Britney Book

Executive Director
Siouxland CARES

E-Mail: [email protected].
Phone:
712-301-2583 712-255-3188

Professionally…

I have the great opportunity of serving as the Executive Director of Siouxland CARES
About Substance Abuse. This is a role I stepped into following many years of involvement
with the organization. One of the best parts about my job is that I get to work with our
many wonderful community partners and incredible youth leaders!

Personally...

I am originally from the Siouxland area (growing up in SSC). Attended college at the
University of Nebraska - Lincoln (Go Big Red!). Following college, I moved back to the area
with the hopes of making a difference in this community. Through my involvement, I met
my wonderful husband, Bryce. Together, we have a mini poodle named Emilia.

This Is Kind Of Fun About Me...

I grew up in family of small business owners. Throughout my childhood, my parents
owned a childcare center, two laundromats and close to 15 rental properties. The
childcare center is celebrating 30 years of business this year and (thankfully) the
laundromats were sold a number of years ago! These small businesses were a huge part
of my upbringing.

On My Bucket List...

A trip to Germany, Austria and Switzerland!

The Joy Of Being An Ambassador…

I love helping with the Small Business EXPO! Too often, small businesses are overlooked
because of their size and lack of resources. I love that the EXPO gives them a chance to
stand out from the crowd and, similarly, reminds the community that these businesses are
an important part of our economy.

Currently I work at WITCC as a Career and Industry Specialist. I work with school districts
to engage students in work-based learning opportunities through job shadows,
internships, worksite tours and classroom speakers. These efforts help students prepare
for their post-secondary education and help the community develop their future
workforce.

Personally...

I am a mother, wife and lover of wine and fashion. I like to spend my time boating with
family and friends during the summer, as well as taking time for Girls Days which typically
include wine tastings. As a certified Pilates instructor, I also promote health and wellness.

On My Bucket List...

Traveling Napa and Sonoma.

The Joy Of Being An Ambassador…

I enjoy the commaraderie among the ambassadors and the connections made in the community.
Wherever we are, laughs are sure to be had. I value the networking opportunities that have
been provided to me through this group of wonderful people. The Chamber has always been
there with answers when I have been searching for them.

This Is Kind Of Fun About Me...

My parents so desperately wanted a son when I was born that they only had "Edward

delivery nurse name. Hence I received the name Nancy Jean. (Yes I'm grateful her name
was not Hermingard or Willamena).
