Wood Type Introduction
The type of wood you use for your
furniture determines the beauty and

At Hulta Design, we offer different types of
wood and each has its own
characteristics and properties.
Oak Wood
Oak is a very popular hardwood, it is very hard
wearing and heavy. It is known for having lovely
open wood grain markings.
An excellent choice for all kinds of wood
furniture.
Maple Wood
Maple wood is a strong and durable wood type.
As maple wood is so strong and moisture
resistant, it is the ideal wood to withstand years of
wear and tear. Maple wood is pale in color and
has natural swirls and twists in the wood grain.
Walnut Wood
Walnut is a hardwood known for its strength,
straight grain and its rich chocolate brown
color.
Walnut can be a very versatile wood, offering
a range of shades and grains to complement
your décor
Beech Wood
Beech is a hard, strong and heavy wood. It
has a fine, tight grain and even texture.
Beech wood is very light in color and has a
high shock resistance. It is a popular wood for
furniture and will give your room a warm
feeling
Mahogany Wood
Mahogany is an expensive hardwood and
varies in color from a medium brown to a
deep red brown, depending on its age.
It is a very traditional, versatile and popular
type of wood.
Teng Wood
Teng wood is a characterful rich red-brown with
dark-hued streaks. A very hard wood, it dries well
and keeps its ‘luxury' color.
Its durability makes it suited to heavy load-
bearing and structural use in harbors, railway
construction, and flooring
Golden Teak Wood
Golden teak is one of the world's most valuable
timbers, recognized for its unique durability and
matchless beauty.
Teak withstands all types of weather, is resistant
to the harshest chemicals, and is unaffected by
fungi, rot, and termites. It has an exceptionally
pronounced grain best accentuated by
transparent varnishes
Ash Wood
Ash is a tough hardwood which is known for its
excellent bending abilities.
It is primarily used for bent pieces of furniture
such as a chair with curved backrests. Ash is
light brown in color with a straight grain
Cherry Wood
Cherry wood is medium-weight and is hard
and resilient. It is both strong and elastic.
Cherry hardwood is a moderately durable
wood and very resistant to rot and decay. It is
moderately strong and has a medium ability to
resist shock loads.
Pine Wood
Pine is very affordable and lightweight with a
pale finish which is great for staining. It is less
durable wood compared to hard woods such
as maple or oak.
Pine blends well with other woods, making it
ideal if you are looking for furniture that will
match existing pieces in your home.
Red Oak Wood
Red oak is a hard and heavy wood with
moderate bending strength and stiffness. It has
a high crushing strength and steam bends
well.
The timber can be stained and polished to an
extremely attractive finish, which is one of the
reasons it is becoming increasingly popular
around the world
Acacia Wood
Acacia is a tough hardwood with beautiful
grains that will last for many years under the
rigors of daily life.
Acacia’s rustic charm harmonizes with almost
any decor. Colors can range from light amber
to dark mahogany, and no two are alike.
Poplar
Poplar is a hardwood with medium-density ,
shock resistance, stiffness, and compression
values.
The characteristics of poplar are its closed
wood pores, even staining, durability, and
greater strength.
