Agenda 9 c : To pass the minutes of the 312th State Council Meeting
Agenda 9 d : Resolutions passed in 312th SCM andAction taken :
1. It was resolved to pass the minutes of the 311th State Council Meeting held on 12th Dec 2021
at PSG Coimbatore by the members unanimously, as proposed by Dr. T. Sadagopan and
seconded by Dr. B. Venkatessan. ..... Noted.
2. It was resolved to pass the request of “IMA Chennai Metro Branch” to change their branch
name to “IMA Chennai Metro Venkateswara branch” is accepted by the members of the
State Council unanimously. ..... Being auctioned.
3. It is resolved to approve and pass the statements of accounts of IMA TNSB for the months
of October 2021 to December 2021 unanimously by the members, as proposed by Dr. K.
Thangamuthu and seconded by Dr. C. Thangamuthu. ..... Noted.
4. Most of the members are in favour of purchasing a property at Chennai only, hence decided
to have a property at Chennai. Members are also in a view to buy vacant land in Chennai
where we can have our own building in future. ..... Noted.
5. The room No. 107 and 108 in the JVL Plaza will be for the State President and State
Secretary only. ..... Implemented.

6. One year Diploma courses conducted by IMATNSB Paramedical Wings is to be converted
to 2 Years. Lateral entry to the students completed two years DHA to second year AHA is
approved. Introduction of two new certificate courses, ie. 1. CSSD and Infection control
technology. 2. Basic computer with ward and MRD records maintenance is also approved

Finance Standing Committee Meeting IMA TNSB held on 01.05.2022 at JVL Plaza,
Chennai Dr. R. Palaniswamy State President presided over the meeting and Dr. T. Senthamil Pari,
FSC Chairman / State President Elect 2022 convened the meeting.

Meeting was presided over by State President Dr. R. Palaniswamy, who greeted all the
members. He appreciated all the secretaries of scheme and wings for sending accounts details 10
days prior to the FSC meeting.
The Immediate Past State President Dr. P. Ramakrishnan, while welcoming the gathering,
pointed out that the cheque numbers and Voucher numbers are not mentioned in the respective
accounts.
The following decisions were taken in FSC Meeting held on 1stMay 22 at JVLPlaza, Chennai.
1. Petty cash transaction is limited to Rs. 10,000/- and the transactions over and above
Rs. 10,000/- should be through cheques or online.

2. 15% increase in HFC is brought into effect on and from 1st April by National IMA. The
extra amount will be borne by State office for the members joined during the month of
April.
3. FSC requested the office bearers to mobilize sponsorships for the meetings in order to
reduce the expenditure.
4. FSC appreciated the State office for circulating TIMA News letters to all members. The
proportionate charges should be collected from the respective schemes and wings for
publishing their information sheets in TIMANewsletter. The state office bearers are further
requested to generate advertisement income to alleviate the deficit amount of
Rs. 1,30,000/- and thereby enable TIMAeconomically self-sufficient.
5. AMS is requested to increase the membership strength by communicating branch office
bearers. FSC appreciated the AMS office bearers for starting new courses through which
they can improve the financial status ofAMS like CGP.
6. FSS - I Fixed Deposits are increased to touch the Rs.15 crores mark, which is a righteous
indicator for the stability of the scheme.
7. FSS - I & FSS - II membership strength ought to be increased
8. PPLSSS - Membership strength to be increased in PPLSSS, HPS and FSS.
Guest house occupancy rate must be improved with the aim of managing the same
financially in self-reliant manner.
9. Nursing Home board is doing well with good financial position and submitted the
accounts, bank statement and vouchers in appreciable manner.
10. Disbursal of loans Rs. 80,000/-, Rs. 50,000/- and Rs. 30,000/- permitted for Mr. Ranjith,
Mrs. Renuka and Mr. Karthikeyan respectively for their children's education purpose
which will be collected by monthly instalment.

· Autisum Awareness Week on 1st April with Thanjavur IMA & IAP at Our Lady of Health
Nursing College Inauguration and gave a talk aboutAutisum.
· IMAProtest Day 3rdApril at Thanjavur Medical College.

· World Health Day 6th April with IMA & District Collector Tree Plantation at Thanjavur
Medical College.
· 12th April Ariyalur IMA Meeting along with State President Dr. R. Palanisamy as Guest of
Honour in the afternoon
· April 12th night at IMAKattumannarkoil along with our State President Dr. R. Palanisamy.
· April 13th IMAMayiladuthurai Branch building foundation Stone Laying Function.
· 18th May at JVL PLAZA PPLSSS Library Inauguration function with PPLSSS
Management Committee.
· On 22nd May East Zone Nursing Home Board Meeting organized.
(b) State Vice President (South Zone) Report by Dr. V.Amuthan
20th March 2022 -Attended the 312th State Council Meeting of IMATNSB at Kallakuruchi
1st May 2022 - Participated in the FSC meeting at Chennai
8th May 2022 - Participated in PPLSSS of IMATNSB Management Committee meeting at Chennai
22nd Feb 2022 - Participated in the IMA TNSB NHB Management Committee meeting and CME at
Thanjavur.
29th May 2022 - Participated in IMATNSB FSS Management Committee Meeting at Kanyakumari
Activities of IMA Madurai : IMA Madurai branch, the largest branch in IMA TNSB conducts
regular meetings and CMEs. In April a total of 3 CMEs had been conducted. On 12th April there
was a CME on Low back pain and management of Pituitary Adenomas. On 22nd April there was a
CME on PCOS Endocrine Perspective and on 30th April, there was a CME on Skull Base Surgery.
On May 14th there was a Luncheon meeting on Endoscopic repair of CSF Rhinorrhea and
Minimally invasive vascular surgery. There was an urgent General Body meeting. Further for the
month of June 2022, a Women Walkathon has been planned at 6.30 AM by Women Doctors Wing of
IMA Madurai branch. Special invitees are Honorable Mayor of Madurai Corporation, President
and Secretary of IMA TNSB, Chairman and Secretary of Women Doctors wing of IMA TNSB and
Secretary of Sports Wing of IMA TNSB. This has been organized by Women doctors wing
Chairman Dr. Meenambal, Dr. Senthiru Ramachandran and Dr. S.S. Gayathri , Co Chairs and Dr.
P.G. Anandhi Secretary WDW. A NMC regulation review committee has been formed under the
Presidenship of Dr. BKC Mohan Prasad, Secretary Dr. V.N. Alagavenkatesan with Committee
members Dr. Subramaniaya Adhithyan, Dr. N. Sooriyakumar, Dr. J Suryakumar and Dr.
Thirumalaikannnan.
Activities of IMA Sivakasi Branch : IMA Sivakasi branch had conducted two CMEs in April and
two CMEs in May 2022. The 3 rd April CMEs was on Conquering diminished Ovarian Reserve
and 17th April CME was on – 'Like Kidney Stone, this also will pass: Medical management of
Urolithiasis'. The May CMEs were as follows: 8 th May – Early identification and Prevention of GI
malignancies and on 22nd May 2022 - Interventional Pulmonology

Greetings from North zone! As the pandemic slowly receding from the Mother Earth, people
started moving as usual! So as the meetings of IMAin all aspects!
· On 01.03.2022 - we lost our most dearest elder brother Dr. N. Muthurajan so Dr. N.R.T.R.
our State Secretary and myself went to Kauvery Hospital to pay homage to Dr. N.
Muthurajan
· 07.03.2022 - went along with our President to see properties for IMA.
· 12.03.2022 - participated in Women's Day Celebrations in association with OGGSI. Three
women awarded by the branch for their relentless service to the humankind!
· 13.03.2022 - attended World Sleep Day Walkathon organised by IMA Chennai
Villivakkam Ayanavaram Branch at Anna Nagar Tower Park, well organised & presided by
Padma Sri Dr. V.S. Natarajan, Geriatrician.

· Went and saw the properties of proposal on 16.03.2022 for presentation in SCM.
· Attended ConstitutionAmendment Committee Meeting at Kallakurichi.
· Attended SCM at IMAKallakurichi 20.03.2022.
· 29.03.2022 - attended Inauguration of Chennai Mint Branch along with State President,
State Secretary and State President Elect.

Happy to address you all on behalf of the IMATNSB Sports committee. We all are now aware of the
importance of sports and fitness in our day to day life. Sports is no more an entertainment but it is a
necessity. The days when we played sports only in our free time are gone. It's now an era of Fitness
and best Quality of life. We need to allocate appropriate time for our fitness and sports activities too.
IMA TNSB Sports Committee is there to address this issue of our esteemed members. Our sports
committee has formulated the following initial targets towards this goal.
Ÿ Sports committee to address the fitness and sports issues of members throughout the year
and not just conduct annual TNSB sports events alone.
Ÿ To create a sports directory of all IMATNSB members who are interested in various sports.
Ÿ TNSB sports & Fitness WhatsApp group and Facebook page to be popularised among IMA
members.

1. Tamil Nadu Doctors Cricket League - 28 teams participated. Held in March 2022 at
Chennai
2. Tamil Nadu State Level Masters Athletic meet - 4 doctors got selected for the State meet. 2
doctors got selected for the National level meet. Held in Madurai, inApril, 2022
3. State level Doctor's Tennis doubles tournament - 50 doctors participated. Held in May,
2022, conducted by IMA,Annur.
4. T20 cricket Tournament - 8 teams participated. Held in May 2022, conducted by IMA
Tirupur.
This year we have coined the following theme for our members fitness : "Stay fit, Stay Safe……
Inspire others"
Let's implement the idea of fitness among all members of IMA and inspire our relatives, friends and

We conducted State Level programme for Kids. Topic : WHEN I GROW UP. It is a fancy
dress competition with concept for the kids what they are aspiring to become.

Environmental activities by Various IMAbranches and plans for rest of year 2022.

First let us all congratulate and thank our State President Dr. R. Palaniswamy Sir for
initiating this Environmental Committee- his Brainchild- the first of its kind in our IMA history and
motivating all of us in the Environment activities- by project GREEN THE NATION.
The project that is in the near future - JUNE 5th 2022 for the WORLD ENVIRONMENT
DAY. Massive tree plantation has been advised to all the branches on that day and send reports to the
State Office and also Environmental Committee.
1. Project- GREEN THE NATION has been carried out by nearly half of the branches in our
State and Tree plantation and Tree saplings distribution are being carried out as a routine in
all the meetings and CME.
2. Conducting competitions like drawing to create more awareness among school kids and
water saving promotion pamphlets and banners are being done by IMA Namakkal under
the leadership of Dr. Kavitha and her team members. She is also educating the college girls
and the lady community as a whole by promoting GREEN MENSTRUATION.
3. The “மஞ்சள் ைப” (manjal paii) programme initiated by our Honourable Chief
Minister has to be taken up, bags need to be printed with IMA-TNSB logo and distributed
to the public in all the hospitals and medical shops. Say no to plastic bags.
4. Involving Corporate Hospitals, Textile business personnel and other Philanthropists as
sponsors to the projects planned by this committee for various projects.

The IMA Ramanathapuram Bio Medical Waste Management Plant Work is in process. IMA
Ramanathapuram has submitted the application for the approval of the facility to the Member
Secretary, State Level impact assessment authority. Panagal Maligai, Saidapet, Chennai.
Processing fee of Rs. 1,00,000/- has been paid. Project proposals is listed for hearing. We are

expecting this project will be taken up for hearing in the coming month. In the mean time all the
supporting documents are getting collected from various government agencies. Expect further
progress after the hearing.

identify sick children in paediatric practice. Speaker Dr M.R.LENIN - Paediatric Intensivist and it
was presided by IMA TNSB Vice President South Zone Dr. V. Amuthan. About 60 members
attended the meeting.
ACTIVITY 2 : Tirupur IMA AMS conducted a live meeting on 07.04.2022 for the CME with
speakers Dr. J.K. Ajithra gave lecture on Consultation liaison psychiatry and Dr. Revathi gave talk
on Eczema and Fungal infection. In this meeting, the chairperson was Dr. A. Murugananthan and
attended by 75 people with TNMC credit hours.
ACTIVITY 3 : Coimbatore IMAAMS performed a live meeting on 12.04.2022 with speakers Dr.
Parameswaran, Diabetologist, Mrs. C. Hemalatha, Dietician, and Dr. N. Tamilselvan.They gave
talk on Drugs,diet, and foot care for diabetics.The meeting was attended by 50 IMAmembers.
ACTIVITY 4 : IMAAMS TNSB branch organized a Virtual Webinar to inaugurate the Workshops
on Pediatrics and Gastroenterology on 22.04.2022. It was presided over by IMA TNSB State
President Dr. R. Palanisamy and there were a host of National and state leaders who felicitated. Dr.
Neminathan and Dr. K. Senthil Kumar are the workshop coordinators, for PAED-S and ENDIIMA -
1 & 2, respectively and participated with 50 delegates.
ACTIVITY 5 : On 28.04.2022 - A Virtual Webinar program for World Malaria Day and World
Meningitis Day was conducted by IMAAMS TNSB, program inaugurated by State President Dr. R.
Palanisamy. In this webinar, Dr. T.C.R. Ramakrishnan spoke about Cerebral Malaria, Dr. K.
Vijayan spoke about Recent Advances in the Management of Tuberculous Meningitis and Dr. V.M.
Balasubramani spoke about Post-Traumatic Meningitis. Dr. V. Rajesh Babu was the chairperson.

ACTIVITY 6 : IMA AMS, Tirupur chapter, conducted a live program on World Asthma Day on
29.04.2022 with speakers Dr. Baranidharan and Dr. Prabhuram. They gave a speech about Cardio-
Pulmonary Cross Talk on solving the puzzle of breathlessness in day-to-day practice. Dr. S.
Thangavelu and Dr. Selvaraj participated as chairpersons. IMAmembers 60 attended the meeting.

Geetha spoke about Approach to anaemia, Dr. Saranya Narayanan spoke about Antbiotics a life line

Recent trends in Management of Thallesaeia, Dr. R. Karthikeyan spoke about Managing
Exacerbations of asthma – What is New? and Dr. M. Jawahar Farook spoke about Recent trends in
Management of Hypertension. Dr. V. Rajesh Babu was the chairperson. 60 IMA members attended

The following were the activities of the NHB during this quarter.
Leadership Training Program : We sensitized our present IMA office bearers of various
branches about NHB in Leadership training program on 06.03.2022. Active participation and
discussion happened in the training.
State Council Meeting : We presented our achievements and financial status in the 312thState
Council Meeting happened on 20.03.2022 in Kallakurichi. Many of our members and leaders asked
us to speed up the minimum wages and insurance issues and find some solution soon. Following
that few notable things were happened.
Finance Standing Committee : We submitted our reports in the FSC which was well appreciated
by the FSC chairman on 1st May 2022 @ JVL Plaza, Chennai.
Fire Safety : The long awaited new rules for Fire Safety in hospitals issued recently on 25.04.2022
by the Principal Secretary of Health and Family Welfare department of Tamil Nādu (letter
(Ms.)No.138).It is with reasonable modifications for existing hospitals. There are separate

guidelines the high rise buildings. The concept is for easy evacuation. They advise to keep our ICU
and Operation Theatres in the ground or first floor for easy evacuation of patients during
emergencies. Ramp guidelines are modified. Try to follow as far as possible in old buildings. For
those who want to start new hospitals- take care of these guidelines.
Minimum Wages : Our IMA State President Dr. R. Palaniswamy, Hon. State Secretary Dr.
N.R.T.R. Thiyagarajan, NHB Chairman Dr. S. Karthick Prabhu and NHB Treasurer Dr. R. Rengaraj
as a team met the Labour Secretary on 29.03.2022 and got a positive response towards Review
committee for minimum wages. Once the review committing informed then the process will be
done fast. We are also lobbying for minimum wages review committee.
A representation had been handed over to the Labour Minister Shri C.V. Ganesan regarding this
with the help of our PPLSS Vice Chairman Dr. S. Nehru and Dr. Magudamudi, President, IMA
Kallakurichi. Soon we are expecting some good news from the Government.
Star Health Insurance : On 29.03.2022 our IMA State President Dr. R. Palaniswamy, NHB
Chairman Dr. S. Karthick Prabhu and NHB Treasurer Dr. Rengaraj as a team had a meeting with the
CEO of Star Health Insurance and discussed regarding OPD Insurance.

Management Committee Meeting : We had our 72nd Management Committee Meeting on 22nd
May 2022 from 4:00pm to 5:00pm at Reena Mitra Hall, Thanjavur after the Zonal Meet. Discussed
various topics regarding Minimum wages, Fire Safety, Insurance, BMWM, NHB Express etc., and
necessary decisions and guidelines were taken.

Agenda 19 (d) - IMA Paramedical Wing by Chairman Dr. P. Mannar Mannan and Secretary
Dr. S. Gowri Shankar.
Paramedical course 2021 - 22 is coming to the end and the final examination will be held for
around 1000 students in 26 common examination centres by the Secretaries of that particular area.
Students belongs to 60 Paramedical institutions are attending exam from 10th to 16th June 2022. All
the arrangements are being done to conduct the exam smoothly. IMA TNSB Paramedical Wing
thank the President and the Secretaries of the branches who are helping us to conduct the exam all
over Tamilnadu. Students of 6 Diploma and 1 Advanced Health Assistant course students will be
writing the exam. We request the Principals and the Faculties to train the students to write the exam
well. The correction of the answer sheets will be done by the expert faculties of various
Paramedical Institutions. We try and issue the certificates at the earliest, so as to enable the passed
out students to get employment soon. The Passed-out students will be employed by the institute.
There is a lot of requirements for the paramedical staff in the hospitals and the society. It is a best
opportunity for the children who are unable to go for different courses where the expenditure is too
high. People can undergo this course in a very reasonable fee and get a job where they can build
their carrier.
The coming academic year onwards, the Premedical Wing is conducting the Diploma
courses for two years and introduced two certificate courses of one year, i.e Basic computer with
ward and MRD records maintenance and another course is CSSD and Infection control technology.
Hospitals can train the students in the courses and get benefitted. Curriculum for the two-year
courses and the newly introduced courses are being prepared and supplied when the colleges reopen
in August.
IMATNSB Paramedical Wing has organised one day Seminar/training programmes for the
west zone paramedical students on 05.06.2022 at IMA Hall Pollachi. We thank IMA Pollachi
branch for sponsoring the programme and the arrangements. Students will be taught various
practical aspects including CPR, BLS etc. Around 200 students are expected to participate in it.
The competitions conducted by the Chairman Paramedical Wing to encourage the students, will be
awarded during this programme.
The Paramedical Institutions which are due for renewals are to be done before commencing
colleges reopens in August. Those Hospitals wants to conduct the Paramedical courses conducted
by IMA TNSB Paramedical Wing can approach us and the State Office and we are ready to help to
establish new Paramedical training centres at your Hospital.

· INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY CELEBRATION - International Women's day
was celebrated at the State Level in Tirupur on March 13th, organised by WDW, TNSB
hosted by IMA Tirupur. Under the guidance of the State President, Dr. R. Palanisamy, as a
first of its kind, 6 Women achievers from various fields were awarded for their excellence at
the state level. All the WDW with their active members were acknowledged with
Appreciation certificates and shields. Project of the year of WDW, Screening for
Childhood Cancer was launched. MPH subcommittee was also formed

Ethics and it's values.Addressed the IMANagercoil regular Monthly Meeting about the same.

Following activities were conducted from March to May 2022.
March 27th we conducted World Sleep Day awareness CME. Dr. Velraj MD (Pulmonology)

spoke about Obstructive Sleep Apnea-Diagnosis and management. And Dr. Vijay Krishnan spoke
about Surgery in Sleep Disordered Breathing.
April 24th we conducted CME Dr. Senthilkumar spoke about How to protect your heart?
and Dr.A. Madhupriya spoke about Toll on women's health-How to tackle?
May 29th conducted World Asthma Day awareness talk by Dr. K. Srikanth about Approach
to Asthma for the general practitioners. Other topic approach to bleeding by Hematologist Dr. R.M.
Subbiah.
Infuture we are planning to conduct physical zonal meeting (CME and workshop) for one
and half days along with CGP andAMS wing.

· I have drafted a letter and send to all branch secretaries informing what are all the projects
and activities can be done by a IMAbranch and how to intimate the State office
· I have attached the letter send to them.
· Due to Covid protocols and vacation many branches could not do many projects.
· Any how few branches did few projects and activities in their respective places.
· From June definitely many new projects and activities will be taken up by branches.

Hope all branches might have come to routine activities in your IMA. Apart from scientific
CMEs I request all branches to take up any one of the projects which will benefit public like NEET
coaching to plus 2 students, Diabetic Hypertension Thyroid disorders, Cancer Detection Camp in a
big village.
Road Traffic Awareness Camps, CPR Training to particular group like Rotarians lions by
joining with them.
Kindly report your activities to state office and also.
By may end a examination will over. Plz plan projects from June periodically upto December.

We created awareness programme in Kodambakkam IMABranch regarding first aid program.
We decided to follow following program in future.
1. Conduct first aid and trauma prevention programme in state level on zoom platform.
2. Creating awareness among school children in all government and private schools.
3. Educate college students about CPR program.
4. Educate the public about common first aid treatment for common injuries , fire injury and
road traffic accidents.

Mallika.
I am glad to inform out of IMATNSB 167 Branches about 36 Branches have started “AAO
GAON CHALEN” Project. MY sincere thanks to Namakkal, Coimbatore, Tirupur, Salem, Erode,
Hosur, Sathiyamangalam, Pollachi, Gobichetipalayam, Rasipuram, Harur – Uthanggarai, Attur,
Kallakurichi, Cuddalore, Villupuram, Tambaram, Ambattur - Avadi, Chennai South, Poonamallee
High Road, Kodambakam, Perambur, Krishnagiri, Dindugul, Oddanchatram, Madurai, Theni,
Tirunelveli, Courtalam, Marthandam, Trichy, SRM Irungalur (Trichy), Musiri Kulithalai,
Thanjavur, Nagapattinam, have conducted “AAO GAON CHALEN” Project and send the reports
Regularly.
We are doing Medically Based Camps, Awareness Camps, and CME on behalf of our IMA
TNSB. I Request you to Kindly Come out the Circle and do Community and Social Services, other
than our Medical side to the Poor and Needy People. So Humbly Request all Other IMA Branches
our TNSB to Carry out Our “AAO GAON CHALEN” Project Every Month and send the Reports
with Photos to Our “AAO GAON CHALEN” WAGROUP of our IMATNSB.

branches and send their reports. Programs for World Organ Donation Day are being planned.

From the Desk of Chairman Research Committee TNSB.
Greetings from the TNSB Research committee. I am delighted to share that this team is vibrant and
active in many roles. Recently We have conducted the First “RESEARCH PROTOCOLS,
ETHICS AND JOURNAL PUBLICATION WORKSHOP” at Velammal Medical College
Hospital Madurai on 22nd May 2022. This was inaugurated by the Dean, VMC and Dr J A Jayalal,
Our National IMA Past President with Dr Palanisamy Sir and Dr. N.R.T.R. Thiagarajan sir sending
their warm wishes. Dr. V.N. Alaga Venkatesan, Dr. S.G. Balamurugan and Dr. Kanagavel also
felicitated the students and wished the programme a success.
This was TNMC CME Credited event and MSN, JDN, PGs and IMA Members from south of
Tamilnadu attended and 57 delegates participated in this workshop. We received lots of Positive
feedback and PGs wanted to extend to 2 days if conducted next time.
We also planned to conduct similar workshops in other parts of Tamilnadu and collaborate with
National Academic committee for GCP, ICMR and Phase 4 trials training modules for our
members.
Integrating with MSN, JDN members will enhance the networking during these events and will go a
long way to establish research agendas and projects across Tamilnadu.
Our members are Dr. N. Subramanian (Chairman), Dr. S.G. Balamurugan, Dr. Kanagavel,
Dr. Govindaraj, Dr. Basheer, Dr. Buhari and Dr. Tiruvalavan.
