Teguh Ostenrik

After graduated in 1980 from the Fine Arts Department of Hochschule der
Kuenste,West Berlin or Germany, he stayed in NewYork/USA,Amsterdam/
The Netherlands and Cologne/Germany. In 1988,Teguh as an established
painter and sculptor came back to Indonesia. He has had more than one hundred solo and
group exhibitions in USA, France, The Netherlands, Germany, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia,
Thailand, The Philippines, Hong Kong, Japan, Indonesia (Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Solo,
Surabaya, Bali). His art works are collected by a lot of national and international institutions
and corporations. Awards received include Top Ten Philip Morris Art Award in 1997. He
was one of the Juries in 2005 and 2007 China ASEAN Youth Art Competition in Nanning/
China. In 2006 he was invited as a guest lecturer in Beijing Central Academy of Art. In 2007
he stayed in Penang or Malaysia as an Artist in Residence, a Program of ABN-AMRO and
Wawasan Open University.

Rusli was born in Medan, North
Sumatra, 1912. He studied at
the Kala Bhawana Santiniketan
University of Rabindranath
Tagore, India from 1932 to 1938,
and he taught in 1951 at Akademi
Seni Rupa Indonesia (ASRI) in
Yogyakarta. He joined Seniman
Muda Indonesia (IndonesianYoung
Artists) and helped established
the Seni Rupa Masyarakat (Art for
People Association). His works
were exhibited at the Biennale
exhibition II in Sao Paolo, Brazil
(1953) and held solo exhibition
at Palazzo Brancaccio, Rome,
Italy (1954 – 1956). He passed
away in Jakarta on 11 May 2005.

Rudy P ranadjaya

Rudy Pranadjaya was born in Cirebon, West Java, Indonesia, on 17th
November 1948. In 1964, at age 16, Rudy moved to Bandung and
studied art with Barli and Srihadi Soedarsono. Rudy was a modern
painter who still took his inspiration from traditional Indonesian art
forms. 1965 first exhibition in Surabaya, Java, Indonesia. At 1968 until 1971 went to Bali,
Indonesia, to paint and became completely immersed in traditional Balinese imagery
for his works. At 1971 – 1975 studied art at Studio Rangga Gempol Bandung, under
the guidance of the artist Barli Sasmitawinata he learned modern art techniques. Many
group and single exhibitions in Indonesia and abroad. 1981/1982 study tour in Europe :
Denmark, Switzerland, France, Germany. A member of “Kelompok Seniman Bandung”. Later,
he became more inspired by the forms of traditional ‘wayang kulit’ (leather puppets) that
were unique to his home town of Cirebon. Rudy passed away 2005 in Bandung, Indonesia

Tio Tjay

Tio Tjay was an Indonesian painter who for a long time has
resided in Brazil. At a very young age, young Tio Tjay enjoyed in
studying Chinese painting and calligraphy. His talent for art was
already sensed by people at youth. In 1967 he immigrated to the beautiful
South American country with his family. He held many exhibitions, from São
Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia and even Paraguay. In 1971 till 1975 he resided
in Manaus, where he befriends with many natives.
