For the attention of only ONE CHEMIST

Probably not you.

But you will know.

Our Representative records 20 visits to your establish-

ment with never an interview.

Year by year he reports your windows (the best on

^JJ^

the Coast) have never once in the Season

featured a Corn Cure Display.

—^JT When the opportunity comes for which he has waited
5 years he is willing to wager, any window sales records

you have got will crumble.

—^JT No idle boast this experience, what other men have

discovered, will one day be yours too.

Wigglesworth Window Displays of Corn Cures are a

^JT

scientific and sure way to window sales that pay the
rent. They are winning more space every year. Don't be
too conservative about leaving good alone. Our sales grow
bigger and bigger, and when our Representative next calls

—give him a chance he deserves it.

Meritor Tooth Brushes

Are British-Made

This is the year for a boom in British-made goods. The influence of Wembley Exhibition
is felt all over the country, and the words British-Made on any article carry more

weight than ever.

This is the strong point of Meritor Tooth Brushes. They are British-Made. There is
some considerable satisfaction in being able to offer your customers a tooth brush which you
know is superior to all other tooth brushes, one which you can guarantee, which you know

—is splendid value at a popular price and which you can sell as British-Made.

Meritor Tooth Brushes explode that popular fallacy that all British-Made goods are
expensive. They are cheaper than some foreign brushes of inferior make.

Keep a corner of your window for a display of Meritor Tooth Brushes. The
attractively decorated cartons and display material will make the passing
pedestrian stop and look, and once that passing pedestrian has bought
a Meritor Tooth Brush he comes back sooner or later for another.

OAP

If you were not able to visit the Chemists' Exhibi-
tion and see the Midgley's Soap exhibit, you should

certainly ask to see samples when next our traveller
calls. Thus you may judge for yourself how these

soaps excel in elegance of finish, richness of per-

fume, and superiority of base. Midgley's Soaps are

" the Pharmacist's own " and are offered only to the

drug trade at prices which secure to the retailer a

Chemist's—not a grocer's—margin of profit. The

quality is super-excellent, and doctors prescribe
Midgley's wherever a perfectly " pure " skin
emollient is required, and in cases where ordinary
soaps could not be tolerated.

We are pleased to be the selling agents.

ERS & AL

THE foremost important question being considered to-day by Manu-
facturing Perfumers is the prohibitive spirit duty. Pure Grape

Alcohol or the highly rectified S.V.R. used in their products

represents 75% of the cost of production. Substitutes are suggested, such

as Methyl Alcohol or Industrial Spirit, also Isopropyl Alcohol. These
products are odorous, and in delicate perfumery cannot be disguised.
The only alternative is the use of dilute alcohol.

Natural Oils, when added to dilute alcohol, always become turbid, due
to the precipitation of insoluble terpenes, and therefore Terpeneless Oils
possess many advantages over the ordinary essential oils of commerce.

Unfortunately, however, there is an enormous difference in the makes of

TERPENELESS OILS—BERGAMOT, for example, due to careless
manufacture. A good Terpeneless Oil consists of the odoriferous

ingredients only. Terpeneless Oils should not be confused with synthetics.

They have more " body " than synthetics. They possess two distinct
advantages over the original oil in that they are (a) much more soluble in

dilute alcohol and (b) do not so readily decompose with age.

The approximate quantities to be used when converting any formula,
from Natural Oils, can easily be arrived at by a reference to the

concentration tables (See Perfumery & Cosmetics, Page 140, by W. A.
Poucher, Chapman & Hall).

We give herewith a prize winning formula for Eau de Cologne made from

Natural Oils with the alternative made from Terpeneless Oils, showing

the substituted quantities employed (Perfumery & Cosmetics, Page 312).

—I The Value of a Name

I if it is Your Own Name

If your qualities and personality are g,ood, your name is good.

If your name is good, it has reached its value because your
qualities or service are above the average.

ff What is the outstanding point ? Surely it is that any good

thing concerning yourself should bear your name.

{jf Your name is your Ambassador in the homes of the public
you serve. If you are not a success in the profession,
by all means hide your identity. But you cannot have

—secured your qualifications on those terms the mere possession

of Pharmaceutical qualifications stamps you as a go-ahead
personality, a trained mind, an efficient practitioner with proved
capacity. In such circumstances you cannot help but increase
your commercial value by broadcasting your own name.

{j| To point a moral, we ask a question : Do you get full value
out of your own name products ? If they are not worth it, the

fault after all is yours. If the make-up and presentation of the

article is not attractive, if the quality is not all it should be,

then your name will not help it, and it will not help your name.

RESER VABLE "SERIES' LABELS

STAR • MORTAR • PURPLE KEY • ANCHOR

franked with your own name

are illustrated on the inside pages of this Inset. The series
will stamp you as the Pharmacist of your district, and bring
the trade to you, which is an easier proposition than your

taking the goods to the people.

USE YOUR OWN NAME

but be sure of the product. Have no doubt as to its attractive

—presentation apply it to those lines which advance your name

ensure that your neighbour cannot offer a similar pack.

IF YOU WANT THE REPEAT ORDER—INTRODUCE

THIS 'SERIES' UNDER YOUR OWN NAME
