An award-winning writer and artist, Karen Pierce Gonzalez’s chapbooks include Coyote in the Basket of My Ribs (Kelsay Books), Moon kissed Earth wrought Vision drunk (Bottlecap Press), Down River with Li Po (Black Cat Poetry Press), Sun and Moon Wired Together (Midsummer Dream House), Mountains of Ocean:10 Waves and RavenSong (Poetic Librettos/Four Feathers Press). A poetry performance artist, she has facilitated poetry performance workshops, and several short plays have been staged at bay area fringe festivals.Other presentations include fusing folklore into poetry and how to write into the season with poetry, prose, and folklore. Her original folktales have been featured on international podcasts, and she is publisher of the quarterly Ekphrastic Folk Art blogzine.To date 85+ of her intuitive artworks have been published in a range of chapbooks and journals, including Hedgehog Poetry Press’s Little Black Book (with Marcelle Newbold), and Chestnut Review.
