Description

Unilit natural hydraulic lime mortars are very vapour permeable and allow
the background to breathe and stabilise. A comprehensive range of
products has been formulated to meet particular requirements, including
a range of traditional lime mortars plasters and renders, which are fully
compatible with the historic fabric and are noted for their high breathability
and compatible strength and flexibility. In addition, Unilit offers:
Insulation Solutions - Unilit 20 is an insulating plaster and render that
eradicates condensation and thermal shock on buildings of architectural
or historical importance. Unilit 20 is applied to give a balanced insulation
solution, which looks after the original fabric and character of the building,
while improving thermal performance and avoiding condensation issues.
Breathable Waterproofing - Unilit 30 breathable waterproofing and
stabilising plaster and render is suitable for damp and salts control
applications such as in cellars and against rising damp. The unique
performance of Unilit 30 gives a solution which is impermeable to water
liquid and salts in solution while maintaining the high vapour permeability
(breathability) of lime. This allows the background to dry out and stabilise
while controlling the movement of water liquid and salts in solution and
protecting the decorative finish.
Mortars - Building, masonry and pointing mortars are supplied premixed
with the optimum grade of aggregates to give a guaranteed performance.
The range includes fine, medium and coarse mortars to suit all masonry
applications from conservation to new build in brick and stone. The range
also includes Natural hydraulic lime hydrate for blending with local sands.
Unilit grouts and mortars are suitable for stabilisation and consolidation
works matching the physical and mechanical properties of the original
construction.

LIMETICS - Insulated Render

In new construction, the demand for a rendered insulated cladding system
that is sustainable of source and made from recycled materials has led
to the development of the Limetics system using Foamglas® a 66%
recycled cellular glass and our hydraulic lime mortars. Inert, waterproof,
non-combustible and highly resistant to impact, the system is particularly
suited for schools and public buildings and ecological buildings. Limetics
Multipor gives a fully breathable solution which again utilises the
performance of Unilit render and adhesives to give an inert, breathable,
non-combustible, fully weatherproof system.

Calderdale Edge -
Re-engineered Concrete Roof Technology

Technology is not just smart phones and microchips. Sometimes it is
taking a product you know and re-engineering it to be quicker, stronger
and better value.

This is exactly what we have done with the Calderdale Edge.

It uses much less material (5kg lighter over a m²), making it much
stronger. A thinner interlocking design and a more well-defined nib make
for easier handling and quicker laying to help keep projects on schedule.

Also, a larger format aesthetic allows for fewer tiles meaning fewer costs.

Choose between the classic Calderdale Edge or go with the Dual
Calderdale Edge for an added multi-tiled aesthetic.

Monkey Grip Clips -
For Speedier, Safer & Stronger Installation

Our new innovative clips are super simple, super strong and super quick
to use. The unique design was engineered in-house by the Wienerberger
Roof Technical Department to fit perfectly with the new Calderdale Edge
roof tiles and our TLE roof tiles.

The unique design has an integrated nail making it quicker and easier to
use, whilst being 30% stronger than the previous metal clip. The new
clips stay fixed before hammering and hold the nail in, making it much
safer for roofers and easier for them to grab the next nail.

These clips do not buckle under pressure either: they are strong enough
to hold 45 bags of sugar.

And you will be pleased to know that they can also be colour-matched
to any tile.

These new clips have been designed according to British Standards,
which ensure that tiles now have to be mechanically fixed with a nail or
clip to each tile.

So, get a step ahead with Monkey Grip Clips!

4 - Climate Control

FläktGroup

The DENCO brand stands for a long and proud history of providing
customers with an assurance: the assurance of a closely controlled
climate. Today as a FläktGroup flagship brand, we have learnt our
customer’s requirements, desires and ambitions; we have developed our
knowledge and experience to enable them to succeed and to minimise
impact to the climate through constant innovation in the DENCO range.

Multi-DENCO

Multi-DENCO is the most flexible product from the DENCO range. Whilst
predominantly designed to address the needs of IT cooling, it can be used
in transformer rooms, switch rooms, lift motor rooms, AV rooms, telecom
rooms, laboratories, libraries and even archives and museums. Its key is
its superior ability to control both the temperature and humidity enabling
you to have confidence that your operations are in the ideal climate.
Multi-DENCO units can provide up to 150 kW of cooling within 7 different
casing sizes, which can be in upflow or downflow air configuration. All
units are less than 2m high with footprints ranging from 60x60cm to
88x338cm. All units are available with a variety of ancillaries custom made
for each unique application. This innovative solution is available in chilled
water, direct expansion and hybrid-free cooling variants.
Each cooling variant provides energy efficient, precision climate control
using EC fans, inverter driven compressors or a choice of chilled water
control valves. Full BMS integration is achieved using the advanced
C5-12 microprocessor controller, which also includes functionality such
as running redundancy, sensor averaging and the ability to record up to
28 days of events and alarm history.
Multi-DENCO is also available with various options and features such as
water leak detection, automatic pressurised system (APS), pressure
independent control valves (PICV), energy monitoring, airflow monitoring
and power redundancy options. All the above allows Multi-DENCO to be
the climate control solution you need.

Ultra-DENCO

The unit has been designed to meet the performance and efficiency needs
of data centres. Designed for only a downflow air configuration and chilled
water cooling, the unit is ideally suited towards rooms which have a
500mm or greater floor void. Every aspect of the unit has been designed
for performance: the larger coil and larger filters means that there are
lower air pressure drops, the large EC fans mean that at partial speeds
there is a significant reduction in energy consumption and all the
components within the chilled water pipework have been selected and
designed to give the lowest pressure drop within the circuit.
The design allows for very high cooling capacity at standard water
temperatures, together with the possibility of greater efficiencies at higher
temperatures. The large coil helps to reduce air pressure drop. Its position
has been refined using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations
to ensure return air is carefully guided over the coil vanes to give even
distribution and maximum heat exchange.

Adia-DENCO

The adiabatic cooling system, which has been especially developed for
data centres, is based on the simple principle that evaporating water
removes heat from its surroundings. With the Adia-DENCO, cooling takes
place energy-efficiently in a large double-plate heat exchanger. The warm
outdoor air is first humidified, which cools it, and is then sent to the
recuperator. This dual recuperator then cools the entering warm return
air from the computer centre by hermetically sealed heat exchange. The
large surface enables highly efficient operation at all operating points,
with low pressure drop and hygienic safe operation at all times.
Because of its performance profile, the Adia-DENCO cooling system
satisfies the new environmental recommendations for computer centres,
which advise maximum supply-air temperatures of 27°C. The very low
number of annual hours with outside temperatures above 29°C (in
moderate climates) reduces the annual energy requirements for
compression refrigeration to an absolute minimum – or renders it entirely
unnecessary. Because of this extensive reduction of the compression
refrigeration required, operators of computer centres can save up to 70%
of required energy and therefore reduce their operating costs. The
extremely low annual operating costs of the Adia-DENCO cooling system
enable its amortisation after a short period which applies in all moderate
to cold climate regions of the world.

6-NaturalSmokeVentilation& RoofAccess

Bilco UK

The Company

The Bilco Company was established in America in 1926 and has for many
decades designed and supplied horizontal access products for construction
industries around the world. For over 25 years, the Company has managed
its European operation from offices in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk where full
technical help is available for the range of roof access hatches, natural
smoke vents, ladders and floor access doors. A wide range of stock
products are held in Bury and can be distributed for next day delivery.
Special sizes can be manufactured to suit individual site requirements.

Natural Smoke Ventilation

Natural smoke vents help remove smoke and gases from burning buildings,
primarily to provide clearer escape routes for people within the building.
They also aid firefighter’s visibility when entering the building to tackle the
fire and reduce the lateral spread of the fire; important to reduce the
damage to the building and its contents. Used widely in the stairwell,
corridor, smoke shaft and on roof areas of factories, warehouses, auditoria
and retail facilities.
As of 1st July 2013, the EU Construction Products Regulation No. 305/2011
came into force in the UK and it is now mandatory for smoke vents to be
CE marked and to be supplied with a Declaration of Conformity. Bilco
smoke vents have been fully tested and are CE marked making them fully
compliant with this new legislation.
The Bilco REM single leaf ventilator opens to the fire open position of 140
degrees within 60 seconds, meeting the requirements of Approved
Document B and BS EN 12101-2 to ensure rapid dispersal of smoke and
noxious fumes.
Double leaf vents for larger ventilation areas are manufactured to open to
90 degrees. In addition, the construction of the ventilator includes rigid
polyisocyanurate insulation to the cover and the curb to provide maximum
thermal efficiency and a closed cell EPDM gasket to ensure the air leakage
requirements of Building Regulations Part L are achieved. Their design
means that nearly all REM vents can be used for access onto the roof area
and can also be linked into the BMS for comfort ventilation.

Roof Access Hatches

Roof access hatches provide safe and convenient access to the roof areas
for routine maintenance and inspection as well as for servicing of HVAC
systems and other roof mounted equipment. They are ideally suited for
use in office buildings, flats, factories, warehouses, retail stores, shopping
complexes, hotels, manufacturing plants, hospitals, schools, auditoria and
sports facilities where roof access is a requirement.
The wide range of stock sizes will provide access solutions for ladder, ship
stair and full sized stairways, or for equipment access applications.
Standard sizes are available ex stock and are generally delivered to site
within 2-3 working days.
All Bilco roof hatches provide a high degree of thermal efficiency and are
supplied with 75mm of polyisocyanurate insulation and manufactured with
thermally broken construction. The unique counterbalancing spring
mechanism ensures that all hatches are easily operable by one person to
assist designers and employees in meeting the requirements of the Manual
Handling Regulations.

Fixed & Retractable Ladders

SSQ Natural Slate Natural Slate for Roofing & Architecture - 7

The SSQ Group is one of the world’s leading suppliers of slate and phyllite England – Riverstone Ultra
for use by the construction industry. Formed in 1983, it has built a England – Del Carmen Ultra
worldwide reputation for sourcing and marketing high quality, natural slate England – Domiz First
products for roofing and architectural use. England - Riverstone Architectural Stone
The company’s success can be directly attributed to its long-term
partnerships with some of the world’s premier slate quarries, partnerships
that ensure a consistent supply of premium-quality roofing slates on an
exclusive basis. In 2003, SSQ strengthened its portfolio by acquiring La
Florida Quarry in Argentina, a major source of phyllite.

Products

Forged by nature over millions of years, slate and phyllite have distinct
characteristics that make them exceptional natural building materials.
Phyllite is closely related to slate and could be considered ‘super-slate’
as it shares slate’s essential features, but surpasses its qualities being
generally stronger and more resilient.
Slate and phyllite have been used as a building material for thousands
of years, their properties making them ideal for roofing, cladding and
flooring. SSQ offers a range of different roofing slates in a wide selection
of sizes and grades. Its architectural stone products are available either
in off-the-shelf sizes or to meet a unique specification.
SSQ markets its slate-based roofing products under well-known brand
names of Del Carmen®, Matacouta®, Domiz® and Del Prado® roofing
slates and its phyllite-based products as Riverstone® roofing slates and
architectural stone.

Services

SSQ offers comprehensive support services including:

• Advice on all aspects of slate roofing

• Advice about low-pitch (up to 17.5º) & complex roof designs

• Advice on using slate in heritage & conservation areas

• An NBS & BIM specification service

• An installation method-statement against an individual roof-design

• Quantity take-off services direct from your drawings

• Onsite advice, support & supervision during construction

• Brochures, technical data sheets, samples, installation manuals available

• RIBA certified CPD seminars:
‘Why Specify Natural Slate & Phyllite for Roofing & Cladding?’
‘An Introduction to Natural Phyllite’

• 30, 50, 75 & 100 years’ guarantee backed products & the innovative rust
free guarantee

• Sustainable natural slate products complying with BREEAM & ICE

Quality

Quality is a cornerstone of SSQ’s marketing philosophy, its relationships
with the quarries that supply the products ensure high quality-control
standards are agreed and achieved.
All SSQ roofing slates carry the CE marking and have received a
W1-S1-T1 classification in the three key performance tests set by EN
12326. Most of our roofing slates also carry the widely recognised NF
classification for thickness-specific testing which ensures trace ability and
consistency in random testing. There are only a handful of slates in the
world which conform to this rigorous testing procedure.
A combination of appearance, availability and quality has led to several
of SSQ’s roofing slates being accepted for use as an alternative to
indigenous slates by the UK’s principal conservation agencies.

Sustainability & Environmental Impact

Although slate and phyllite are non-renewable resources, the amount
available is immeasurable and, providing they are quarried responsibly,
their use as a building material makes very little impact on either total
stocks or the environment.
The two most frequently used methods of comparing the environmental
impact of building materials – BREEAM and the Inventory of Carbon &
Energy (ICE) – show the use of roofing slate has very little impact on the
environment: BREEAM gives slate an ‘A’ rating and ICE’s more objective
results show it to be far less damaging than either clay or concrete tiles.

12 - Stainless Steel Connectors

Catnic

Introduction

Catnic’s latest product range is a comprehensive selection of high-quality
connectors for timber and masonry construction. The new range provides
a complete selection of straps, hangers, brackets, fixings and cramps to
satisfy the requirements of a broad range of construction types.

Material Specification & Design

Catnic metalwork products are manufactured in accordance with the
Construction Products Directive BS 5268, Eurocode 5, ETAG 015 and
European Standard BS EN 10346:2009 and G275 for the Specification
of Ancillary Components for Masonry.
The products detailed here are manufactured for the specific purposes
shown and should not be used with other connectors not approved by a
qualified designer. A qualified designer should only make modifications
to Catnic products or changes in installations. The performance of such
modified products or an altered installation is the sole responsibility of
the designer. Where necessary our products are CE marked.

Installation Guidance

Catnic provides general guidance on the precise selection and
recommended installation of our products. General instructions are
supplied in addition to the specific instructions and notes provided for
individual products. We recommend all should be considered prior to any
installation.
• Do not overload or exceed the product performance, which would

compromise the connection.

• Install all fasteners before loading the connection.

• Nail guns may be used to install connectors, provided the correct
number and type of nails are properly installed in the holes provided.
Guns with hole locators should be used. Pneumatic or power-assisted
fasteners may deflect and injure the operator or others. Follow the
manufacturer’s instruction and use appropriate safety equipment.

• When using stainless steel connectors, use stainless steel fasteners.
When using galvanised connectors, use fasteners that meet the zinc
coating specifications.

• Hangers into masonry walls must have the minimum specified height
of masonry above the hanger, with mortar fully cured, before load is
applied. Top fix masonry hangers will not carry the design load without
specified masonry above the top flange of the hanger. Masonry
supported connectors must be embedded into the correct strength
mortar as per British Standards.

• Do not overdrive nails. Overdriven nails reduce shear capacity;
protruding nails should always be clinched to avoid injury.

Application

Where structural applications are required, we advise that you consider
the type of connection and how critical it is.

Environment

Determining the type of environment where a fastener will be used and
selecting the most appropriate material and coating for the fastener in
accordance with exposure type.
• Dry interior: wall and ceiling cavities and raised floor applications in

enclosed buildings that have been designed to ensure that
condensation and other sources of moisture do not develop.
Prolonged exposure during construction should also be considered,
as this may constitute an exterior-wet or higher exposure.

• Dry exterior: Outdoors installation with minimal exposure to rainfall
regular moisture.

• Wet exterior: Outdoors installations with higher moisture and rainfall
exposure.

• Corrosive: Exposure to ocean salt air, de-icing salts, fire retardants,
large bodies of water (e.g. dock boards), fumes, fertilisers, soil, some
preservative-treated woods, industrial zones, acid rain, and other
corrosive elements.

Material & Finishes

Made in the UK to European standards, the versatility of Catnic’s latest
product enables architects to design a variety of contemporary
construction solutions that are lightweight and durable.

Colorcoat HPS200 Ultra® Pre-finished Steel

Colorcoat HPS200 Ultra® provides exceptional performance and corrosion
resistance for building envelope applications. It is backed up with even
more extreme testing and real-world global data to demonstrate the best
combination of excellent colour stability, gloss retention and outstanding
durability. Whatever your type of building, from warehouses to houses,
retail outlets to processing plants, Colorcoat HPS200 Ultra® demonstrates
proven performance and reliability.

Scintilla®

Unique to Colorcoat HPS200 Ultra®, the Scintilla® emboss has been
developed with a depth of only nominal 50 microns, which makes it less
likely to trap dirt than deeper leathergrain embosses, therefore making
the pre-finished steel easier to clean whilst being more robust. Unlike
leathergrain patterns, the emboss is subtle and does not detract from the
overall appearance of the building, looking smooth and creating a modern
building appearance from a distance.

British Board of Agrément Certificate

The long-term performance has been recognised within BBA certificate
91/2717 as “Colorcoat HPS200 Ultra® coating and metal treatment will
protect the steel substrate against corrosion for a period of more than 40
years in normal industrial, urban, suburban and rural environments.”
Colorcoat, Colorcoat HPS200 Ultra, Galvalloy and Scintilla are trademarks
of Tata Steel UK Limited.

Colour Excellence

the VEKA and Halo profiles now offer a cost-effective, ‘A’ rated top swing
frame with a wealth of innovative features and benefits.

Tilt & Turn Windows

Good looks and secure ventilation. Like Fully Reversible windows, Tilt &
Turn windows are often used where there is a high-rise element, or a
requirement for cleaning to be carried out from the inside of the building.

Imagine Vertical Slider

A modern take on a classic sliding sash window style. Available with an
array of features and colours, the Imagine Vertical slider can adapt from
heritage to contemporary styles and has been used in conservation areas.

FlushSash

Reminiscent of early 19th century timber windows, FlushSash from Halo
combines elegant Georgian style with the modern technical benefits of
PVC-U to offer smooth style and seamless performance.

Variations

The days of being limited to white and woodgrains are long gone. VEKA
offers a fantastic choice, with 29 high quality colour foils available.

Infinity

The VEKA Infinity System combines the highest levels of technology and
style that you would expect from a VEKA window system, coupled with an
environmental advantage, as Infinity profiles contain up to 80% recycled
content, dependent on window style.
Extruded to BS EN 12608 extrusion performance standards, Infinity
maintains UV stability, cold impact classification and heat reversion to
provide the performance of virgin profile, with the environmental benefits
of a recycled product – a must for many projects in the commercial
marketplace and brought to you by the first window systems company to
establish a PVC-U recycling plant.

VEKA Recycling

VEKA has always led the way in the environmentally responsible use of
PVC-U, and VEKA Recycling is a major part of this, with its ‘Closed Loop’
technology, which means old windows can be recycled to a level of purity
to be put straight back into new windows rather than lower-grade products.

16 - Secondary Glazing Systems Grade II Listed St Albans Museum & Gallery
Grade II Listed Royal College of General Practitioners (Offices)
Selectaglaze Grade II Listed Cosway Street (Sports Centre)

The Secondary Glazing Specialists

Founded in 1966, and Royal Warrant Holder since 2004, Selectaglaze
has a wealth of experience providing bespoke secondary glazing to
buildings of all styles. From Listed heritage buildings to new-build
hospitals, hotels to school classrooms, museums to private homes;
secondary glazing can be used to enhance their environment.

Warmer

‘Measuring carbon footprint’ and ‘becoming more sustainable’ are just two
of the phrases that are increasingly iterated by organisations, Government
and private individuals. There is also growing awareness that a high-
ranking Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) will ensure buildings meet
acceptable standards for letting and enhancing market value.
One way to cut down on heat loss and keep warmth within is to create a
second barrier to the elements from the inside and install secondary
glazing. Purpose designed frames with thermally efficient glass can
reduce heat loss by more than half and advanced seals will minimise
losses through air leakage, almost eliminating draughts.
Secondary glazing can achieve U-values of around 1.9. This not only
creates a more comfortable living or working environment, but also
reduces energy bills.

Quieter

High noise levels can be very disturbing, leading to problems with sleep,
concentration and well-being. Secondary glazing provides the most
effective way of cutting out unacceptable noise as the wide separation
between the inner and outer glass decouples the panes to markedly
reduce sound transmission.
Well-designed secondary glazing set 150mm apart from the outer window
will achieve 45dB reduction compared with about 34dB for standard
double-glazed units. As 10dB equates to a doubling of the sound level,
this represents a significant improvement.

Safer

Improved security provides peace of mind and simple secondary glazing
with locks and strengthened glass offers an unobtrusive second barrier
to entry, deterring the opportunist thief. However, many buildings will need
much higher levels of protection, both for people and for high value
artefacts or sensitive data. In these cases, secondary glazing with certified
levels of protection against determined intruders, bomb blast or even a
ballistic attack are available.

Heritage

Throughout the UK there is a wealth of buildings with architectural or
historic interest. Historic England cites over 375,000 registered Grade I
& II Listed in England alone. Many of these were built between the 16th
and 19th century with very different construction materials and standards
to those used today. Therefore, the buildings are generally cold, draughty,
noisy and un-secured.
Most of the UK’s heritage bodies accept that secondary glazing is a
reversible adaptation and, when sensitively designed, can provide real
benefits that ensure the building continues in use and is well looked after.

Tried & Tested

Selectaglaze secondary glazing is rigorously assessed and tested for
acoustics, thermal insulation, intruder protection, blast mitigation and
ballistics. The Company is accredited to Secured by Design and has a
range of ‘Police Preferred Specification’ products. Quality is extremely
important and the Company is certified to ISO 9001.
Every window is bespoke built at the St Albans factory to ensure best fit
and installations are completed rapidly with minimal disruption to the
buildings’ occupants.
Selectaglaze offers technical advice on projects as well as assistance in
selecting the right product for your specification.
Also, if you want to learn more about what secondary glazing can do for
your future projects, please contact us to arrange a RIBA approved CPD
seminar in “Understanding and Specifying Secondary Glazing”.

18 - Rainwater Systems High Recycled Material Content
70% CO2 Saving
Swish Building Products Wide Range of Colours & Styles

Rainwater Systems

Swish rainwater systems are ideal for those who wish to specify high quality
products that have a reduced carbon footprint based on a high content of
recycled material. This innovative rainwater system results in a sustainable
product without any compromise in strength, weather resistance or
functionality.
The combination of Swish roofline and rainwater products produces a
complete eaves protection system that requires no maintenance, is efficient
in the use of resources and can be recycled at the end of its service life.

Range

The rainwater system is for use as an eaves gutter in domestic and light
commercial applications and carries a 10-year guarantee. There are two
versions; the first is the standard range with a smooth gloss finish and a
grey appearance to the material on the inside of the gutter. Gutters are
offered in Round, Square, Ogee and Deep Flow profiles. Downpipes are
round or square in cross-section.
The second is a cast iron effect system which consists of Half Round, Ogee
and Deep gutter profiles and mouldings in black, with round and square
downpipe systems to match. The cast effect is achieved by applying a
sprayed finish that etches into the outer surface. It forms a tough surface
that is cleanable and scratch resistant.
The shapes of the main gutter components in the cast effect range remain
unchanged from their standard counterparts. However, new downpipe
fixing components have been specially manufactured to enhance the
traditional look of the system.
Swish rainwater systems are manufactured under an ISO 9001 Quality
Management System to the following standards:

• Kitemark KM 508760

• BS EN 607 (eaves, gutters & fittings)

• BS EN 12200-1 (plastic piping systems)

• BS EN 1462 (brackets for eaves gutters)

Recycled Content

Approximately 84% by weight of the Swish standard range of gutters and
pipes is composed of recycled material that is derived from old PVC
windows and gutter systems that have been removed from buildings when
refurbished or demolished. The production of PVC components from
recycled material requires a fraction of the energy needed to make virgin
PVC. A 70% saving in CO2 output is therefore made during production of
Swish gutter and pipe profiles, when compared to production of 100%
virgin material.
The outer skin of gutters and pipes is virgin material that is co-extruded on
to the surface of the core to enhance the finished appearance and to aid
colour matching.
Swish rainwater accessories are injection moulded using virgin PVC.
These components incorporate a simple clip-together system for fitting
gutter and pipe profiles. The gutter clips include pre-installed seals that are
lubricated during manufacture to ease the clipping process.
Swish standard gutters and pipes are two-tone in appearance, but only
the co-extruded skin of virgin material can be seen from the kerb. All
systems are available in white, black and brown. Deep is also available in
Anthracite Grey. The core recycled material is grey and has been left this
colour to avoid the unnecessary use of additional colouring agents.
The company offers a full technical advisory service to specifiers and can
provide call-off and system advice for new build projects. All products are
supplied through a national network of distributors.
Swish rainwater systems have been independently rig tested for flow rates
according to BS EN 12056: Part 3.

20 - Composite Boards

Ecodek

Ecodek is the UK’s longest established and largest WPC profile
manufacturer, specialising in producing products that match our customer
needs – from standard deck boards cut to a customer’s specification, to
a completely custom profile, Ecodek supplies the highest quality wood
polymer composite products.
The company’s core product is ecodek® – a recycled, durable, wood
polymer composite decking board system, which is a sustainable, low
maintenance alternative to timber that can be used in a wide range of
construction applications in commercial and domestic projects.

What is Composite Decking?

Composite decking is made by combining wood fibres with a polymer to
create a durable decking material. The combination of wood and plastic
creates a product that is both strong and dense.
ecodek® composite decking lasts longer than traditional decking products
made of wood or plastic alone.

Performance

ecodek® boards are solid unlike many of the hollow decking products
currently available. They have a high-point load capability and great rigidity
when installed, ensuring a strong decking structure. They also have good
noise absorption, low potential for slip (CENTS 15676) and can be laid
level. Boards have better impact resistance, heat up more slowly and
remain cooler than PVC hollow decking. They are easier to cut than timber,
will not rot, splinter or promote mould or algae growth and require no clips
or end caps.

Environmental Credentials

ecodek® boards are an environmentally responsible choice for decking.
Made from sustainably sourced hardwood flour and recycled HDPE
polymer, they capture and store more carbon than they create. An
independent body has conducted an LCA (lifecycle assessment) on
ecodek® and concluded that it is carbon negative; it captures and stores
more carbon than is produced during its manufacture.

In 2011, ecodek® achieved FSC® and PEFC© certification. This certification
is essential to demonstrating their continued commitment to environmental
issues and their client’s peace of mind.

PEFC® is the world’s largest forest certification organisation. PEFC®
signifies that accredited products are sourced from sustainably managed
forests. The equivalent of 40 million recycled 4-pint milk bottles per annum
is used in the production of ecodek® each year.

Recycling plastic material like this takes a fraction of the energy needed
to produce virgin plastic. In addition, ecodek® boards are 100% recyclable.

Low Lifetime Cost

A low lifetime cost both in terms of environmental impact and maintenance
requirement is a key feature of ecodek® boards. They are carbon negative
at the factory gate and thereafter do not require coating with any protective
material at any time throughout their service life, saving maintenance costs
and any further greenhouse gas output.

At the end of their service life, they can be recycled into other similar
products.

Commercial Decking

ecodek® is popular with architects and builders. It gives a polished look to
any commercial project and is used extensively as balcony flooring in
residential developments, as outdoor seating areas for restaurants and
pubs, on hotel balconies, schools and museums.

With our 25-year warranty and ability to provide bespoke lengths and
colours, ecodek® is a strong choice for any commercial decking project.
ecodek® has been used as decking for marinas, swimming pools and spas
because of its durability, anti-slip properties and resistance to water and
moisture.

Air Distribution & Natural Ventilation - 23

Gilberts (Blackpool)

Natural ventilation, unlike mechanical fan forced
ventilation, simply uses the natural pressure
differential force of air movement, wind and
buoyancy to deliver a steady supply of fresh air for
building ventilation and cooling.

Naturally ventilating a building offers the best of both worlds, combining
little or no energy consumption with low capital costs, whilst still providing
adequate fresh air and temperature conditions throughout the year.

With plant room also eliminated, lower service / maintenance costs and
services space minimised, natural ventilation makes for one of the most
practical choices of the day.

Gilberts Mistrale natural ventilation range is an all new series
incorporating patented design features that position it at the leading edge
of modern natural ventilation design. Designed for both stack effect, wind
driven or even single wall/façade hybrid solutions, Mistrale provides the
perfect solution for efficient and effective natural ventilation.

Natural Ventilation Solutions

Mistrale 75

Mistrale 75 provides a traditional stack effect natural ventilation solution
enabled for installation into both windows and walls. A patented insulated
blade damper with full insulated casing not only offers very low leakage
when closed, but also a U-value of less than 1 Watt/m²/k.

The patented intake louvre design also offers high weather performance
in an economical single bank assembly. Optional coils also allow the unit
to combine ventilation with a heating or cooling function.

Penthouse Turret

Gilberts intake/exhaust penthouse turrets are manufactured in a wide
cross section of configurations creating a perfect system design and
aesthetic that caters for hybrid, wind driven or stack effect systems.

All penthouse units include our patented high weather efficiency class ‘A’
design to eliminate weather ingress, and can be fitted on to both flat and
pitched roofs.

Fusion Terminal

A hybrid single side wall or façade solution, Gilberts new Mistrale Fusion
MFS terminals combine ventilation with an innovative heat recovery
feature, incorporating an ultra-low power fan.

One of the latest innovations in ventilation, Mistrale Fusion MFS is a
dynamic hybrid that includes ultra-low power fan assistance that
energises in poor air movement conditions to ensure adequate ventilation
that meets BB101 and PBSB requirements at all times.

Controls

Mistrale features a bespoke design controls set to provide standalone
operation or a straightforward interface with the BMS. Room CO2 and
temperature sensors can communicate with Mistrale to fully manage the
complex relationships between airflow, temperature and air quality and
thus maintain the perfect classroom environment.

and tile has been individually assessed by BRE Global, receiving an ‘A+’
rating in major use areas of health and education Cert No. ENP472.

Safety

The Polysafe collection of heavy-duty vinyl safety flooring incorporates
various safety particles to provide enhanced slip resistance. This includes
coloured quartz, aluminium oxide, natural recycled aggregates and silicon
carbide particles to provide the required friction between foot and floor.
The Polysafe portfolio offers an excellent choice of decoration and colour
without taking away from Polysafe’s rationale – to provide sustainable,
wet slip resistant performance, underfoot safety and ease of maintenance.
Many products in the Polysafe range incorporate Polysafe PUR, a high
quality, cross-linked polyurethane reinforcement, UV cured to provide
superior cleaning benefits, lifecycle maintenance savings and optimum
appearance retention.
The latest additions to the collection are design-led flooring ranges suited
for both front and back of house areas. These products feature built-in
slip resistance that is carborundum-free and virtually invisible to the eye.
Polysafe Verona PUR is a sheet vinyl made up of the ORIGINAL and
PURE COLOURS collections, combining subtle pastel shades mixed with
stronger tonal hues optimised for specification with dementia friendly
design schemes ideally suited to many commercial and residential
sectors. Polyflor Expona Control PUR is the world’s first slip resistant
LVT available in plank or tile, replicating popular wood and stone
concepts. Other decorative ranges in the collection include Polysafe
Wood fx PUR featuring contemporary and on-trend timber designs with
built-in slip resistance.
The Polysafe range is suited to many commercial and residential areas
to reduce the potential for slipping where spillages may occur. For those
areas requiring more specialist flooring, options are available such as
Polysafe Ultima and Polysafe Apex, designed for commercial kitchens
and food processing areas where oil and grease spillages could occur.
The Polysafe wetroom ranges Quattro, Hydro and Hydro evolve have
been specifically designed to provide a high degree of slip resistance
whether wearing footwear or being barefoot in continually wet areas.
To meet acoustic and safety requirements, Polysafe Wood fx Acoustix
PUR offers impact sound reduction levels of 19dB in excess of Building
Regulation Part E requirements with sustainable wet slip resistance.
The Polysafe collection fully conforms to the European Norm EN 13845
for safety flooring and meets the abrasion requirements set down in the
50,000 Cycles Test. All products adhere to HSE and UK Slip Group
Guidelines, achieving results of at least 36+ in the RRL Pendulum Test
(wet test using 4S Rubber/Slider 96) and a surface roughness of 20
microns. Polysafe floor coverings achieve an independent British Board
of Agrément rating of at least 10 years’ performance in recommended
use areas and slip resistance is assured throughout the guaranteed life
of the product. Polysafe ranges are individually certified by BRE Global
as having an environmental A+ Rating (Certificate No. ENP472 &
ENP415) in major use areas such as education and healthcare.

for projects with small budgets.

Wovon

The Wovon collection of interwoven vinyl tiles provides a unique opportunity
to explore new textures and patterns. With all the advantages of a heavy
commercial vinyl construction, the Wovon collection is a hard wearing, low
maintenance option for commercial and residential locations looking for
contemporary woven flooring materials.

Trench Heating Radiant Trench
Trench
Trench heating is the perfect solution for distributing heat while preventing Trench
cold draughts in rooms where there are large areas of floor-to-ceiling Trench
glazing, such as offices and car showrooms.

The floor convectors fit into a trench or false floor in the perimeter of the
building close to the glazing.

As well as providing heat to the room, they reduce cold down draughts
from the glazing and can assist in preventing condensation. The heater
acts as a screen at cold windows, increasing thermal comfort in the interior.

Aesthetically pleasing, room design and décor can be complemented with
a range of grille finishes.

Radiant Panels Radiant

SPC’s ceiling mounted radiant heating system offers a simple, highly
efficient yet concealed solution to heat almost any room.
The radiant panels can either be suspended just below a ceiling or fitted

28 - Exposed Ceiling Solutions

TROX UK

TROX UK offers product and system solutions to meet many of the HVAC
sector needs from air handling units through to terminal air devices and
control systems.
TROX is also able to provide a range of products that meet the needs of
an exposed ceiling solution. The removal of a ceiling can have a
significant effect on the performance of products, but with our onsite
testing facilities we can demonstrate product performance to you and the
wider project team.

Chilled Beams & Multi Service Chilled Beams

Our diverse range of linear, modular and bulkhead mounted chilled
beams provide integrated, discreet solutions for many applications from
offices, hotels, residential to industrial. The standard range of beams is
augmented by TROX UK’s project tailored multi service chilled beam
(MSCB) design capability. These beams:

• Combine aesthetic flexibility with economic functionality

• Are highly energy-efficient systems

• Eliminate the need for suspended ceilings (reducing the building’s
minimum slab-to-soffit height to 2.8m)

These bespoke solutions can also incorporate:

• Lighting/luminaires

• Public address systems

• Smoke detectors & water sprinklers

• Heating and/or cooling

• CCTV & PIR sensors

• BMS, voice & data cables

Fan Coil Units

Type PWX range of fan coil units have been developed with energy
efficiency in mind and are manufactured at TROX’s Thetford facility. The
TROX fan coil unit, attenuator and plenums have all been independently
tested and:

• Are available in 6 sizes to cover a range of airflow from 50l/s to 636l/s,
with 16 different fan options & 9 different air flow configurations

• Can be matched to the available TROX plenum/grille sets for system
optimisation

• As standard, can be supplied with a range of controls from simple
single zone (room) control to more sophisticated BMS compatible
BACnet controllers

• Integrated TROX control strategies, including energy efficient VAV
functionality, are supplied as standard, however project specific
functionality can be programmed upon request

Swirl Diffusers with Circular Plenums

TROX UK offers an extensive range of grilles and diffusers to meet a
host of applications. However, not all products transfer to an exposed
ceiling application; one of the main issues to consider is selecting a swirl
diffuser that maintains the coanda effect with adjacent ceiling finish. If
the incorrect product is selected, dumping of air can occur causing drafts
and occupant discomfort.
Following testing at TROX UK’s labs we have identified swirl diffusers
that will not only meet the high levels of performance and occupant
comfort that you expect, but also your aesthetic requirements too.

CIBSE Accredited CPD Courses

• Air for the People, Water for the Loads - an introduction to chilled
beam technology

• Air Flow Control - an overview of managing variable air volumes

• Lab Control - managing air within a laboratory setting
TROX UK also offers tailored technical seminars and training sessions
at our Thetford site incorporating air diffuser lab demos and
manufacturing facility tours.

Renewable / Energy Efficient Heating - 29

Glen Dimplex

Glen Dimplex Heating & Ventilation is a new division of the Glen Dimplex
Group, the world’s largest electric heating manufacturer. With the recent
addition of key brands like Ability, Redring and Xpelair to Glen Dimplex
Heating the new division delivers our ambition to create market-defining
HVAC solutions, supported by a deep-rooted and continuous investment
in new ideas, modern design and ongoing innovation.

Ability Fan Coils

Acquired in 2016, Ability Projects have now become part of the specialist
division Glen Dimplex Heating & Ventilation, which combines our R&D
efforts and allows the entire group to leverage it’s knowledge to produce
the most efficient and effective HVAC solutions. Based in Poole, Dorset,
Ability operate a fully integrated sales, product design and manufacturing
facility which has led to them becoming the UK’s pre-eminent FCU
supplier.
Since Ability's inception in 2001, the philosophy of designing flexible,
forward thinking and technologically advanced products has shaped their
core values, which still hold firm today. The early implementation of EC
motor technology helped to shape the industry, increasing focus on
energy efficiency and helping to dramatically reduce energy consumption
and the associated carbon footprint.

Heat Pumps

With over 30 years’ experience in heat pump technology, Dimplex’s
renewable heating solutions have been operating effectively and
efficiently in homes, schools, offices, hotels, libraries and retail units all
over the UK for many years. As well as the new products outlined above,
we continue to offer a wide range of Commercial Air Source and Ground
Source heat pumps including a suite of complementary products
dedicated to energy efficient space and water heating,

Zeroth

For those that aspire to live in a modern city apartment, an unfortunate
by-product of the desire for acres of glass and the need to reduce urban
noise and exclude pollution are hot, stuffy living spaces. The revolutionary
Zeroth Energy System uses an innovative, refrigerant free, water-to-water
energy loop, running at 15-25°C, providing heating, cooling and hot water
to apartments through in-dwelling heat pump technology.
With the inclusion of a Zeroth Energy System, making clever, cost
effective, use of lower temperature water throughout your building, you
have the assurance of well-balanced and comfortably controlled
temperature within your apartment and communal areas. It also means
your building and lifestyle are more environmentally friendly, using and
losing less energy.

Edel

Edel is a combination water cylinder and heat pump, which allows it to
produce hot water efficiently by extracting heat from external air supplied
via insulated ductwork. Due to the high efficiencies, the cylinder reduces
the Dwelling Emission Rate in SAP and is Appendix Q listed. This makes
it possible to pass Part L building regulations simply, often in conjunction
with electric space heating.

Xpelair MVHR

As homes become increasingly airtight through efficiency measures such
as insulation, draught-proofing and double-glazed windows, stale air
remains in the home. MVHR removes the stale air and recovers the heat,
thereby improving the indoor air quality and helping to comply with the
building regulations.

and is used to introduce clean make up air back into the kitchen.
Our ethos is simple: we provide a range of products of the highest quality,
at very affordable prices, whilst being mindful of the impact their
manufacture and use has upon the environment.

Britannia offers a range of products by covering all types of ventilation
systems which includes: grease filtration systems, recessed fluorescent
light fittings, service distribution units, splashback wall cladding, fire
suppression systems and make up air systems. Canopies and ceilings
are manufactured from type 304 satin polished stainless steel. All welding
is of high penetration, reground and polished to match the original finish.
Joints in the canopies are formed by means of internal standing seams
with stainless steel bolts, which are then covered with a full height cover
strip and sealed to the canopy valance with food grade sealant. All
construction complies with DW172.

No visible fixings are used in the construction of our hoods.

The Britstream Range

The Britstream range of hoods has been developed after years of “in the
field” research and development of kitchen hoods. Apart from this
real-world input, we have extensively tested and retested products at our
own facility in Leamington Spa, as well as sponsoring many external test
procedures on various components.

The result of all this work is a hood system based around a group of
modularised components which can be configured in multiple ways to
create, what to all intents and purposes, is a bespoke product. All parts
have been designed to achieve a predetermined performance but are
specifically not over-engineered. The combination of these properties
provides a consistently high quality product, with great flexibility of
application and at extremely competitive prices.

Ultrastream UV Filtration System

Britannia also offers the Ultrastream range of canopies, which use UV
Filtration to provide secondary grease destruction and odour removal.
This keeps extract ducts clean and allows for cleaner discharge air.

First stage grease removal is achieved using the Superstream high
efficiency baffle filter panel, which also provides a fire barrier between
the kitchen and ductwork.

Grease and odour destruction is achieved by passing the extract air
through the UV lamp assembly located within the canopy. Intense UV
light energy breaks down and destroys residual grease and odours by a
combination of ozonolysis and photolysis.

Refresh Recirculation Unit

Refresh is a self-contained kitchen ventilation unit that comprises an
extract and supply canopy with a dedicated services tower at one end.
The tower has an integral fan unit and additional stages of filtration to
clean the air before being introduced back into the kitchen.

Contaminated air from cooking appliances is filtered first by the
Superstream baffle grease filters located in the canopy to remove the
vast proportion of the grease from the airstream.

Using the power of the internal fan in the tower, the air is then drawn out
from the canopy and through the tower assembly and passed through
four additional stages of increasingly efficient filters, to remove remaining
grease before going through carbon filter elements to reduce odours.
Filtered air is then reintroduced into the kitchen through the supply diffuser
on the front of the canopy.

36 - Heat Pumps for Heating

Mitsubishi Electric

Anyone involved in designing, installing, commissioning or operating
building services will be aware of the significant changes that are
happening to the way we heat, cool and ventilate our buildings.

Legislation such as EPC (Energy Performance Certificates) and MEES
(Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards) are pushing building operators
towards ensuring that their buildings do not waste energy – and that they
can clearly demonstrate it through industry standards such as BREEAM
and the Home Quality Mark.

With buildings accounting for 44% of all UK greenhouse gas emissions
(which is more than industry or transport), this is hardly surprising.

Whilst we are now creating new low carbon buildings, around 75% of
existing buildings will still be in use in 2050, so to a large degree, our
future is already built.

Part of the answer therefore must be improving the energy efficiency of
existing buildings, which can quickly make a dramatic difference.

The good news is that many of the solutions that can help are affordable,
scalable and available right now.

Commercial & Domestic Heating

With an advanced range of air source, water source and ground source
heat pumps scalable from 4kW to 960kW, there is an Ecodan heat pump
available for almost any situation.

Domestically, the Ecodan range has been installed in new-build,
refurbishments, listed buildings and tower developments.

The new Ultra Quiet Ecodan unit has been designed to satisfy domestic
premises permitted development standards (MCS020), and the market
leading low noise levels virtually eliminate the need for planning
permission and maximises installation options.

The domestic range is also fully endorsed with the Noise Abatement
Society’s Quiet Mark.

Commercially, Ecodan is being used to provide renewable heating for a
variety of commercial buildings, industrial processes, schools and also
in community heating schemes.

All Ecodan installations are also eligible for the Renewable Heat Incentive
and include Wi-Fi enabled apps for remote monitoring and control from
anywhere in the world.

Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery
(MVHR)

Lossnay MVHR systems recover valuable heat energy from extracted
stale air to maximise efficiency and improve indoor air quality.

Systems are available to suit any building, from a single dwelling to a
large office complex.

CPD Guides

With a unique position at the heart of the construction industry, the
company has also set out to help inform and educate people on the issues
that affect us all.

This has led to the publication of over 60 CPD Guides on legislation and
technology.

These free guides aim to help those involved in designing, constructing
and maintaining the buildings that we as a nation need, by providing the
details to make an informed decision.

Lighting Styles

Integrating lighting into architecture

It is never too soon to think how lighting will work in your project.

You can show the client the principal of how you see artificial lighting
changing the look and feel of the space without bogging them down with
details beyond how it feels to live or work in your design.

Simply put, if you do not want ceiling fixtures to compromise or ruin the
lines of your design, show embedded lighting in rendered graphics,
walk-throughs or models.

Convincing the design team to integrate lighting into the architecture can
give stunning results. Light fixtures become part of the building fabric and
once installed disappear into the walls or ceiling yet still provide the accent
lighting or task lighting required.

Essentially integrated LED lighting allows the designer or architect to play
with light and shadows to enhance the design rather than detract from it.

Practicalities are easier than you think

Working with ‘not-quite-square’ conditions found on-site is easier because
these plaster products can be cut and customised as required so
everything fits without issue. The wide range of plaster and aluminium
factory-finished profiles, with knife-edge sharp details, introduce a quality
every designer or architect would like to achieve without the compromise
of what a tradesman can achieve on-site.

For those who want to move away from the normal ‘grid’ layout there are
products that offer the ability to make curves, circles or pretty much any
shape that would work in the space.

All profiles can be used with several different LED tapes with a wide range
of light outputs and colour temperatures working with the chosen lighting
control system.

Offering this flexibility does not have an impact on the engineer’s work
as this solution can still provide the lighting levels the space requires and
remove the discomfort glare associated with direct lighting.

And of course, everything else

With 30 years in the specification lighting industry, Lighting Styles can
assist with all aspects of lighting from simple ground lights to elaborate
bespoke installations. We work with you to ensure you have the best
lighting design, to your specific budget and project requirements.

own range of UK manufactured LED down lighters with advanced heat
management, optical design and full control over glare.

Innovative LED Puck

TheisCraft is delighted to be the UK distributor for the original LED Puck
and mini Puck. Designed and manufactured in Australia from 316
stainless steel, the Puck is a truly innovative and stylish integrated LED
fixture which blends seamlessly into handrails offering unrivalled
uniformity and photometric performance.

Compatible with emergency lighting, it is one of the few LED modules
available with an impressive IK10 impact rating of 10 (IEC 62262) and
IP65. Available in three beam types including RGBW and works with any
dimming protocol.

Small ( Ø15mm) and unobtrusive yet offering powerful illumination, the
Puck sits perfectly flush within the handrail. It is fast and easy to install
due to its patented design, and once fitted the Puck cannot be tampered
with – the only way to remove it is with a unique tool.

We have Pucks suitable for brass and wooden handrails with curved or
flat mounting surface with a minimum wall thickness of 1.5mm and a
minimum diameter of 25mm. There is no upper limit on wall-thickness
or diameter.

Unique T-BAR LED

TheisCraft is pleased to offer to the UK market JLC-TECH’s T-BAR
LED™. Unique in concept, the T-BAR LED demonstrates how high-
performance LEDs can be used to create lighting fixtures that double as
a building material, while distributing the required light in commercial
spaces.

The T-BAR LED™ is not only a light, but also an integral part of the
suspended ceiling grid, easily mounted into a new construction or retrofit
during renovation.

The T-BAR LED is a minimalist low voltage linear lighting fixture that
snaps, tool-free, into the grid with minimal labour, taking the place of
cross members in a ceiling suspension system. Made from anodised and
painted aluminium extruded body and available in a range of lens types
and finishes to achieve direct, indirect and wall wash effects in
warm/neutral white and also RGBW.

Due to the lights only occupying the grid, ceiling panels remain
uninterrupted which creates a uniform ceiling design and optimises sound
absorption and light reflection. Thanks to patented technology, the
junction point temperature of the LED is maintained below the maximum
rating allowed by the LED manufacturer, insuring product longevity.

The T-BAR LED™ is a step into the future, changing the way we
illuminate spaces.

Wetroom Drainage Solutions - 45

Purus

Purus is one of Scandinavia’s leading suppliers and manufacturers of
wetroom drainage solutions for the health, leisure, hotel and hospitality
industries as well as domestic and social housing. Purus Limited, based
in Leeds, specialises in a range of drainage solutions, including floor
gullies, linear channels for vinyl and tiled floors and stainless steel
channels for commercial and industrial use.
Purus also works in three other product areas: Indoor Plumbing Products,
Stainless Steel Sanitaryware and Stainless Steel Interiors. Many Purus
products have BIM objects and are BBA Certified.

Floor Drains for Care Homes, Wetrooms & More

A wide range of Purus floor gullies for vinyl, tiled and resin floors are
available in plastic and stainless steel. Purus’ best-selling floor gully, the
BBA-Certified Minimax 50, is suitable for tiled and vinyl floor finishes, has
a shallow depth of 76mm and incorporates the NOOD no-odour water trap.
The NOOD will not allow any foul air to leave the drain even when it dries
out, and it is also included in the Minimax Two Part – designed for simple
installation into former trays; the Mini Brage 50/110 vertical gullies; and
the recently launched 59mm S-Series.
Purus’ 59mm S-Series floor gully is extremely popular with contractors
and architects due to its super low-level depth of just 59mm and suitability
in concrete floors with either a tiled or vinyl finish.
Purus floor gullies are ideal for use in care homes, health facilities and
disabled access wetrooms, as well as domestic and commercial projects.
Stainless steel grates are available for a premium finish.
A range of security gullies are also available with a choice of a stainless
steel grate with anti-ligature features or a lockable plastic grate. The
security gullies are available with a choice of outlets and include the
NOOD no-odour trap.

Linear Channel Drains for Domestic Projects

The Purusline Living linear drain allows for a stylish, sleek and functional
space in any tiled bathroom, wetroom or showering area. Purusline Living
is available in lengths of 600 and 800mm with three outlets and three
stainless steel grates to choose from. These include the Drop and Twist
patterned grates and the Tile Insert grate which creates a minimalist look
where the tiles sit into the grate. Purusline Living is very popular in hotels
and the leisure industry as well as domestic and commercial projects.
For vinyl floor finishes, the Purusline Living Plus is Purus’ newest range
of linear drains. Also available for tiled finishes and designed for use in
domestic and commercial projects, the Purusline Living Plus comes with
the NOOD water trap and is suitable for joist and concrete floors.
The Purus Channel 100 is Purus’ stainless steel channel drainage
solution and is an ideal system for shower areas, changing rooms and
hotel and leisure facilities; as well as industrial areas such as factories
and breweries. It is designed for installation into concrete floors with vinyl,
tiled, resin or concrete finishes and comes in standard lengths up to 2.5m.
Four grate types are available, as well as two different outlet positions.
The Chess and Wave patterned stainless steel grates are ideal for
barefoot areas whilst the L15 and M125 load-bearing mesh grates are
designed to suit heavy-duty industrial use.
A bespoke service is available for longer lengths and channels required
in 316-grade acid-resistant stainless steel. A wider selection of stainless
steel channels are also available including the Industrial and Laundry
Gullies and Kitchen Channels.

Plumbing Products – PUM & Pipe Connectors

Purus offers a wide range of plumbing products with the PUM (Purus
Universal Membrane) at the forefront. The Basin/Bidet Waterless Waste
with revolutionary PUM technology is a low-level membrane which saves
space without reducing the flow capacity. A range of 7 pipe connectors
with 60 connecting options for various pipe materials and sizes is also
available.

Stainless Steel Sanitaryware & Interiors

Purus’ Stainless Steel Sanitaryware range has been designed for both
domestic and public environments, and is robust, durable and of high
quality. Purus’ V220 Sediment Traps and V55 Plaster Separators are
designed to stop the deposition of substances such as plaster and sand,
and are therefore frequently used in universities, colleges and art schools.
A range of bespoke stainless steel Kitchen Worktops are also available.
