The Ziegler sisters have taken leaps in life, dance and now in the wor y
teaming up to create a new scent. They chat to TG about their latest collab.
Hi girls! So Maddie, last year you released
your own Impulse Body Spray and now it’s
Kenzie’s turn. Tell us about it.
Maddie: I was so excited to work on this
collaboration with Kenzie. We had so much fun
coming up with surprise combinations for our new
body spray and we loved filming the campaign
video [TG note: read TG’s Rosie’s hilar take on
the vid at totalgirl.com.au]. We loved working
together as well, because [we don’t] as much as Impulse x
we used to. Mackenzie Ziegler

What is it like working together now?
M: When we were little, Kenzie and I used to
fight all the time when we worked together. We Impulse x

and it’s like why did we fight? We understand
and respect each other more. Now look at us,
we’re BFFs!
Kenzie, ‘Burnt Marshmallow & Leather Jacket’? What
was the inspo behind your unique scent?
Kenzie: I was thinking about how I love marshmallow, and
leather jackets have a really cool scent. So we were mixing it
together and it actually smells really good. It was all so fun and
I can’t wait for everyone to try it.
Maddie, tell us about your scent, ‘Lotus Flower & Lime’?
M: Mine’s a little more simple. I love a sweet scent and it was
the perfect combination.

From your scents, we’re getting the
vibe that Kenzie is the edgy one
and Maddie is a little more zen. Is
that right?
M: It’s funny coz of our zodiac signs –
I’m a Libra and I’m a little more relaxed
and Kenzie is a Gemini and a little more
crazy, so I guess our scents represent
our personality as well.

You have both achieved so much in life. When was a time
you trusted your instincts and it paid off?
M: When I did ‘Chandelier’ I was scared getting into it, it was all
new to me. I was nervous to express myself but once I did, I was
so happy. I went forward even though I was second-guessing
myself and it was an amazing outcome.
K: I’ve been writing a lot of music and I went into writing not
knowing what to do. But in the end, it all paid off. It can be
very scary coming out with new music but I’m happy and have
received lots of amazing feedback and so it has all worked out.
What advice do you have for TGs wanting to try dance
or a new sport but don’t feel confident enough?
K: I wasn’t very confident when I first started doing comps and
dancing, but I found my passion for dance again after getting
back into it. Put yourself out there, don’t be afraid, because if
you love something then you should give it a go.
M: There have definitely been times I’ve felt really
stuck or in a rut. Go back and remember why you
love it, why you started. I have an amazing sister and
amazing friends who inspire me and keep me going,
and I have them to thank for that.
Besides dancing what other sports do you like?
K: I think if I weren’t dancing, I would probably be
doing gymnastics or soccer.

M: I think we were meant to be dancers, but I would
probably try basketball.

Lastly, any plans on visiting Australia or NZ?
K: We love Australia and New Zealand, we don’t
have plans right now but hopefully we can come
back soon.
M: It’s our favourite place to go so any chance
or opportunity we can go and visit, obviously we
will take it.

It’s defi nitely an adventure. Xander’s the new kid in town, Where did you source inspiration for
living with his super strict grandfather, and in the midst of all your role?
