The Firemen of the different Companies are provided with proper implements; and the Watermen are directed to render every assistance in their power, to turn the Water on, where wanted, and direct where the Plugs are to be found. By attaching leather hose piping to the Fire Cocks fixed upon the leading Mains, which are kept constantly charged, a powerful and continuous stream of water can be thrown over the loftiest houses, simply by the pressure obtained by the elevation of the reservoirs. In the Market, near the Police Station, is kept a Fire Escape, by Wyvill, generously presented to the city by the Right Hon. Lord J. O'Bryen. Immediate application should be made to the Watermen and Police Stations (where a certain number of Fire Buckets are kept, as also lengths of Leather Hose, with branch Play-Pipe complete, for use with the Fire Cocks), on the first alarm of Fire: the residences of the lVatermen are as follow : ' Jacob Lewis, 15, Paradise st1·eet, Wells road John Litman, Tennis cmtrt, Morford street Henry Miles, 22, Mmford street Edmund Willcox, North-road lodge, Sydney gardens. ~ ituations of tbe §ire ~ocit:s anlr ~lugs ronnrttelr hlitb tte barious mater Uipes.
