As a multimedia committee, I am responsible to design as well as to be a photographer
throughout our expedition. As starting, let’s follow me to design a memorable look with an

banner, program book and button badge. Before I print the products, for sure I need to

WHAT I DO?
AS A MULTIMEDIA COMMITTEE
For this expedition, I volunteered myself to be a
multimedia committee. As a multimedia committee,
I am responsible to design as well as to be a
photographer throughout our expedition. As
starting, let’s follow me to design a memorable look
with an equally memorable journey. The design will
be applied at various products such as logo, banner,
program book and button badge. Before I print the
products, for sure I need to design the looks and the
concept for them first. The design should match
with the nature and city as stated as our expedition’s
name.
"Take only memories leave only
footprints"
Meanwhile during the trip, I was responsible to
capture all the moment in aesthetic way possible for
every destination and activities that we had done.
These pictures will act as a prove that we had
accomplished the activities to be inserted in the
magazine report.
Even after the trip, my task was not done yet. I need
to transfer all the pictures that had been captured
using the camera to the google drive. After that, I
collaborated with the secretary to prepare a
magazine type report in interesting way possible
and included all the pictures that have been taken
inside it. Last but not least, I need to prepare a
travelog video that share about all of our memories
and experience during the trip. This video can also
act as a promotional video of the attraction that we
had visited to gain more visitors and tourists in the
future.

DESIGN 03
LOGO
First and foremost, I need to design the logo for
our expedition. This logo will represent our
“Wonder of Nature & City” expedition trip
identity. All the elements inside the logo were
related in our expedition planning. Let’s start
with the location, as we all know, we will visit
Dabong, Kelantan and Kuala Lumpur. Just like
the name, both locations represent the contra
vibe which Dabong represents nature
meanwhile Kuala Lumpur represent the city.
Therefore, I inserted the Kuala Lumpur city and
Nature inside the logo. Not forgetting the house
represents the lodge that we will be staying in
Dabong. The backpacker stickman represents
our theme for this trip which is backpacker. I
chose black and white as the colour so it will
keep the minimalist concept and can match in
any background colour. Last but not least, there
is also our class name which represents us. Out
of 5 design that has been made only 1 was
chosen to be finalized.
18
Our Expedition
BANNER
Let’s move on into the How I decided the banner’s design? Firstly, I thought of the
highlight of this trip which is highlight of this trip which is the KTM Intercity, transportation
the banner. This banner is used that we used to arrive Dabong. Most of the time, people travel by
to draw peoples’ attention and their own cars. Travelling by train is one of the rarest things to do
focuses on the message that is but interesting. Therefore, KTM Intercity is the highlight for the
being delivered as well as to day. Next, I tried to arrange the information inside the banner as
promote our program. Why is tidy and interesting way possible. Then, I tried to use a
it important? It is because this background colour that can make our expedition trip details to
banner will represent the trip stand out and easy to read. Finally, I added a few pictures of the
that is currently going on. It attraction and activities that we will experience on the occasion
needs to be available 24 hours day. For the last touch, by the help and advise from the lecturers, I
with us so we can display it in tried to arrange the elements in the banner to make it interesting
every occasion that we had and tidy and finalize the design.
done in the picture to indicate
the Wonder of Nature and City
expedition trip.
19
BANNER
SELECTION DESIGN
BUTTON BADGE For the button badge, it was used as a souvenir
for our trip. I just inserted our logo in the design
with an additional touch up which Was the
destination of our trip. I remained the black and
white theme colour to maintain the simple And
nice concept for the button badge. Though the
design is simple, this button badge still can bring
back us all the memories that we experienced
during the expedition
FRONT LUGGAGE TAG
The luggage tag is used as tourist identification which it might help
us if our bag is missing. Therefore, in this trip luggage tag is a
must. This tag will be in 2-sided page form where the front part
will be the banner’s design and the back side will consist the
participant's basic information such as name, phone number and
home address which will be enough information for someone to
identify the owner of the missing bag. I also inserted our
expedition logo and a QR code. The QR Code will forward us to
digital program book where all the information of expedition is
there.
BACK
22
PROGRAM Program book is used to convey information to the
BOOK participants regarding our expedition trip and also to show
them our program’s itinerary. For the program book design, I
maintain the use of royal blue background colour to match
the banner design. I trIed to change the fonts used in the
program book to make it different. Despite changing it, I still
manage to use a neat and eye-catching font to read. This
program book is in the book form where it can only be folded
by 2 parts. This program book consists of 20 pages including
front and back which maDe it a bit thicker. However, the
content of it is not boring and full of information about our
destinations and attraction Dabong, Kelantan and Kuala
Lumpur. I also included some important information such as
weather forecast, prayer time, emergency contact and
itinerary. This program book also provideD some guidance
about the LRT usage in Kuala Lumpur and information on
accommodation and restaurants that we will visit. Not to
forget, there are also mini games inside it to entertain the
participants who might feel bored while in the transportation.
Most importantly, this program book can be access in digital
form by scanning the QR codes that will display at the back of
their luggage tag.

Transportation is the movement of goods and persons from place to place and the
various means by which such movement is accomplished. On 6-9 June 2022,
Students of Diploma in Tourism Management Semester 4 held a "Wonder Of
Nature & City" expedition in Kelantan and Kuala Lumpur. This expedition runs for 4
days 3 nights.
For this trip, we were going to take three types of transportation: train, bus, and
van. So as the transportation committee, I was responsible for providing the
transportation needs for this expedition.
32
“On public transportation, you see things that

no one should have to ever see."
BUS RENTAL
On the first day, we boarded a
rental bus that we had reserved
ahead of time. At 8 p.m., this bus
brought us from Politeknik
Ibrahim Sultan to Gemas Railway
Station. Our journey took 3 hours
to Gemas Railway Station
For your information, this bus has
33 seats. We are pleased because
this bus is very clean and comfy
for lengthy trips. Furthermore,
the bus driver is friendly to us.
After arriving at Gemas Railway
Station, we unloaded the goods
and had the opportunity to take
pictures with the bus driver and
give a few tips as a sign of our
gratitude to the driver.
We hope to utilize this bus rental service again in

TRAIN TO
DABONG
KTM Intercity is the brand name for a
group of diesel-hauled intercity train
services in Peninsular Malaysia, Southern
Region, Singapore and Thailand operated
by Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB).
A few operate solely along the East Coast
line between Tumpat and Gemas and on to
Singapore.
We traveled by KTM Intercity train from
Gemas to Dabong after purchasing a
ticket a month before our move. We took
sleeper coach to Dabong. We departed at
118 a.m. and arrived at 9:40 a.m. in
Dabong ( 7 June 2022 ). It took us 8 hours
to get there.
We are excited and happy because this is
our first time traveling by train and
experiencing the sleeper coach on our way
to Dabong.
34
RENTAL VAN
We used the van rental service supplied
by Jelawang Pipe Resort after arriving at
Dabong Train Station. Abe Nik (Nik Ali Nik
Muhammad) as the driver greeted us.
This van seats 14 people and includes full
air conditioning. This van is very
comfortable for a large group, and the
driver also serves as a tourist guide,
sharing and explaining in-depth our
activities and sights visited.
We feel at ease and delighted to have met
Abe Nik, who is extremely nice to guests
and we hope to meet again and enjoy the
services of Jelawang Pipe Resort one day.

for lengthy excursions because of its plush
