ABSTRACT

When Covid-19 hit, the loss suffered by the palm oil industry has deeply impacted the nation’s income
and this has ultimately led to a deceleration in the economic growth. Consequently, Malaysia’s crude
palm oil (CPO) production stopped abruptly, affecting the livelihood of the people. The objectives of
this study are to discover how the setbacks in the CPO industry affected Malaysia’s economic growth
in terms of the annual revenue, how they affected the foreign workforce and provide possible solutions
for this problem. The research methodology utilised is qualitative correlational research through meta-
analysis by means of studying governmental policies and scholarly articles from established websites
as well as interviews with personnels from a CPO agency. The analysis of the interview transcriptions
will be carried out afterwards. The study revealed that there is a significant decrease in Malaysia’s
annual revenue in the past two years. Another finding showed that foreign labourers were forced home
to their countries to adhere to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) which affected the efficiency
of the CPO industry. Moreover, local farmers struggled to bounce back from exponential loss. Hence,
in efforts at creating a more resilient industry, a possible solution is to recruit more plantation workers
among the locals. Another recommendation is for the government to provide financial schemes such
as housing or capitals for local farmers to start over. These measures can help ease the impact of
economic decline on the CPO sector specifically when rising from the rubbles.

ABSTRACT

In the course of the COVID-19 pandemic, lots of facilities and sectors were closed down, including
education wherein many schools and universities had to be closed for safety measures. Students
struggled to adapt to the new method of online learning and this greatly decreases the quality of their
academic performance. However, recently, in most countries, students experienced the transition from
online to physical classes, causing them to lose motivation and excitement in their studies. This study
is conducted to propose an educational event in order to help students get back on track in their
studies. The aim is to spark an interest within the current and future generations with the intention to
assist them to find their passion in life. The decided name for our campaign is Fly Our Youth: Healing
Our Wounds. Using Google Form as our survey method, we will gather information from 200 students
all around the globe. Furthermore, we will distribute posters that are attached to the survey to give a
better insight on the campaign’s motive and the benefits. We believe that this campaign would be able
to provide necessary preparation to students in order to excel in their academics. To sum up, Fly Our
Youth: Healing Our Wounds has the potential to become a convenient, informative and promising
global phenomenon that would open a door to a bright future for our generation.

ABSTRACT

From an infectious epidemic struck for three years, the global economy is recuperating from the
economical strikes of the COVID-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, the global poverty rate is still above the
charts. According to the World Bank Group, almost 150 million people have been estimated to fall in
extreme poverty roughly in two years time since the pandemic phase of COVID-19. Based on research
statistics from various sources, during COVID-19’s economic fallout, more people compared to past
years have become poor and faced economic crisis. The objective of our research is to highlight ways
to survive the post-pandemic phase and reduce the poverty rate in efficient ways. We used several
methods for our research, mainly online research and a survey among our close communities to collect
data regarding our objective. As a result, we have learned that almost 90% of the correspondents faced
economic crisis and they also explained the consequences of the crisis. Most of them are near to the
poverty line and some are in the poverty line estimated by the government. One of our research
outcomes is those affected are very wise in spending money during post-pandemic because they
realise that things are just getting better. This gives them a sense of cautious of what they spend for.
Overall, we aspire the target of ending extreme poverty to the maximum rate. In a nutshell, people
from the poverty line worldwide can survive the post-pandemic phase with support from
governmental organisations and thrive back.

ABSTRACT

The world is seen to be slowly recovering from the global outbreak as most countries changed their
status of COVID-19 from pandemic to endemic. This research aims to analyse the new career paths
that have been created as a result of workers losing their occupations due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Specifically, this research assesses how the new career routes benefit the workers’ daily life despite
changes in employment. Extensive research through the internet was done before a number of workers
were randomly selected to answer a survey on how COVID-19 has changed their work and lifestyle,
its consequences on their family, and how they are currently managing it. The research found that
although the impacts of the pandemic have been devastating, respondents did suggest there have been
some positive impacts. For example, respondents shared they had lost their jobs partly due to their
employer’s inability to provide salaries. However, because of the job losses, they were able to pursue
new career paths, which they had never considered before partly due to their different skill set. Given
the current developing pandemic including the virus is still spreading throughout the community, more
studies can be made to further assess the full impacts of the situation.

ABSTRACT

This paper, under the subtheme “Averting a lost covid generation: the challenges” will explore the
challenges of Orang Asli or the indegenious students in Gombak, Selangor to receive quality
education during the post-pandemic phase. Previous research (UTM Perlis, 2022) have highlighted the
underachievement of Orang Asli students in the education system. Numerous reasons are attributed to
this such as their geographical location, lack of awareness and school environment. The pandemic
further created more barriers for indigenous students to be active participants in the learning process.
Therefore, after two years of on-and-off physical school, the achievements of Orang Asli continues to
degrade as the challenges to keep up with learning becomes harder. The main research question of this
study is to understand the challenges of Orang Asli students in Gombak to be active participants in the
learning process. In order to achieve this, this study employs both qualitative and quantitative
methods, which involve interviews, questionnaires, and documentary analysis. Ultimately, this
research aims to explore ways to enhance the learning outcome of the students. This is in line with the
vision of ‘Education for All’ embedded in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

ABSTRACT

The exceptionally rapid development of COVID-19 vaccines has contributed to the demand for
mechanisms to accommodate global vaccine equity. Vaccine equity acknowledges that no individual’s
life is more valuable than another's. The allocation of vaccines must be unfolded throughout all
nations based on needs, regardless of the recipient’s background. The aim of our research is to prove
why countries accept vaccines and have prejudice against them. Data shows that most countries with
low vaccination rates are low-income countries, thus suggesting that vaccine supplies and affordability
are the main reasons for vaccine hesitation. However, most of these countries are not affected much by
COVID-19, making it unseemingly easy for affordability to become the main cause of vaccine
rejections. Our survey of 100 people from different locations with various backgrounds is carried out
to simulate the situation in the world. Age, living area and vaccination awareness determine the
exposure of the individuals to vaccination. We wish to emphasise on the advantages and
disadvantages found as a result of the equal distribution of vaccines around the world. In addition, the
number of people who accepted and strongly rejected the vaccine were attributed to the different
factors found from our research. In summary, each citizen plays an important part in learning the
importance of vaccine equity towards the world.

ABSTRACT

Many are languishing from the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. Naturally, this outbreak has
adversely influenced most countries around the globe. In essence, the penury rate is much affected by
the fallback of the country's economy. Along with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), our
first goal is to achieve No Poverty. Unfortunately, poverty is not only about finances but has numerous
forms depending on what an individual considers their essential needs. But then, each country faces
many challenges in alleviating the number of people under the poverty threshold. Favourably, poverty
is declining in most parts of the world, but in some countries, poverty reduction is not keeping up with
the global pace. The research objectives are to study the systematic approaches of some countries that
are the most developed and underdeveloped in achieving No Poverty while minding the setbacks and
risks associated with COVID-19. The findings are through online websites and statistics, including
factual information and the experts' opinions. The outcome shows that poverty in both the developed
and underdeveloped worlds is elevating. Although in wealthy countries, poverty is not absolute. The
poor in these nations do not experience famine or starvation contrary to how it has been in the
underdeveloped countries, and although homelessness does occur, it is a multifaceted phenomenon
that can have grounds other than poverty. However, relative poverty is nevertheless poverty.
Consequently, it is significant to know that whilst poverty rates are diminishing, there are still many
indigents worldwide- either in developed or underdeveloped countries.

ABSTRACT

By the third quarter of the year 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak in our country since 2020 has
tamed into an endemic. The purpose of this study is to show how Covid-19 has affected our country in
multiple areas, specifically in career sustainability and emergence of new careers. A sustainable career
is a career that is aligned with one’s interests, strengths, and values, which offers life-long learning
and renewal. COVID-19 has upended the world of employability even more. Employees who still
have jobs have had to be exceptionally nimble, while millions of others lost their jobs entirely, left to
figure out the next steps in an uncertain economy. In the meantime, new careers have started to
emerge from the endemic due to the heightened popularity of the remote and hybrid work modes. We
have collected data from 20 employees through an online survey whose jobs range from accountants
to small entrepreneurs that have gone through a change of work modes due to Covid-19. For example,
many companies have implemented a hybrid work rotation on their employees to reduce contact
among employees when performing work physically. Next, to sustain one’s career, one must be aware
how they add value in the organisation that will help them align themselves with their own career
goals but also with the organisation’s goals. We found that Covid-19 has made a major impact on the
work industry even after the pandemic ends. We must adapt to change with the help of technology.

ABSTRACT

During Covid-19 pandemic, one of the most affected sectors is the Aviation Industry. The Aviation
Industry especially the Airline Industry faces its biggest ever problem in terms of the demands and the
revenue after several months of travel restrictions and travel ban because of the pandemic. Many
airline companies had to close down their business and filed for bankruptcy, and thousands of
employees in this field are also affected. Employees are retrenched as Covid-19 pandemic has
decimated the air travel industry. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the emergence of a new
career path among people who are affected by covid in aviation industry. These workers are working
in the field that has been most negatively affected by the Covid-19 outbreak. The study uses data
collected from extensive research from reading the articles and websites on the internet. The team also
studied a few case studies regarding the effects of Covid-19 pandemic on employee income of the
Malaysian aviation industry. It was determined that there were a few pilots, steward and stewardess
who managed to get back stronger after being affected by the pandemic. Many of them have turned
entrepreneurs to tide over Covid -19 and kick-starting businesses in the hope that they yield returns.
The determination and perseverance to earn their living and made them successfully build a new
career path.

ABSTRACT

As we enter the endemic era, people around the world begin to become aware that the society has been
severely affected by the pandemic. The SDG, also known as “Sustainable Development Goals”,
designed by the United Nations, aims to improve the overall social conditions and economical
structure of countries. In SDG11, the goals are more centered towards building sustainable cities,
community safety and social conditions of the people. Our government has made their efforts in
reducing the damage sustained in communities. Our studies aim to magnify these efforts and to prove
whether they are sufficient in aiding the people. We cannot deny the endeavors made by the
government for instance, the amount of job opportunities has increased in the post-pandemic era.
Subsequently, we discovered the rate of suicide and depression has bolted to another level.
Furthermore, the safety of the people has been at stake constantly because of the absence of
community safety such as reinforcing the facilities that are affiliated with the people of the society as
it correlates with the SDG11 objectives. But amidst all that, we failed to find a dynamic equilibrium
when it comes to how much the effects of Covid-19 have been curved with the providence of the
government. Hence, we are going to observe the efforts done by the government and determine
whether these incentives allow people to be sufficiently equipped and prepared in moving towards the
new phase.

ABSTRACT

The Covid 19 pandemic has impacted social, economic and environmental systems worldwide,
possibly posing a major threat towards achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
According to the SDG report, more than 650 million people were affected due to the pandemic. To
increase one’s income, the government has started campaigns such as eKasih and JaminKerja
programmes that provide career opportunities from multiple scopes. Regrettably, this effort is not
enough as they provide an income that does not fulfil the basic necessities based on Department of
Statistic Malaysia. Consequently, this contributes to the increase of Malaysia’s poverty line, resulting
in the decrease of household income. It also causes the rise of the rate of working poverty in recent
years. As a result, numerous people have lived under the financial struggle; pressuring them to strive
because of the endless increase in their cost of living. Therefore, the aim of our research is to increase
one’s income and provide more job opportunities in the hope to reduce poverty by at least 50 % by
2030. Hence, the Sustainable Income System (S.I.S.) will be developed in order to further enhance the
understanding of the system. This application will assist people with methods and ways to overcome
the financial issue. Subsequently, the methodology that will be used comprises library research as well
as online surveys. The data acquired from this research would be utilised to develop a phone
application in providing a reliable source of data regarding their recent financial status. Ultimately,
this research will provide data on more desirable living conditions.

ABSTRACT

The road to success is not easy to navigate; it twists and turns, and you never know what you will be
facing down the road. Since the lockdown, the education system has experienced a tremendous loss
and numerous changes. One such innovation introduced during the Movement Control Order (MCO)
was the use of online delivery system for education which was formerly thought to be progressive but
is now deemed regressive. Presently, the education system is rising from the rubbles with the
transition to the endemic phase. But, many challenges must be faced in order to grow past our losses.
Throughout our empirical research into its efficacy, we will identify the challenges in adapting to a
new era and the profound effects and implications they have on the nation, as well as the initiatives to
combat these challenges, which could be useful for policy makers in formulating education delivery
systems of the future. It is hoped that this research will help shed some light on the pressing matter
plaguing the present generation, so that urgent measures can be enforced and concentrated effort from
various parties can be made to enable rehabilitation of students with learning losses post-pandemic.
This, in turn, may help us avert a lost Covid generation. Think of this generation as a blank slate rather
than a ruined piece of paper. With optimism, any challenges can be turned into great opportunities.

ABSTRACT

There is a growing aspect of poverty being the main aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic. Ergo, many
transformations of lifestyle and economy could be seen due to this. We have objectified our project
into 3 main parts; to explain the transformations, elaborate the significance of the transformations and
our suggestions for the topic. This research is an observational analytical study using the five
instruments of SDG 01:No Poverty as our guideline and online surveys are conducted to prove our
hypothesis, amongst our school community . As a result, we have surfaced 3 main transformations;
gig economy, upgrade in the usage of new technology inside education norm and Re-skilling and
Upskilling of work forces, in which, have achieved 3 No Poverty goals; economic resources, new
technology and human resources. Substantially, the comparison between the pandemic and post-
pandemic economy and lifestyle greatly contradicts, this contradiction has shown a more positive
economy and lifestyle post-pandemic. In conclusion, though it stunted some pre-pandemic sectors, the
post-pandemic situation created many new opportunities of economic growth and development thus
demonstrating that there is also room for stable financial incomes through surviving the poverty effect
caused by the pandemic.

ABSTRACT

Never has the Malaysian economy taken such a big blow since the Global Financial Crisis as it has in
the past few years. The national gross domestic product (GDP) suffered a severe contraction of -5.6%
in 2020 consequently after the implementation of several Movement Control Orders (MCO) to curb
the spread of COVID-19. More recently, the Russia-Ukraine conflict has led experts to project a
deceleration of regional growth of 5% from its 7.2% initial projection. This study aims to investigate
the impacts of the above mentioned factors to the Malaysian economy and to suggest further measures
needed to rejuvenate the financial state of the country. Literature gathered from various peer-reviewed
journals and media reports that focus on the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic were reviewed to
achieve a baseline understanding of the subject matter. It was found that major sectors such as
tourism, hospitality, healthcare and education were adversely affected. These effects must be heeded
in order to properly address them for the economy to rebound back to its original state. Following this,
several suggestions are included in this paper in order to address the problems raised by the pandemic.
It is pertinent to note, however, that more studies need to be conducted on this subject matter to
prepare Malaysia for similar disasters to come.

ABSTRACT

Malaysia has been hit with the wave of the COVID-19 also known as the Coronavirus Disease ever
since January 2020 and people are now adjusting to live with it. Many including the education sectors
have been affected, forcing students and teachers to deal with various teaching and learning hardships,
familial pressure and self-problems. According to the Education Ministry of Malaysia, a total of
21,316 students quitted school during COVID-19 months of March 2020 to July 2021, so this study
was aimed to analyse the students’ perceptions and attitudes of the alarming rate. This study was
conducted by using the quantitative method with the distribution of questionnaires to Form 4 and
Form 5 students in an integrated fully residential school located in Jempol, Negeri Sembilan. It is
concluded that almost all students shared the same perception of familial embarrassment if they failed
to complete their high-school years and school was one of the factors of them quitting. Based on their
overall attitude, the students were aware of the dropout rate and were perceptive to surrounding
influences either positively or negatively. Therefore, this research acts as an eye-opener of the severity
of this issue among students and an immediate intervention should be revised for them.

ABSTRACT

On 11th March 2020, the World Health Organisation (WHO) declared the outbreak of coronavirus.
Urgency to stop the spread of the virus led many countries to be in a lockdown state where the citizens
were not allowed to go to out in public thus, preventing them to make a living for themselves and their
loved ones. Leading on, the lockdown state then placed the world’s economic status in a bad position.
This then adds more fuel to the big flame, which is the world’s poverty. This research is done to focus
on how and what Malaysian have been doing in order to fight poverty specifically during the transition
from pandemic to endemic phase. In this research, data such as the readiness, social influence,
understanding from the perspective of adolescents and adults, and measurements that are taken to
alleviate poverty and not to mention, the loopholes in the execution of the efforts in the poverty
alleviation process will be gathered from multiple sources and studied thoroughly. Information that
will be used in this research are derived from methods such as article readings, surveys, and
interviews. Through this research, more possible alternatives, and solutions to the alleviation of
poverty can be found.

ABSTRACT

The COVID-19 pandemic has sparked one of the worst disruptions in employment rates, conceiving a
risky and volatile period on multiple fronts—politically, socially, and geopolitically. Undoubtedly,
this has contributed to many achieving a sustainable career. The questions of career sustainability and
the emergence of new career paths in the endemic phase are hoped to be answered in this research. For
instance, how advances in technologies and STEM such as artificial intelligence could make all
systems safer and more helpfully productive. It is also intended to show that, as the endemic unfolds,
career sustainability can be guaranteed through swiftly evolving to digital tools through technology
advancements, and by looking into the hopeful prospect, this malady stimulates new career routes to
emerge. Ultimately, the shift to living and working more intensively with technology is seen as the
answer to surviving the transition from pandemic to endemic. A qualitative approach through internet
and library research, questionnaires, and direct interviews with the students and the general public will
be carried out, allowing us to envision the challenges in the transition process in order to survive the
endemic. From this study, we may conclude that the analysis done will display a more vibrant
attestation on how technologies and STEM these days are adequate for career sustainability and the
emergence of new career paths. Our yearning throughout this study is to arouse this generation to
acknowledge the TRANSITION phase from pandemic to endemic, thus planting an awareness that
this particular chapter is a CHALLENGE to all mankind's SURVIVAL.

ABSTRACT

Coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19 is caused by a newly discovered coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2.
The Malaysian government has planned to procure COVID-19 vaccine through multiple agencies and
companies in order to vaccinate at least 70% of the population. Despite early hope that vaccines may
end the COVID-19 pandemic, large unvaccinated minorities persist even in countries with high
vaccine access. Consequently, public debates and protests have been intensifying over the issue of
vaccination. This study is aimed to determine the knowledge, acceptance , prejudice and perception of
Jasin District educators regarding the COVID-19 vaccine. Using a conceptual framework of COVID-
19 hesitancy, an online, cross-sectional, and self-administered questionnaire and interview were
instrumentalized to survey the acceptability of COVID-19 vaccines among educators. In the result,
educators were more likely to accept Covid-19 vaccine. Similarly, participants who believed that
vaccines are generally safe, effective, protective and those who were willing to pay for vaccines were
more likely to accept the COVID-19 vaccines. However, some were still skeptical and refused
vaccination for some reasons.

ABSTRACT

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there has been a drastic rise in the number of B40 citizens. Based on
the data provided by the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM), 580,000 (20%) of the M40
households are now categorized as B40. These B40 citizens have been facing hardships regarding
daily necessities and were forced to use up their hard-earned savings to financially support
themselves throughout the pandemic and the current endemic era. This complication has pressured
them to seek assistance from the government. The question is; Has the government done enough in
helping these families in the B40 community? Our objective is to discern if the aid and guidance
promised by the government have been fulfilled during the pandemic and is still ongoing in the
endemic era; and if those efforts have alleviated the B40 citizens’ suffering. Quantitative research is
being carried out where a survey questionnaire was distributed widely online to inquire about the B40
citizens' experience with the help provided by the government. A total of 748 subjects above the age
of 20 were gathered and 200 responses from different states in Malaysia were analysed with
descriptive statistics. Results show that more than 50% of the respondents claimed that certain help
was given by the government during the pandemic era, but the help has been inconsistent and
inadequate. This research reflects the problem faced by the current B40 citizens and their perspective
towards the aids and assistance provided by the Malaysian government in taking care of their well-
being.

ABSTRACT

In 2022, the world is experiencing a shift from the Covid-19 pandemic becoming an endemic phase.
We are facing a set of challenges in adapting to this sudden change, especially in the education sector.
The most prominent challenge happens when learning institutions reopen and change from remote
learning to face-to-face learning. As a result, it has impacted the mindset of parents and students in
involving themselves in school activities. Subsequently, student absenteeism has become a rising issue
which is the leading cause to students falling behind in lessons and directly impacts their academic
standing. Showing up to class is fundamental to learning, but schools have little control over absences
and solving the problem is not easy. This research is conducted to identify the matters affecting
student absenteeism and ways to intervene and overcome the problems. A study was conducted
involving students from a selected primary school to figure out their social status, the problems they
are facing, and the factors affecting the students' attendance after the big shift towards an endemic
phase. This study employs three methods; intensive library research, validated questionnaires and
interviews engaging parents, teachers and students of the selected school and various other schools.
Hence, we discovered significant factors impacting the students' attendance. We can conclude that
absenteeism is a critical issue that should be taken seriously by all parties in order to avoid a lost
generation amidst the battle with the Covid-19 threat, specifically in education.

ABSTRACT

This study aims to investigate how to proliferate public’s trust in vaccine equity. Vaccine equity is an
act of ensuring that vaccines specifically Covid-19 vaccines are distributed fairly to all populations
worldwide regardless of one’s socioeconomic status or background. In low-income countries such as
Congo, lower than 10% of people have received at least one dose of vaccine, compared to about 80%
in countries like Kuwait. This study assesses the level of acceptance and prejudices towards the
Covid-19 vaccine equity in Malaysia by examining surveys via Google Forms and questionnaires
given out to teenagers, adolescents, and elders. On top of that, an interview was done with a healthcare
worker to obtain a professional opinion regarding the issue. The surveys provide questions about
vaccine equity to the targeted group of study. It was determined that most of the prejudices are formed
due to issues such as limited vaccine supplies and vaccine hesitancy. Subsequently, this research has
shown an outcome that vaccination should be presented as a social norm where it is accepted by all
populations. Hence, the research objectives are intended to investigate the level of acceptance and
prejudices of Malaysians towards vaccines and to determine effective ways to minimize the prejudices
among the community. Thus, there are ways that various parties can do to help in achieving this.
Health workers are trusted to promote their voices to amplify accurate pieces of information on
vaccines to the public. The public is responsible to accept and understand the importance of vaccine
equity.

ABSTRACT

The pandemic had major effects on the economy of the world. Various industries had to evolve to cater to the
new norm which had been created by the limitations of the pandemic. Certain industries had to reduce its
capacities to maintain employees and even some had grown obsolete. Sports as an industry is not excluded from
receiving the impact of the pandemic. The aim of this study is to determine the impact of the covid-19 crisis
towards the sustainability of careers in sports and the emergence of new careers in sports in the post-pandemic
world. To this end, we adopted a case study approach to reach our aim. Firstly, we organized a friendly match
with a professional futsal team, this is to experience and observe the working environment and culture of
physical sports and other careers which are attached to a sporting event. Secondly, we organized an e-sport
competition in our school to identify and manage all careers that supports an e-sporting events. Data is collected
through interviews and observation field notes. Findings suggest that careers in physical sports are still
sustainable and careers in e-sports are also sustainable, but not without its risks, because of the post-pandemic
new-normal lifestyle.

ABSTRACT

This study aims to explore the role of ghost kitchens in aiding the food and beverage (F&B)
companies before and after the pandemic and the measures taken to ensure the sustainability of the
ghost kitchen business model. It is a well-documented fact that the F&B industry had been severely
affected as many restaurants closed down when the Covid-19 pandemic hits the world.
Understandably, movement control orders (MCOs) mandated by the Malaysian government had been
the predominant cause of reduced customer traffic and disrupted supply chains. Consequently,
numerous F&B companies have bought into the ghost kitchens concept as their method to solve the
aforementioned issues and stay afloat before and after the pandemic. An interview with an industry
figure was conducted and a survey on customer satisfaction with eatery options was also carried out to
better understand the idea of ghost kitchens. Through the study, it is found that ghost kitchens allow
F&B businesses to experiment and improve their choice of menu and quality without serious financial
repercussions. Subsequently, the results from the survey show that there is an increasing trend of
patrons preferring to enjoy their food off-premise rather than dining in restaurants due to their hectic
lifestyle. Overall, the findings recommend that failing F&B businesses and food start-ups will benefit
tremendously by venturing into ghost kitchens. Implications of the ghost kitchen as the go-to model to
revolutionize the F&B industry for the future are also discussed.

ABSTRACT

Technology was once deemed as the future of career revolutionary yet so much was still unravelled to
consider its success as a breakthrough in enhancing professionalism, until the looming of the
pandemic. Career sustainability was an overlooked aspect by hoi polloi; the pandemic had surely
brought this issue to light. Sudden uprisings of new career paths were due to the desperate needs of
financial fulfilment. Lay-off employees numbered, however paired with the amenities of technology,
they were invariably posited to be one of the most colossal driving components of the rapid upsurge of
present-day profession directions. The main aim of this study is to analyse whether the pandemic and
the utility of digital networking was the mainspring of this unforeseen escalation. Via questionnaires
as the methodology, inputs were accumulated and dissected to match up the goal of this study.
Predominantly, this research has yet determined that the pandemic was the root why technology was
brought forth in careers and jobs.

ABSTRACT

On the verge of 2021, the global Covid-19 pandemic that severely impacted the world reached an
equilibrium when scientists discovered several alternative methods to fight the virus by developing
vaccines and imploring society to adhere to various guidelines to assuage the spread and adverse
effects of the virus. Despite the efforts, the virus has exerted undesirable outcomes on several aspects
such as the education system of youngsters. As we know, the constraint due to the strict guidelines
have pushed the government to establish online classes which is a newly unaccustomed method of
education in a country such as Malaysia. With regard to this, numerous glitches surfaced in the
process of familiarizing the new norm and have severely disrupted students’ education even after the
pandemic ended. In this investigation, we dive into the many lasting adverse effects of the pandemic
on the younger generation which include academic and mental health issues. The shift from pandemic
to endemic has caused hindrances in which youngsters are forced to re-familiarize themselves with
face-to-face classes after two years of online education. This research is conducted to acknowledge the
struggles faced by students in the interphase from pandemic to endemic and to find methods to curb
the obstacles disclosed. With the information gathered through online research, we deduced that
significant adverse effects of the covid-19 pandemic have persisted throughout the endemic initiation.
Through this investigation, we will suggest solutions to mitigate the adverse effects and if possible, to
work towards achieving normalcy as before the pandemic.

ABSTRACT

Endemic phase is where we are at now after more than two years of painstaking efforts to fight the
Covid-19 pandemic. Many people are unaware about the impending issues stepping into the endemic
phase such as financial problems and the lack of medical services throughout the country. With these
issues getting more visible, the government undertook some initiatives to solve these problems, being
in the form of financial assistance schemes to assist most of the public and those involved in Small
Medium Sized Enterprises (SME) such as ‘Bantuan Keluarga Malaysia (BKM)’ and ‘BSN Micro
Semarak’. The downsides of these schemes are the lack of transparency in terms of eligibility and the
one off payment, that is not enough to resolve the financial problems completely. A more feasible
framework should be planned and implemented to address the issues of qualifications and financial
distributions. Apart from that, the current medical services are also lacking in terms of efficiency and
coverage. Public-private partnerships (PPPs) have been rolled out with the current state of expanding
their services to maximize all the healthcare capacities in Malaysia. Although the country is in the
endemic phase, the needs to address the efficacy issues in laying out the financial and medical
assistances are not to be taken too lightly.

ABSTRACT

The deadly COVID-19 pandemic that struck our country has caused a big impact towards the citizens.
The government has executed numerous efforts to stop the spread of the life-threatening virus such as
introducing the Movement Control Order (MCO). As a result, various economy sectors had to close
their businesses causing many layoffs and job-losses. The abrupt increment of unemployment rate in
Malaysia can be seen from January 2020 to May 2020, from 3.2% to 5.3%, which means 826,000
persons were unemployed. The high unemployment rate has a profound effect on the poverty in our
country. Apart from the vertical solutions made by the government to community, individuals and
Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) also play an important role to lessen the poverty in Malaysia,
one of them is Social Enterprise (SE). The SE situated in Kuantan, Pahang, were the samples of our
study and the unit of analysis is firm. The objective of this research is to investigate the endeavours of
the SE to overcome this predicament which will lead to no poverty. We used qualitative method for
our research and for the data collection methods to obtain primary and secondary data, variety of
sources such as interviews and library research had been done. Results from the data collected
showed that SE highly contributes to overcome the unemployment issue thus stops poverty by
offering jobs to the job-losses and underprivileged community. The research also found that SE
initiative is one of the horizontal solutions, from community to community to rebuild the prosperous
society within business environment.

ABSTRACT

The global coronavirus pandemic, which has already caused unimaginable devastation and hardship,
has brought our way of life to an almost complete halt. The COVID-19 pandemic has turned the world
of work upside down. It is having a dramatic effect on the jobs, livelihoods and well-being of workers
and their families and on enterprises across the globe, particularly the small and medium sized. The
COVID-19 health crisis has turned into a global economic crisis, putting at risk the health, jobs and
incomes of millions of people around the world. As the coronavirus spread around the world and
workplaces closed, millions of workers lost part or all of their incomes. It has radically changed the
way people live and work. While most studies have focused on prevailing negative consequences,
potential positive shifts in everyday life have received less attention. Thus, we examined the actual
and perceived overall impact of the COVID-19 crisis on work and private life. The outbreak will have
profound and lasting economic and social consequences in every corner of the globe. Research of
peer reviewed journals, articles, books, surveys, QA questions, interviews and web pages were used to
review the literature on reshaping the future: post-pandemic sustainability. The result showed that the
impact of pandemic is significantly different for employees from different industries, having different
designation and different type of employment.

ABSTRACT

Pandemic is a state where a disease is widespread over a whole country or the world: and the world
was in pandemic for more than 2 years due to COronaVIrus Disease 2019 (COVID -19). Endemic is a
situation when the disease condition is normalised or found regular in the area and this is what the
condition the whole world is facing now. Our research is focusing on Malaysia. Malaysian
government has done its best in this endemic situation to all sectors including the economy sector. The
main economy sector we are highlighting is the tourism sector rising from its rubble due to the
pandemic, in this endemic - focusing on the place to stay and the transportation of tourists. The
research main objective is to see whether the new rules and standard operating procedures (SOP) set
by the Malaysian government for hotels and airlines, and the hotels and airlines’ actions during
endemic have recovered and improved the economic sector. Our way of gaining information for our
research is by reading and going through articles and news from newspapers and television - where
most updates on economy can be found and heard. We also did a brief set of questionnaire on tourism
- going places in this endemic : focusing on the transportation and the place to stay. Our research
outcomes and findings show the hotels and airlines’ acts in rising to recover the economic downfall
during the more than 2-year pandemic. Malaysia economic recovery due to its sector shutdown during
pandemic is now in slowly rising from the damage in this endemic situation.

ABSTRACT

The economic and social disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic is devastating; 711.0 thousand of
unemployed people can be observed in Malaysia in 2020. Following the administration and help from the
National Economic Recovery Plan (PENJANA) for the first time since mid-2020, individuals who were
laid off and unemployed could start their own small businesses. Resulting in continued downward trend
of unemployment rate, recording 3.7% in July 2022 - the lowest since Covid-19 pandemic hit our nation.
Notwithstanding this positive and stable development, the projected jobless rate is still higher than the
pre-pandemic level of 3.3 % as the main goal. This case study’s main objective is to give an overview on
the perception of people towards the initiatives introduced and implemented by the government of
Malaysia through PENJANA in curbing unemployment post pandemic. To achieve our aims, our
research was administered by interviewing 10 small business owners to obtain a more detailed
information regarding the outcomes of PENJANA towards small businesses followed by certifying useful
information concerning the advances of job opportunities offered to the unemployed through PENJANA,
questionnaires were handed out to 15 respondents. From the research that had been done, we became
aware that PENJANA imposed by the government provides job security and job opportunities for the
unemployed. Ultimately, Malaysia’s economy was able to be revived due to the descending of
unemployment rate through the help of the administration of National Economic Recovery Plan
(PENJANA), concurrently attaining a secured and solid economical state in the country.

ABSTRACT

Covid-19 outbreak has devastating impacts on economies, education, health care and social activities.
Various non-pharmaceutical interventions, such as borders restrictions, socialdistancing, educational
institution closures and cancellation of collective events have been implemented by many countries
around the world. These measures have been seemed to be inadequate to reduce the spread of the
epidemic and flatten the curve of the outbreak. Vaccines for Covid-19 are much needed to achieve
herd immunity and to reopen the world. However, there will always be the risk of new outbreaks if
vaccines are not widely available. Hence, the objective of this study is to investigate the threats to
global vaccine equity. This research is carried out based on library research and data collection from
secondary resources in order to come out with a reliable result. The outcome shows that there are three
largest threats to vaccine equity. To begin with, universal manufacturing of vaccines is inadequate to
protect a global population. As a result, vaccines have not been distributed equally over the world.
Unfair access to vaccines is also caused by the increasing number of vaccine applicants from global
pharmaceutical companies, governmental organisations, international institutions, and universities.
Another threat to be thought about is the financial resources of the countries where some of them
cannot afford higher doses of vaccines for their entire communities owing to a shortage of funds.
Therefore, future studies focusing on overcoming the threats is proposed as global vaccine equity is
the key for a full recovery.

ABSTRACT

Malaysia entered the Transition to Endemic Phase on April 1st, 2022, as a consequence of the
COVID-19 immunisation campaign and other public health preventive and control measures being
successful in halting the disease's spread across the country. There are still gaps in the government's
ability to ensure community welfare and manage social challenges, despite claims that it has made
progress. The main objective of this study is to elaborate the government's accomplishments as well as
the unresolved concerns with societal issues that the nation has encountered. The study also intends to
show that although government’s initiatives were complimentary, they required coordination with
community well-being in order to be more effective throughout the endemic phase. In this
documentation study, the data is based on a content analysis through government documents already
published and major newspapers and television news. The initiatives like Penjana stimulus package,
which aims to coordinate aid for specific target groups under the Movement Control Order, has been
successfully executed. The government is also alleged to have distributed billions of ringgit to all
levels as part of fiscal stimulus packages, which contributed to the welfare of the nation. Reports on
the issue of domestic violence and students’ dropouts, however, revealed that the government was not
taking sufficient action. It is hoped that more empirical research to be conducted to investigate
whether the given initiatives are sufficient to improve the community well-being and combat the
social issues in this transitioning era of endemic.

ABSTRACT

Following the effectiveness of public health preventive and control measures, Malaysia has opted for
Transition to Endemic Phase as an exit strategy for economic recovery. As the rest of the world,
Malaysia was also affected by the spread of COVID-19 particularly in its economic activities. The
poor and the vulnerable groups have a slower and uneven recovery which led to financial distress and
challenges. Thus, this study aims to explore the implications of MCO on the poor and vulnerable
groups, types of popular jobs during and after pandemic and the government’s and NGO’s counter
measures to aid these highly affected groups. Content analysis and interview with affected family are
done to uncover these matters. The analysis will then add to the existing knowledge on the dire effects
of COVID-19 to a whole nation’s progress and development.

ABSTRACT

COVID 19 pandemic had a significant impact around the globe from every single aspect. Our research
are focused on the consequences it brought to the education sector, predominantly in South East Asia.
The Government announced the Movement Control Order (MCO) as the first step on the attempt to
prevent the spread of the virus, which has revolted education system and practices across the country
as it converted from conventional setting which was physical face-to-face teaching and learning
method to distance education known as synchronous e-learning via application like wise google meet.
Due to this new learning method, many youth have trouble adjusting to this new learning style caused
by numerous difficulties, such as, mental health issues that have gotten worse since lockdown started.
Thus, it Inevitably lead to the downfall of our generation. Therefore, our team made the effort to
identify and find the most efficient way to resolve these issues : an online survey was held ,
interviewing peers, and self experience was the key to our further research. From the methodologies
aforementioned, we had managed to gather handsome results, all in which to the point to that of
lockdown had drastically altered student's lives across the globe especially to our dear country.

ABSTRACT

Providing and providence in the endemic era could be defined as the ability to provide and give the
same opportunities to the people as we transition from pandemic status to endemic status to
accommodate to the changes that have happened during the pandemic era. The government is 100%
responsible for these opportunities and chances. It includes the well-being of the people, the economy
of a certain country itself, the environmental state of the country, and all the basic functions that will
ensure sustainability of the cities and communities in a country. The government has done enough to
ensure that our society will thrive even in this endemic era and the government has also implemented
measures to make sure our cities and communities are at a level that is sustainable for the next
generation. The objective of this research is to prove that the government has provided enough to
sustain the cities and communities in the current endemic era. Our research focuses on two main
topics. First, the government has given free vaccinations to the people. Covid-19 vaccines and booster
doses have been provided to the people for free by the government for all age groups even though the
government needed to spend so much money to acquire those vaccines. Second, the unemployment
rate has been steadily declining. The government has played a huge part in this with the reopening of
economic sectors, giving out opportunities to the people to integrate back into society.

ABSTRACT

COVID-19 proved to be a pandemic that changed the norms of almost every nation across the globe.
2022 marked the beginning of the endemic era, and Malaysia followed suit. Pioneering the effort to
help citizen adapt to living in an endemic, the Malaysian government reached out to help its people in
various sectors. Among the affected element is the relationship health within communities.
Specifically, schools across Malaysia shows the rise of groups isolating themselves from one another
post the pandemic. The objective of our research is to find out whether or not has the government
done enough to encourage students to participate more activities after a long break. The methodology
of our research consists of three layers. We conducted literature reviews from the internet. To verify
our literature reviews, we conducted a quantitative research within the immediate community. During
the research, we find out that students living in a community have changed their approach and
preference of connecting with each other after the pandemic. Our group discovered that the Ministry
of Education organized more group activities to restore student’s confidence levels to bridge and
connect with one another during the endemic era. As proposed, our group found several aspects that
the government can focus in order to further mend this growing problem.

ABSTRACT

The emergence of a disease known as the Corona Novel Virus 2019 (Covid 19) has taken the lives of
millions and forced the population worldwide to take refuge in the comfort of their homes in order to
minimise the rate of infection. Though mere prevention is not enough, World Health Organisation
(WHO) has made an initiative by manufacturing and producing vaccines which has been provided for
the citizens by their respective countries. Even though vaccination poses as a solution, it sparked
major controversies in the public eyes. Vaccination isn’t compatible with just anyone and would even
cause side effects to a certain few. Moreover, vaccination isn’t exactly free and is needed to be
purchased which caused an issue to arise regarding the accessibility of said vaccination where it would
grant pharmaceutical companies massive profits. To add up, booster is compulsory if one wishes to
travel abroad. As of importance, the representation of data regarding the global acceptance of vaccine
is still lacking. Therefore, further research is needed. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the
global acceptance of vaccination and any prejudices associated to it. Hence, a thorough literature
review was made and the findings of latest research regarding this matter was summarised in this
paper. Hypothetically, the majority accepts vaccination, however there are prejudices especially
towards underdeveloped countries such as Zimbabwe and the majority of the countries in the African
continent.

minimised, the public had no choice but to opt for online platforms to perform various daily tasks.
Since shopping activity could also expose people to fatality through viral infection, e-commerce offers
some safety assurance and conveniences. Consequently, these perks have revolutionised
cybershopping and it is now a norm to almost every consumer worldwide. Nonetheless, despite the
merits that e-commerce could offer, online frauds and exploitations are still on the rise. On top of that,
users also claimed that the quality and authenticity of products advertised by sellers are sometimes
questionable, making them sceptical and doubtful when performing online transactions. This has
widely tainted the public image of the e-commerce industry and the customers’ expectation towards
the purchased items. In order for us to delve into this issue, we distributed a survey form and
interviewed several e-commerce workers for reliable data to propel us towards the solutions.
Subsequently, their responses urged us to take a new turn in improving our e-commerce industry,
recommending the government organisations to implement stricter rules for online sellers, such as
making permits compulsory, having their products certified and displaying the certification on their
pages. In return, this does not only fulfil customers’ satisfaction but also guarantee the quality and
authenticity of products. Thus, this paper aims to sustain the e-commerce industry by establishing
product credibility.

ABSTRACT

When the COVID-19 hit the world, the global citizens were shaken to its core and the year 2019 is the
starting point to what is now known as the toughest period of the 21st century. Researchers from
around the globe unite under one mission, which is to solve the crisis, and with that, vaccines from
various manufacturers were made. However, it isn’t a surprise if there is some hesitancy among the
citizens about whether to take the vaccine or not. Thus, the aim of this study is to collect data on the
acceptance rate among the global citizens and the effect of the vaccine towards different layers of
citizens, varying from babies to the elderly during this endemic phase. The reason for vaccine intake
varies as the job scope requirement. We believe our method of collecting data that includes both
quantitative and qualitative is one of the most effective ways to collect the most relevant and up-to-
date data. As we know, our target is to achieve the highest herd immunity and to fight against different
variations of COVID-19. Hence, our research is aimed to change the people’s perception towards
national vaccination program in order to ensure our life be back to normal.

ABSTRACT

When Covid struck, it caused nearly everything to come to a standstill, before the world began to
sluggishly pick up the pace again. Even the education sector had come to a complete halt while
impromptu adjustments were worked on to allow studying to resume, worldwide. Numerous digital
tools, applications and programmes were devised to scaffold home-based learning in the world’s
fragile attempt to imitate classroom lessons. Unfortunately, despite Kelantanese teachers’ undying
effort and fancy virtual lessons they had planned, ensuring students’ participation was arduous given
limited unstable Internet access, or even deteriorating self-motivation to commit to online classes. Of
course, this had led to students literally losing a whole year of academic input and poor academic
performance when schools reopened last March. Hence, this study aimed to unveil the success of
secondary school teachers in Pasir Puteh in implementing collaborative learning in order to revive
students’ interests in academia, as well as boost academic performance. In order to harvest first hand
responses and feedback, district-wide questionnaires and interviews were carried out among 300
students and 280 teachers in Pasir Puteh. Research output was then analysed via Snowball sampling
method while quantitative data was analysed using SPSS 20. The one-way Anova test result showed
value F(3367)=2.78 with value of p=.04 for implementation of collaborative learning activities is
significant. This mixed-method research indicates that collaborative learning conducted during PdPR
and academic-enrichment programmes has positively influenced students’ learning behaviour and
achievement in the first six months since schooling resumed.

ABSTRACT

Education is one of important social branches in ensuring betterment of our country citizens in line
with National Education Philosophy. COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted the whole education system.
Traditional classes are replaced with online classes that has impacted the mastery level and academic
achievement of students because of various aspects such as lack of internet access, and learning
materials. The objective of this research is to analyze academic achievement before and after the
pandemic lockdown. In traditional classes, teachers focus on students using the “one-to-one” method,
whereas, in online classes, teachers need to coordinate their materials without considering students’
mastery levels. This research observes and compares mastery levels and interviews of teachers are
conducted to validate the results. It is found that students’ academic achievement in traditional classes
is influenced by the learning method of teachers while in online classes, academic achievement is
influenced by good Internet access and source of learning materials. Hence, based on the finding we
are convinced that the pandemic has affected and changed the norm of learning in classes and in turn,
impacted students’ academic achievement.

ABSTRACT

“Pandemic” refers to an outbreak of diseases that occurs over a wide geographic area and typically
affects a significant proportion of the population. “Endemic” (of a disease) persisting in a population
or region, generally having settled to a relatively constant rate of occurrence. In this paper, we are
talking about both the pandemic situation in Covid-19 in 2021 and the pre-endemic that is situated
post-covid-19 in 2022. This paper is premised on the proposition that in the globalised world
conceptual. The objective of this paper is to investigate how the economy of our country, Malaysia,
including other countries that faced the Covid-19 pandemic recovered when the post-Covid-19
endemic entered the frame. In this paper, we explore the implication of the pandemic, on one’s
economy. In this research, we also observe the impact of the tragedy with the method of interviewing
all the folks that have been trying to survive the economic crisis that happened to them during a
pandemic and how they recovered when the pre-endemic happened. We discussed how people
actually live through when economic crises such as financial problems and how the gross domestic
product of one’s country falls. We also discussed how businesses and shops actually handled the
pandemic when it happened, and how do they keep their businesses alive when the economy went
down during the pandemic. This is achieved by shops creating their own online shops and learning the
ways of digital marketing, but with the stipulation of the SOP, and how the government gave out
financial aid for the shops to not be shut down. Besides, the increase in cases and public awareness of
the threat posed by the virus has exacerbated panic buying of surgical masks and hand sanitisers. This
caused many workers and potential shoppers to sequester themselves in the early days of the Covid-19
pandemic, which had a momentous impact on the global economy. Besides that, social awareness
among the people helps everyone to face the virus outbreak by following the rules and regulations set
by the government. For the nation, this will develop a more controlled environment which provides
better surroundings for people to maintain the stability of the economy. All of these attainments
contribute to achieving a sustained economy for the nation.

ABSTRACT

After the worst year in tourism history, international tourist arrivals increased by just 5% in the year
2021, as travel restrictions remained in place for protracted periods in many parts of the world.
International tourist arrivals once again fell more than 1 billion short of pre-pandemic levels, keeping
the industry at levels last seen in the 1980s. Tourism continues to be one of the hardest hit by the
Covid-19 pandemic and the outlook remains highly uncertain. Millions of enterprises going bankrupt
and workers losing their jobs or given a pay cut as a result. Our research objectives are to understand
the post-pandemic situation, to show the ongoing impacts of the pandemic and to uncover the
survival strategies in tourism sectors. We gather the data for our research by conducting interviews,
Internet research and surveys. Throughout our research, we discovered that the government showed
confidence and trust by providing financial compensations, improving sanitary conditions and travel
restrictions. In businesses, the government was dedicated to restoring and mitigating the outcomes of
covid-19 in the tourism sector by providing various steps like financial support and promotion
activities. With the power of technology and social media, the tourism sector is able to connect with
the global audience and exert influence. The result of our research demonstrated that in this post-
pandemic phase, the tourism industry will soon be booming once again and will continue to grow as
demand for it increases. The key is to know when to adapt and pivot according to the times.

ABSTRACT

COVID-19 has impacted people from all walks of life and has caused a lot of people to lose their
careers. Millions of people around the world have been unemployed since the emergence of this
microscopic hazardous virus. While some people can continue their careers at home, some,
unfortunately, cannot. Thus, these unfortunate people had to find a new sustainable career. In the
STEM sector, new sustainable careers have emerged due to the pandemic, where people cannot go
out and must stay at home for a long period of time in order to break the chain of Covid-19. A
sustainable career has been indicated as a matter that endures over time and that is characterized by
development, conservation, and renewal of the working individual’s career-related resources. Hence,
this study is to find out new careers that have emerged and whether they are sustainable in this post-
pandemic era. Lastly, it is also to find out whether the new sustainable career paths can replace the
current generation's ambition. In order to achieve our objectives, a mixed method study has been
conducted which includes high school students and high graduate students throughout Sabah.
Preliminary findings show that most students do not even know about the emergence of these new
careers. With this study, we hope that our research on a new career and its sustainability can help
unfortunate people to find a new career which in turn helps the rise of the nation’s economy.

ABSTRACT

COVID-19 puts the world economy in its most precarious position. It also had knocked down
people's livelihoods resulting from the significant economic disruption from factory closures and a
sharp decline in many service sector activities. Labuan’s economy suffered a sharp setback due to
lack of business opportunity, supply disruptions and a collapse in demand. This research aims to
unveil how business owners deal with recent challenges and to unfold ways in improving their means
of living. Data were collected from journals, articles and interviews. While a variety of approaches
might be attempted, our study reveals that online platforms play a crucial role in mitigating the
negative effects of future shocks causing severe disruptions to physical economic activity. From this
economic setback, business owners have changed the way they promote their goods and services.
They switched to online sales on media platforms to boost their income and replace the damages that
they faced. This helps increase the capacity of consumers and leads to more profit. Thus, the
innovation of online programs should be emphasized to increase the efficiency of solving financial
trouble especially after an outbreak.

ABSTRACT

COVID-19 pandemic has taken a substantial toll on students’ academic progress for the past 2 years,
where they had to go through virtual learning due to school closure. Knowing the students’
difficulties during online classes, this research aims to dissemble the issues and challenges of the
Outbreak in SM Sains Kuching and how the school management and academic staffs help to ensure
the consistency in the student’s academic performance throughout the pandemic. The school is aware
of the ‘Absence of online learning facilities’, ‘Conducive learning environment’, and ‘Lost of direct
interactions’ which are the vital problems faced in the implementation of teaching and learning
during the pandemic. Thus, to not let any students left behind, the school management had taken
three major actions by organizing “Ziarah Cakna”, an onsite visitation to the student’s place, printed
modules delivery via postage or drive-thru and Gadgets Lending to help them overcome virtual
learning issues/difficulties. The data presented were acquired from handing out questionnaires,
interviewing affected students alongside their parents and interviewing the President of SainsKu
Parents and Teachers Association (PTA). In conclusion, the measures taken by the school
management and academic staff provide equality of education amongst the students, be it near or far
so that none will be left behind in their studies.

ABSTRACT

To eradicate the COVID -19 pandemic, every part of the world needs to be immune to the virus and
the most effective way is through vaccination. To achieve global immunity, making the vaccines
available to people around the world has been a challenge within many nations. The objective of this
research is to discuss the unequal vaccination distribution across the globe. Our library research has
looked into databases and literature reviews from recent research such as WHO, The New England
Journal of Medicine and MOH-CovidNow databases on the inequality of Covid-19 vaccination
distribution and the factors impacting it. It is found that the global shortage, which is the main cause
of vaccine inequity, is due to high demand and low supplies supported by the absence of limitation
towards the purchases of vaccines. Subsequently, global distribution of vaccines has delayed
stemming from the lack of transparency in vaccine contracts and weak leadership engagement and
commitment. A few solutions have been identified to solve these problems; among them are
strengthening the healthcare system, including speeding up international efforts such as COVAX in
incentivizing vaccination levels in particular nations. In order to achieve vaccine equity, society has
to work together to reach a stable status quo by working together to attain global unity by appointing
suitable global leaders that promotes an ethical solution in solving global crises.

ABSTRACT

The COVID-19 pandemic had and continues to impact students’ lives negatively. This global crisis
caused an abrupt change in formal schooling and alarmingly halted Philippine education for two years,
ultimately leading to difficulty in proper transition of learning. This qualitative study aimed to
discover and understand students’ challenges and self-pacing strategies in the transition of learning
(modular to face-to-face learning). Data collection was conducted where themes and commonalities
were analyzed from students’ responses from in-depth individual interview and focus group
discussion. The data gathering was accomplished with the help of a discussion-interview guide
consisting of ten open-ended questions. In this narrative case study, ten senior high school students
were purposely selected for the interview and discussion, which was recorded, transcribed verbatim,
and analyzed for thematic contents using thematic analysis. The results yielded four core themes for
the challenges encountered: Lack of knowledge, Unexpected Transition of Learning, Poor Time
Management, and Academic Pressure. While self-pacing coping strategies emerged the following
themes under (1) time management: being responsible and setting schedules, (2) goal setting: mental
preparation, planning, taking action, and reward system, and (3) student techniques: setting realistic
goals, giving reminders, and being focused. Furthermore, commendations were drawn out to improve
student self-pacing as they make up for the lost time of education, such as: maintaining focus, strict
self-management, technology utilization, getting assistance, enhanced learning environment, and
employing engaging activities by teachers. Therefore, the findings of the study serve as a challenge for
students to continue self-pacing to cope with unprecedented times.
