As the final phase, unheard true stories of child abuse were brought to the light using the official Instagram page of the project where it gave much strength to survivors to speak up anonymously and let the world know that these stories exist and these stories need to be put to an end - September - April General public 12 Safer Tomorrow Community Service No With the district back to school initiative under COVID - 19 prevention, this project was organized by our club, where essential sanitary items and COVID - 19 prevention toolkits were donated to the Deepangoda Kanishta Vidyalaya, Pannipitiya. - November - January Students at Deepangoda Kanishta Vidyalaya 13 Sneha Community Service No A young boy who is having a terminal illness and in emergent need of a bonemarrow transplant which costs millions of rupees were discovered by a club member of our club and this project was organized to support the family of this boy. A donation worth Rs.50,000 was collected and the amount was given to the parents of the child - December - February General public
252 | P a g e 14 Symfiliosi Community Service Yes This project was organized in enhancing the religious and cultural understanding and to portray the unity and harmony which exists within the people in our community. This was also carried down in 4 phases focusing on 4 religions in our country. The first phase was carried out at a temple where our club members visited this temple and renovated and painted the dhamma school building and donated stationary equipments which included a white board and a notice board to the dhamma school. As the 2nd phase, the club members visited a Hindu community and handed over essential stationary packs to school children who are currently studying in that community. As the 3rd phase, we visited an orphanage located at a Christian church and planted herbal plants and created a herbal garden in the church premises. And as the final phase, books were collected from our members and the drive was donated to Sri Lanka association of Muslim girls and women. An altered version of project "Api" was turned into project "Symfiliosi" and was carried down December - May General public 15 S.A.F.E Community Service - EN No This project was initiated with the aim of spreading awareness about the need of conserving rare endangered animal species in Sri Lanka. The project was organized on par with the animal conservation week and it consisted of 3 phases. 253 | P a g e 17 Mihi man dige Community Service - EN Yes A journey opening door to a sustainable future, 'Mihi Man Dige', was mainly aimed at Butterfly Conservation. Taking its first step, an open-air butterfly garden was created in the Faculty of Science, University of Colombo premises providing a safe haven for numerous butterfly species. With the assistance of professionals in the field, host plants and nectar plants were collected and the garden was made on the 22nd of May 2022. The garden is maintained by the members of RACFOSUOC under the guidance of the experts, setting on a path toward securing these little wings within urban areas. And the second phase was conducted under the name “An insight to butterfly gardening”, a zoom session conducted by a butterfly enthusiast. This project was mentioned as "Little Wings" in the initial year plan. As mentioned in that, the first 2 phases were carried out under the project "Mihi man dige". March - May Students of FOSUOC 18 Sayuru pawura Community Service - EN Yes This project was also organized by the 5 Rotaract clubs of the University of Colombo, focusing on the waterbody conservation in Sri Lanka. This was carried down in several phases where as for the first phase, a beach cleanup and a snorkeling session was conducted. As the 2nd phase the river beds of the Bopath falls were cleaned by the club members and awareness boards were installed in the premises. The basic idea of the project "Coastal Salvage" was utilized into a phase of this project and carried out as a beach cleanup and a snorkeling session. OCTAVE - John Keells Group, a powerhouse in the field of sophisticated data analytics, was the driving force behind 'Data Storm 3.0.' The Introductory Webinar Series, Masterclass 1.0, Storming Round, Masterclass 2.0, Semi-Finals, and Final Round were the six stages of this competition. The project lasted roughly two and a half months and began with an introductory webinar series using the Zoom platform and Facebook Live to explain the fascinating ins and outs of data science to people with an interest in the area. - March - April General public 25 Eloquence Professional Development No “Eloquence” was an initiative organized by the Club in collaboration with the “Speaker In You” Academy to provide the necessary guidance to develop these skills that are very often used in an essential aspect of our everyday lives, as social beings. Innovision took place as two webinars via zoom covering the areas of “Boosting Innovative Startups Towards Sustainable Development Goals”. - June - July General public 27 Lifeline Professional Development No The Rotaract Club of General Sir John Kotelawala Defense University, Rotaract Club of Faculty of Science University of Colombo and Interact Club of St. Peter's College planned to initiate a project called “Lifeline” to give a basic knowledge to the community on First Aid tips that would help with our day to day life. The project was initiated on an online platform. We invited Dr. Dharshitha Jothipala as the guest speaker for the project day. The PR campaign of this project consisted of two posts shared on all our social medial platforms. - May General public 28 FriendzAlert Public Relations Yes This was an initiative done in order to celebrate the true values of friendship throughout a week starting from the 30th of July. The project was initiated with the sharing of an Instagram challenge to share pictures and videos of the best memories you have with your friends along with the hashtag “FriendzALert”. This caused a huge PR boost, and as the finale, a remarkable evening was hosted, as the celebrity duo Ashene Kapukotuwa and Nifal Ibrahim, from the band Infinity graced the occasion with their presence to talk about their lifelong friendship. By this we managed to bring on a fun and amusing Instagram Live session through our page, which was a first for us at our club. - July - August General public

Though the blog project "Sanhitha" did not take place, the 1st and 2nd phases of it was carried out as project "Helasa" September - November General public 33 Sathsith Public Relations No Sathsith was an initiative by the editorial team to explore the depth of the challenges that the youth face at present along with the pandemic and numerous other difficulties. Here we took a unique approach in addressing the problems of the youth, to convince the readers about the deep impact they have on the future of the country. As per plan, seven major challenges were selected out of the long running list and the articles were written focusing on the insights of these challenges and their impacts on youth for the future. - December - April General public 34 Wanderlust Public Relations Yes the Editors team of the club put forward a travel blog to inspire and remind tourists of the magical and eccentric wonders that Sri Lanka had to offer, and entice them into visiting the marvelous towns, cities and sites all over the country, by reaching out to a community beyond Rotaract. The aim of the project was to give our readers a glimpse into some of the most illustrious success stories and the encounters faced by the masters of genius who dedicated their lives to changing the world. A total of eleven articles were published in this article series which vary in disciplines of medicine, education, engineering, art, science and technology.
