God Honors Movement Workbook

A study about how God has honored your movement in the past, and is fully prepared to honor your movement going forward.

Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd.  After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray.  Later that night, he was there alone,  and the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake.  When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,”  they said, and cried out in fear. But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”“Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”“Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.” Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. It is I. Welcome to your new God Honors Movement workbook. You have now taken the next step in understanding how God has honored your movements in the past, and is fully prepared to honor your movements going forward. This study is an extension of both the God Honors Movement book and the teaching included in the videos you will be viewing. Our prayer is that as you work through these lessons, you will be inspired to go and put into action the movement into which God is calling you. Each week, we’ll walk you through one lesson covering three chapters. As we dive into a chapter, we’ll examine the main points of the chapter, study scripture that shows these principles of movement, and then walk through questions to reflect on the Bible reading. After you’ve read through it, take some time to journal. The goal is that you begin to recognize the patterns of why and when God honors movement both in the lives of those recorded in scripture and in your personal life. While this will help you if you work through it alone, doing this with a study group can be extremely encouraging and enlightening. Hearing the struggles, challenges, miracles, and breakthroughs of others will help you see that you’re not alone on this incredible journey. Welcome

Heavenly Father, I pray for the one holding this workbook. I ask You to reveal to them the circumstances needed for You to honor their personal movements. May there never be another day that they move in a direction You do not honor. May they begin to discern Your voice above the fray of the noise and voices around them. May they distinguish Your directives as they walk out the steps You have planned for them. May they see You rise up and bring supernatural blessings on their every move. Open doors for them they cannot open themselves. Turn on light where there is darkness. Give them unnatural favor with God and man. In Jesus’ name, amen. The Author’s Prayer For You

God could do things by Himself, but He cares about the WAY things happen. He cares about how we develop in our relationship with Him. Two things are happening here: He is trying to get us to a place where we trust Him, and He’s trying to get to a place that He trusts us. First, movement draws us closer to God by teaching us to trust Him enough to take a risk. God wants us to move because it draws us closer to Him. When we make a move that no one else understands or that others think we are crazy for making, we learn we can rely on God. This helps us know Him in ways we otherwise couldn’t if we just sat still and watched life pass us by. • We learn the sound of His voice. • We learn what the nudging of His spirit is. • We learn to distinguish His voice vs. our emotions. Second, movement draws us closer to God by granting the power of anointing. God longs for an intimate relationship with us.

Everything He leads us into has the end objective of relationship with Him. We also need to distinguish between gifting and anointing. Giftedness does not guarantee anointing. There are two types of gifting: • Natural Gifts – singing, administration, music, dancing, speaking, finance, etc. • Supernatural Gifts – wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, discernment of spirits, tongues, interpretation of tongues Bible Reading Philip’s Revival and the Ethiopian Eunuch - Acts 8:4-8 - Acts 26-39 CHAPTER 1 PAGE 8

PAGE 11 Write down what you plan to do during your intimate time with the Holy Spirit this week. This is your intentional effort to attract the anointing. To do’s Heavenly Father, I pray that You would keep me acutely aware that I am nothing without You. Let me remember daily that I must lean on You to accomplish the assignment You have placed on my life. Allow me to dwell in Your presence and walk close to You. Help me understand that Your use of me does not guarantee Your approval of me. Teach me to intentionally draw closer to You through constant conversation with You and studying Your word. Prayer

It is I. Faith comes from hearing that is intently listening. God has mountains for you to climb. He may even want you to jump off of one. God is always speaking to us. He will often use methods around us to confirm His word to us. When He provides a confirmation, it will never contradict His written Word. Ways He speaks to us: • He may speak directly to our hearts with revelation. • Someone may provide a prophecy. • He may reveal things in a dream. • A song may carry a divine message. Two essential ingredients to growing in faith: • Seed - The Word of God is the seed. Read it. • Planting – We plant the seed by: • Receiving the Word • Trusting the Word • Acting on the Word. When God was preparing Joseph to become the secondhighest leader in the land of Egypt, it was vital that he be the right kind of person when he got there. God also worked on Pharaoh to bring him to a place of trusting someone like Joseph, who had come from prison. This process of elevating someone who seemed arguably unqualified brought God an opportunity to display His Glory. God takes pride in calling people and then qualifying them to walk in their calling. A process of this nature brings glory only to God. When you personally go through a process like this, it grows your trust in God. At what might have been the lowest point in his life, Joseph had no idea just how close he was to seeing God’s Word come to pass! When he was only one week away from having a royal escort into the palace, there was nothing around him to confirm that he was making any progress towards seeing his dream fulfilled. CHAPTER 3

At each test of our faith, we have a choice: • Trust God’s Word • Give in to our doubts and feelings This place of perspective is the realm of revelation. If God says it will happen, it will happen. What God wants from you is a willingness to trust in His Word. Even when we don’t understand God’s process, we should never doubt His word. The process develops character. Character merits promotion. And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? - Luke 18:1-7 (KJV) God is not just trying to get us to accomplish great things. He is seeking to draw us into a relationship of trust in Him and in His word. When we pray, we are bringing together the key elements of God’s supernatural movement in this world through us. Here are three ways that cause God’s Word to move in and through us. 1. Prayer creates an atmosphere of purification. We can’t move on to the blessings God has for us if we are hanging onto sin in our lives. Jesus has clean hands and a pure heart, and through prayer, we inherit everything that Jesus does. CHAPTER 4

2. Prayer creates an atmosphere of discovery. In His presence, we discover what God has intended for our lives. He unfolds His plans for us. 3. Prayer creates an atmosphere of activation. Our faith will be boosted by our experience in God’s presence. This will launch us into action. Faith must always be manifested in works. Prayer must be the engine of your movement, or you’ll never really experience what happens when God puts His super on your natural! Bible Reading Hannah Prays for a Child - I Samuel 1 PAGE 30

When you take time to listen to God’s voice and sacrifice out of obedience, you transition into the miraculous. What if we decided that being blessed was not enough? What if we became hungry to see the miraculous? Examples of sacrifice leading to miracles: • Abraham – He was willing to sacrifice his one son and became the father of millions. • Widow of Zarapeth – She gave her last meal and was sustained economically. • Naman – He sacrificed his pride and received healing of terminal illness. There are primary movements that trigger God to put His super on your natural. 1. Get away to a quiet place and listen to His still, small voice. Here you will receive directions. 2. Obey the instruction God gives you. 3. Identify any sacrifices needed to obey God’s directives. 4. Act on that sacrifice in faith. CHAPTER 6 PAGE 41 Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. It is I. Some people don’t move because they are paralyzed by fear. This is rooted in a deeper problem - lack of trust. The rich young man made an initial move to connect with Jesus, but then he came to a place where he determined that he could not make the necessary sacrifice requested to continue on to where Jesus had called him. CHAPTER 6 Questions 01. What does this story teach us about the quantity of resources Jesus needs to meet your needs? 02. If God does not judge us by how much we have to offer, how does He qualify us to be used by Him for a miracle? 03. Though it seemed like a meager offering, who was affected by the boy’s willingness to contribute his lunch? 04. How did the boy’s sacrifice affect his family? How does our sacrifice for God affect our own homes? PAGE 43

To do’s CHAPTER 6 Heavenly Father, Thank You for each and every time You have asked something of me. Forgive me for those times that I hesitated or even declined to do as You asked. Help me realize that You only request that I sacrifice something when You have something much greater to give me in exchange. Prayer Make a list of those times that God asked you to sacrifice something. Parallel to that list, jot down how He blessed you in return. This will help build your trust in Him. As you see His faithfulness for you in the past, it will build your faith in Him to bless you moving forward.
