What’s your take on the “Western and Equestrian Style” trend taking the world by storm?Honestly, it’s amazing to watch. I’ve been designing equestrian jewelry long before it became a global trend, so there’s definitely that moment of, “Oh, now you want to take notice?” but all in good fun. It’s exciting to see the world embrace a lifestyle and aesthetic I’ve been creating around for decades. The rise of Western and equestrian style feels like a natural evolution, and it’s been incredible to watch people connect with the authenticity and heritage behind it.Has this trend helped build new business relationships or partnerships?Absolutely. This movement opened doors to collaborations I may not have envisioned before from Western fashion houses to lifestyle brands to high-profile equestrians and even celebrities who have recently fallen in love with the aesthetic. Jill Tweedy, the designer behind the brand, has built the equestrian accessory brand based on her own passion for horses and riding. Jill started the brand as the result of wanting more options. As a rider, she felt there were not enough discipline specific designs out there, the community was lacking choices in accessories that spoke to riders. Creating and continuing to have specific disciplines across her bags has set Tucker Tweed apart from other equestrian style handbags out there. Her high-end luxury bags, wallets, clutches, and weekenders are prevalent across the community and continue to maintain their popularity. Naturally, as with any successful brand, the need to expand or in Jill’s case, the chance to slow down rears its head. When a new opportunity to join forces with a long time friend, also in the equestrian industry, came to light it seemed the obvious direction for Jill to take with Tucker Tweed. Enter Kristy Lake, the genius behind Dreamers & Schemers boot socks. Kristy recognized the brand equity behind her long time friend’s popular Tucker Tweed. For Kristy, taking on the company seemed the obvious course to take. Kristy acquired Tucker Tweed last February with Jill staying on as CEO. Kristy saw the acquisition as a wonderful chance to expand the existing popularity through some added designs and collaborations while Jill would stay on and remain focused on broadening the brand’s vendor base.

“Kristy has been a trusted friend and sounding board for all things equestrian for me for years. I could not be more grateful for the women in my life that have helped lead me to where Tucker Tweed is today,” said Jill.“I’m all about keeping with the tradition of the brand,” said Kristy. “My hopes are to widen its scope by adding new designs to the already established Heritage collections.
