Penerapan Model Visual Auditori Kinestetik Dalam Pembelajaran Membaca Peserta Didik Disleksia Di Sekolah Dasar
Dyslexia is a type of learning difficulty where a person has difficulty with inaccuracies (slow)
and needs a lot of effort to read a word, has difficulty understanding the meaning of something
read, has difficulty spelling, has difficulty writing, has difficulty understanding numbers or
counting numbers, difficulty with mathematical reasoning. , and his academic ability is far
below expectations for students his age. Reading for elementary school students is a basic skill
that is also the core of formal education. A student who does not have the ability to read will
have difficulty learning and mastering other knowledge, as a result, they will not develop both
in school and in life. Students who have learning difficulties with dyslexia require serious
treatment by the teacher, therefore, teachers need to provide assistance. The method that
dyslexic students really need to help overcome their difficulties is to function all types of
sensors, so an adequate and appropriate method is the multisensory method. The multisensory
method is an exercise that uses all the sensory features that students have to recognize and
learn something. This research aims to describe the successful experience of teachers applying
the multisensory method in dealing with students with dyslexia. The research method is an
explanatory case study. The research refers to a single instrumental case study or a single
instrumental case study. The research was conducted at SDN Cilubang 01 Kab. Bogor, Bogor
City, West Java. The research subjects were students with the initials "D", while the
participants were 3rd-grade teachers and student’s parents. The procedure for conducting this
research consisted of studying one individual, called acting data by collecting stories from the
student, teacher, and parents. Data processing is based on the results of interviews,
observations, and documentation made in chronological reporting of individual experiences,
researchers collect descriptions of events or events and then configure them into a story using
a storyline. The results of the study were obtained based on a diagnostic assessment, the subject
was dyslexic students. Efforts were made to help dyslexic students by applying Visual. Auditory,
Kinesthetic (VAK) uses letter cards, letter blocks, and letter puzzles. Media is used to activate
all multisensory properties owned by students. The conclusion is that the application of the
multisensory method can significantly increase motivation and improve the reading skills of
dyslexic students
