservation of energy and natural resources is the
need of the future generations. It is our duty to conserve these for a safe and secure future.

CYBER ETHICS-THE MORAL CODE WE NEED TO FOLLOW
While setting out the clues to discover the path of illumination in the books Angels and Demons and Da Vinci Code, Dan Brown, the author described math
as the route to it as men of science from all over the world could understand it. Thus math was considered as a universal language. A similar situation if
considered today would reveal that internet is the world’s biggest culture. Out of the 7.6 billion on the planet 3.6 billion are internet users. Consider the fact
that everyone recognizes and understands the meaning of a smiling emoji just as much as one understands that one plus one is two.
Thus we can safely assume that Internet has a lot of traffic. From smallest questions to the biggest business deals anything and everything is handled here.
We interact with a large community of people. Thus just like while driving a car multiple precautions have to be kept in mind similarly internet also requires
us to be responsible and follow cyber ethics. cyber ethics refers to the basic ethics and etiquette that must be followed while using a computer system.
Cyber ethics aim to protect the moral, financial, social behavior of individuals. Cyber ethics engages the users to use the internet safely and use technology
responsibly and sensibly. The instances of improper code of conduct comes from the assurance of lack of identification. Thus derogatory comments and
remarks by anonymous people on a public platform are a testimony to the fact.Improper code of conduct also gives rises to issues of copywriting and piracy.
it usually refers to illegal copy and distribution of resources such as movies, music etc. This breach of cyber ethics has been on a rise in recent times in
which we see movies being leaked online within hours of their release.A serious and disturbing infringement of cyber ethics is cyber bullying which can
take place on social media, messaging platforms, gaming platforms and mobile phones. It includes spreading lies or misconceptions, sending hurtful or
threatening messages targeted towards a particular person. This can lead to victim going through depression or anxiety. A disturbing fact regarding this
is that a large number of children a target for trolls.Internet hacking as well has become a major cause of concern nowadays. It involves an activity that
involves trying to gain access to computer systems in order to steal, modify or damage the data that the systems contain. In January 2021 reports of Covid
19 test were put up on internet in major security breach which was followed by a similar breach in the next month in which information of about 50,000
police personnel appearing for an exam was leaked and put up on sale. From the above instances, it is very clear that internet is not a completely safe place.
Thus one might consider to discontinue using it but that would be too drastic as life without internet is unimaginable in today’s date and time. Therefore, the
most practical step would be to adopt necessary measure to prevent being trapped in the net of cybercrime. Using strong passwords i.e. involving symbols
and numbers is a must. One should keep the software updated and should install an anti-virus software like quick heal or Norton in all electronic devices.
Perhaps, the most important step that needs to be taken is acknowledgement and discussion especially with the younger population. Children should be
made aware with the dangers and precautions to be taken while using the web.
These small steps if taken now can go a long way in preserving the cyber ethics and make internet a safer place.

ENERGY SAVED IS ENERGY GENERATED
Energy conservation refers to the efforts made to reduce the consumption of energy. The energy on Earth is not in unlimited supply. Further-
more, energy can take plenty of time to regenerate. This certainly makes it essential to conserve energy. Most noteworthy, energy conservation
is achievable either by using energy more efficiently or by reducing the amount of service usage. Energy conservation plays an important role
in saving non-renewable energy resources. Furthermore, non-renewable energy sources take many centuries to regenerate. Moreover, humans
consume energy at a faster rate than it can be produced. Therefore, energy conservation would lead to the preservation of these precious
non-renewable sources of energy. Consequently, energy conservation would strengthen the economy as consumers will have more disposable
income to spend on goods and services. Another important reason for energy conservation is environmental protection. This is because vari-
ous energy sources are significantly harmful to the environment. Furthermore, the burning of fossil fuels considerably pollutes the atmosphere.
Energy taxation is a good measure from the government to conserve energy. Furthermore, several countries apply energy or a carbon tax on
energy users. This tax would certainly put pressure on energy users to reduce their energy consumption. Moreover, carbon tax forces energy
users to shift to other energy sources that are less harmful. Another important way of energy conservation is by using energy-efficient prod-
ucts. Energy-efficient products are those that use lesser energy than their normal counterparts. In conclusion, energy conservation must be
among the utmost priorities of humanity. Mahatma Gandhi was absolutely right when he said, “the earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s
needs but not every man’s greed”. This statement pretty much sums up the importance of energy conservation.
