Budget 2022, at best, is the start of a much larger
conversation on the state of education in India. The
focus of the Budget was on building and improving the
technological infrastructure to support education, but
implementation remains to be seen.

Union Budget 2022 did not address many longstand-

mediate concern, which was to minimise and account
for the learning loss occurring due to the pandemic. The
large allocation of funds reflected the importance of
education and was likely to set the benchmark for future
budgets. While having screens do the jobs of teachers
was not ideal, it was a step towards bridging the learning
gap. These platforms are expected to lay the foundation
on which education of the next decade can be built.

I firmly believe that gen-
der diversity in the work-
place — be it in any sector
— must be an indispens-
able part of the corporate
agenda that is imbibed
from inception, and not as
an afterthought.

The much-needed
corporate balance can be
attained if it is thought
about consciously from the
inception of the company.
It is much easier to ensure
diversity if the core team
has a good representation,
as women are more likely
to bring in other women
in leadership roles in their
team. We are living in a
time where more women
have resumed leadership
roles than ever before and
that is an empowering
feeling.

What does it take to be

a successful entrepre-

neur?
I think entrepreneurship
is a rare mindset, not a
skill. If you choose some-
thing you’re truly passion-
ate about, then think big
on the transformation
you can create. Be bull-
ish about the goals you set
but be flexible in how you
execute them. Also, there
is a need to build a sup-
port system around you
because it’s not a straight
ride up. The more people
there are to support you
the smoother it will be
as you face your journey.
Finally, I strongly believe
that failures are just step-
ping stones — fail fast, win
big, and don’t take no for
an answer.
