Officers, Advisors Meet Daily Insuring Senior
Year Success
The Class of 'll is finally
graduating!! After four long
years, facing problems like
the strike we encountered as
freshmen and severe budget
cuts we've endured as seniors,
we are finally ready to enter
the real world as adults.
This year has seen many
accomplishments as a class.
Such activities as the senior
trip and the prom were suc
cessful only because we were
able to work together in a very
special way.
We could not have accom
plished these things without
the guidance we received
from not only the class ad
visors, but also the faculty
and administration.
I’m sure that as a class, we
have left a distinct mark on
Delhaas High School. For
years to come, Delhaas will
remember the Class of 'll.
Kathy Booth, president

Presenting The Floats
This year’s homecoming
proved to be very success
ful due to the various class
es and activities that partici
pated in this event. They made
fioats that were judged on
creativity and appropriateness
of the theme.
The groups that were in
volved were the Classes of '77,
’78, ’79, and ’80, Intergroup
Council, and the Band Boost
ers. The winning floats were
Class of ’78 winning first
place. Intergroup Council
winning second place, and The
Band Boosters winning third
piace. The Class of ’78 was
in charge of Homecoming this
year. This requires knowing
what each group is doing on
their floats and how much
money is spent. The Inter
group Council was in charge
of ordering flowers for the
nominees and the queen. The
Class of ’77 contributed the
float for the nominees. All
of the students worked very
hard to make this year’s
Homecoming something spe
cial to remember.
Second prize float, Intergroup Council— "The Great Pumpkin is our host, so come to the Owl-a-
weenie roast”
'Snoopy lives here”
Third prize float. The Band Boosters— "Tigers haunt the owls on
arid off field”

. . And Their Participants
"I was very glad to be a part of
Homecoming this year. As a senior,
I felt it was very important to help
out with the construction of the
floats and to work together.
"I worked on the Intergroup
Council float which required a
lot of time and hard work. We
thought of a saying to go with the
theme of Owl-o-ween and came up
with a scene and characters deal
ing with the Charlie Brown gang.
Eventually, we decided on supplies
and props for the float.
"After about three weeks, we
came up with the final product
on October 16, Homecoming Day,
fifteen minutes before the game
started and went on a parade
around the field.”
Class of '79 helps to get the thought across— "Whoooooooooo’s in the casket?” Lucille Aquilone
Class of '80 young but willing to help— "The Drowning of the Owls’
Class of '77 presents a cheerful float for the nominees (wasn’t judged)
