THE SONGS OF NATURE

The nature has its own songs to play,
As loud as lightning in the sky,

And as soft as the sound of drizzle.

The nature has its own songs to play,

STARS

Peering wistfully out of my rusty window case,
The bitter, creep breeze, fresh on my face.
Not a sound to be heard; complete silence,
Only the slight rattling of the rickety fence.
Natures divine of what beauty lies within,
More than a trillion crystal up above; all of same kin.
Diamonds, shimmering and glimmering in the dimly lit-up sky,
So many gleaming beauties, I wonder how high.
It was a childish and naive wonder, if I could hold one of these in my hand,
Or if on my doorstep, one day, a shooting star would land.
With my hands, I would clasp it tight,
Close my hands and wish with all my might.
They seem so minuscule, yet many are bigger than our Earth,
Some stars are now dying, yet some are still at birth.
What a wonder! I notice the shape of a bear.
I lean far out of my window, exuberant, the gust blowing my hair.
A bull and a scorpion! What shapes made by those pearls,
I gaze in awe as a glistening shooting star hurls.
But, oh heavenly bodies up above; what does thou truly mean,
They all say 'Souls of the Dead' of prophecies not unseen.
Oh scattered moon-dust, thy gleaming glow blinds my eyes,
From deeper within thy core and the truth that lies.

PASSION FOR FASHION

“I don’t do fashion, I am fashion!” beautifully said by Coco Channel…is indeed true. One must learn how to
appreciate themselves, fashion on the outside reflects the beauty on the inside. Fashion has been progressively
improving over the years. Every era has and has had its own fashion: Mogli and Tarzan, wore nothing but a red
skirt, our ancestors covered themselves with animal skin, at one point of time leaves and flowers were used to
cover the body. But time really does fly. Today innumerable clothing items exist but the purpose of wearing them
has changed drastically! Nowadays people dress up not to cover or protect themselves but to please the eyes of
others. Today fashion reflects class and status. Have you ever seen a brand or price tag on something that our
ancestors wore? People guess the money in your bank account by the clothing that you put on.

If you really love fashion then you would not judge someone for theirs. A true fashion lover will very well know
how to put their feet in someone else’s shoes! The value of inner beauty is nothing compared to what you portray
thorough outer beauty nowadays. Your cloths and accessorize may be worth millions but today your thoughts are
literally worth a penny! (A penny for your thoughts on this?)

Instead of updating your wardrobe, update your thinking, instead of modernizing become
modest…….because if you change nothing, nothing will change!

Such ideas not only create awareness within the students but also inculcate interest towards
sports amongst them.

We want to extend heartfelt thanks to school for providing such opportunity for parents to

Dear Principal,
Greetings and thank you very much for keeping us posted.

As a parent , I am happy to experience that , any issue taken up with your
team ( even casually/verbally) is immediately acknowledged in writing and
mostly acted up on also , to name

specifically Mrs Ragini Ranjan Mal . Also I note that feed backs given to

your team are instantly noted on dairy. This is a trait /attribute / quality
which I have not experienced earlier from other schools.

Dear Monika,

It is indeed heartening to see the support that Lotus Valley Gurgaon has demonstrated.

Rally for Rivers has caught the attention and imagination of the entire nation. The Rally
began from Coimbatore on 3rd September 2017 and as you receive this letter, the Rally is
continuing on its way up to Northern India to garner the support of many more citizens of
our country to save our depleting rivers. Fuelled by massive public support, the Rally for
Rivers will culminate on 2nd October in Delhi with Isha Foundation presenting an
overarching and holistic policy recommendation draft to the Central Government for the
revival of our rivers.

Rally for Rivers has seeped into the minds of myriad sections of the society and has truly
become a people’s movement. But, most importantly, it is the sheer fervour and
involvement of our children and youth, which has indeed painted the nation Blue in the last
few weeks and is still continuing to do so.

Be it through creativity (writing/mega art/videos, etc.), or spreading awareness about our
dying rivers or be it a vote through a missed call to 80009 80009, the unanimous support of
the students and the staff of your school has played a significant role in making the Rally for
Rivers a successful campaign by generating much needed support and visibility.

Now, even though we consider you a part of our own team in this cause, we still wish to
acknowledge the wholehearted participation of your school in this endeavour of saving
India’s lifelines and express our gratitude for your overwhelming response towards leaving
our planet well for the generations to come.

Thank you!

Dear Madam,

I write this to convey my note of thanks to Lotus Valley International School and
Swati Ma'am, for inviting us and allowing us to participate in the International
sports day event today.
It was a stupendous feeling to become a child again, along with our kids, and to
re-live our childhood memories. The parents and teachers basketball event
indeed took us on a nostalgic journey.

It was also exciting to make acquaintance with the other parents, who equally
participated with zeal, making this event a wonderful experience.
Ria, my daughter and her friends were the elated cheer leaders for us and kept us
motivated throughout the event to win.

I thank you once again for inviting us over and adding one more memorable
chapter in our journey with Lotus Valley International School.
Look forward to many more such occasions in the future.

With Gratitude,

BEYOND CLASSROOMS...

DEAR TImE

Reading books is a pre- requisite for achieving
success in today’s competitive world as it opens
doors to all kinds of new worlds for the ones who
read them. In addition, reading is a fun and
imaginative activity for children. It also helps to
develop fluency in communicating.

In order to inculcate interest in reading in our
learners and in the process of making them robust
readers of tomorrow, our school organized the
DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) TIME
PROGRAMME on Monday, 31st July, 2017. The

‘DEAR TIME’ witnessed the entire school utilizing
the allotted time period for reading books.
Teachers and learners participated actively in the
programme by getting books from home to read. It
encouraged the learners as well as the teachers to
undertake silent reading and develop the habit of
reading daily. The programme gave learners the
time to read- what they want to read and share-
what they have read. It was an enriching
experience for all as each one of us started the day
with the wonderful habit of reading.
