class. Even though I didn’t win the game and get any point at all,
but I was very happy to gain a new experience like that. For me
the game was an effective method of icebreaking, because after
finishing the game, it feels easy to study because our brain is
relaxed and happy after playing the game.

The other memorable event was when we were asked to
express our feeling about other parents, especially mother, for
many of my friends, it was heart breaking, because it made them
realize the love of their parents to them is uncountable. For this
reason, it is a very good lesson for us, it doesn’t only make us
realize how good our parents is to us, but also how to appreciate
our parents. The one event that still I remembered well was the
short drama that required a lot of vocabulary knowledge and
grammar, especially gerund, this drama doesn’t only teach us
about grammar, but also how to act to a situation, the name of
my drama was ”Wake Up”, the drama told us about the struggle
of a student that wanted to be appreciated with a lot of
flashback, even though my team was the last to collect the
drama to Ms. Dayang due to our busy members, we were afraid
that our drama is going to be failure but we are lucky to have
friends that support my team to make it success, it was so
successful that Ms. Dayang told us that her children likes to
watch our drama every time she wanted to eat. Knowing this
happy news, it made us very satisfied about what we have done.

To be honest, I felt disappointed when I heard that Ms.
Dayang could not teach us anymore for the 11th grade. However,
for me, it is still a valuable time to be taught by her back then. I
was satisfied to learn new things about English with her. She has
good understanding toward our problems when it comes to

study English. She also managed and guided us to be better
students. Even though it’s not my dream to be a teacher, but I
really hope that someday I can become someone like her in the
future. To be intelligent, we need to raise a good personality in
order to be loved by many people.

ABOUT THE WRITER

I was born in Balikpapan, on August 9th, 1998.
My elementary and junior high school is IPEKA
Balikpapan. Now, my senior high school is SMA
Negeri 1 Balikpapan and now I’m a 11th grade
student. My hobbies are playing music and
doing some sports like basketball, soccer, volley,
and many more. Some achievements that I’ve ever got are
Olympiad and Choir.
My friends and I were formed into group to joined
Olympiad PKLH that was held in SMP Negeri 1 and SD Bayangkari
(when I was in junior high school), we've got 2nd place after SMP
Negeri 1 Balikpapan. Then, in senior high school, we have
SMANSA Choir who always got the champion in every
competition. One of them is the 1st place for SC group A (The
group that I was in) when Lomba Paduan Suara SLTA (Karang
Taruna) Balikpapan in 2014.

Have you ever been studying and suddenly this thought
came into your mind? “Why am I even doing it? What is
the point of spending most of my times at the school
since I was 6? Why do I give up my sleep hours for that bunch of
home works?”. Well, I have. Honestly, every time it arises in my
mind, dozens of memories and struggles follow to pop up. It
seems like I am reminded that I was the one who decided to do
those things.

When I was a child, I used to say proudly to everybody
that when I am a grown-up someday, I am going to participate in
building the world peace and make it a better place. It may
sound way too dramatic at that time. However as the time went
by, I now understand what I shall do to make the future I’ve
always dreamt about something and wish to make it coming
true. I would like to be the part of “United Nation” organization.
By being there, I will face countless issues in every corner of the
world, and act for it with a total awareness of the people’s
various perspectives. I will be one of those who stand up for the
rights of people entitled to be defended. I will try to change the
world into a better place for those people who used to think it’s
not for the people who struggled living there since this world is
not just for some people but it’s ours.

I know, it will be intricated to reach my dream. I am really
sure it’s possible. It just needs a big effort to achieve it. That’s
approximately my reason of striving here. I’m not just studying
or doing my home works, I’m preparing to stand up for all of us

ABOUT THE WRITER

Rizca Shafira Salsabila Makasuci was born on
September 4, 1999 at Magelang. However,
she spent the early years of her life in a
small house at Semarang with her parents-
Ari Makasuci and Yayuk Sri Rahayuningtyas
along with her little sister-Najwa
Khairunnisa. Rizca attended primary school in SDIT Al-Azhar 14
Semarang before she moved to SDIT Al-Auliya 1 Balikpapan. She
then continued her education in SMPN 1 Balikpapan and took
acceleration program. Now she is actively studying as the 2nd
year student of SMAN 1 Balikpapan.
Rizca has put interest in writing since she was young.
When she was in elementary school, she always joined annually
writing competition which is held by her school. She didn’t join a
lot of competition when she was in junior high school but she
kept a secret blog and some diaries. Then, she met MD (Ms.
Dayang) in SMAN 1 Balikpapan who really admired books and all
kinds of writing. MD is the person who once again sparked her
passion and pushed her to publish her thoughts again. With MD,
she joined EF Writing Competition, Kemendikbud National
Writing Competition, and Becomes an active member of
SMANSA Reading and Writing Community (RW.COM). She is now
focus on learning more because she wants to actualize her long-
term goal to write books like one of her idols, Ralph Petrucci.

I used to think about togetherness when I was a kid. I love the
word ‘togetherness’ at that time although I still love that
word until now even though with lower percentage. As I
started growing older, I found that actually I’m an introvert girl,
so I feel better when I’m just alone than working in a group.
When I was alone, I always had a lot of ideas to do and it still
happen until now! I’m such a person who can’t express my
feeling directly, So since I was a kid, I’ve ever taught about “how
can I express my feeling and what will I do if I am not brave
enough to express my feelings directly?”. By that time, I just
knew that I really love reading, and I had an interest on writing at
that time. I don’t know why, but I loved words like ‘Novel’,
‘Story’, and ‘Diary’

When I was in the middle of grade 6 in Elementary School,
I had some obsesses with poetical words. It really made me
could got the feeling in the story. Yeah, Poetical Words must be
cool for everyone! Poetical Words often touch the deepest part
of my heart. Because of that obsession, Ii started to make my
poetical words based on my experiences. Some of them told
about love. Why? Yes, love has a really big influence to our life;
even I’ve ever heard that love is one of a lot of components in
our life. One thing that I like about the meaning of love is love

always make our days colorful than usual. It gives a lot of sense
in our heart, and can make us act like a stupid person. It was
really embarrassing, I think!

From a lot of poetical words that I found, suddenly, there
was a passion in my mind and my heart, it told me and invited
me to make a novel at that time too, there was a big smile in my
face. The first time, when i wrote my own novel, it told about
friendship. It was my friendship, with my first best friend. The
story isn’t finished yet until now, because of some obstacles.
Again, and again, I realized that I have a talent in writing. Usually,
I always had wrong feeling, but for this case, I was right! I was
really happy like the happiest person in the world. I know t was
too much but I can’t hide this feeling.

After knowing it, I write and write more often, and I’ve
never felt like I’m bored or tired when I was writing. There are a
lot of stories right now in my computer, and there are a lot of
books that fulfilled with my feelings, oh I mean like diary.
Honestly, some of the stories almost finished with happy or sad
ending, but now, I feel a little bit harder to find my free time,
because there are a lot of homeworks too. I just hope that all of
my books can be completed as soon as possible, and maybe I can
sell them later. Oh My God, It like dream comes true.

Oh, I learn a lot of things by writing. I know the meaning of
patience, imagination, and more, and especially in keep hoping
of my dreams. Sometimes, I feel it’s really hard, but by keep
hoping, I always have a faith, and my relationship is closer with
God. I can know more about expressions that I feel, I can learn it
and ut makes me become a better girl in facing my problems. I
promise to myself that I can be like J.K Rowling, with a lot of

“best selling” books and with my name in those books: “Elvira
Linda Sihotang...”. It’s the best moment of my life right now.
Everything will be my best moments as long as I can express my
feelings. Because for me, expressing ideas is the best thing I’ve
ever known. Love and always love art. You have your real world
and you can do anything in your world. Just express it, because
emotions are created to be expressed and not for saving it in the
heart. Sometimes it makes you fall down that you just a liar.

ABOUT THE WRITER

Elvira Linda Sihotang was born on July,
24th 1999 in Balikpapan. She is the first
daughter of J.Sihotang and A.Simbolon.
She has a brother and the difference age
between them is 2 years. Now, she goes to
SMAN 1 Balikpapan and in the school, she
loves to study Mathematics, and Science. She was the student of
SMPN 6 Balikpapan previously.
Since she was kid, she has loved writing. She also loves to
painting, singing and photography. She loves stories from
everywhere. Even, she has ever be a sudden psychologist. Last
year, she was a fan of Taylor Swift, and this year she is still trying
to find her favorite. Although like that, she thought that she will
be the fan of Harry Potter Series forever. She has ever joined a
choir in Junior High School and won the second place in Choir
Competition for East Borneo. She has not decided yet what she
will be in the future, but she hope that her job will be in the part
that she love.
