taking extra precautions because of
the spike in COVID-19 cases due
to the highly contagious Omicron
variant.

ere were no speeches, but Lu-

election.”( e races were uncontest-
ed this year.)

Lucas has been on the Town
Board since 1989. He was rst elect-
ed supervisor in 2009.

“I personally wanted to say thank
you to all of our residents for allow-
ing me to continue in this Supervi-
sor’s job for another two years,” he
said Sunday, Jan. 2.

“I have a good Town Board and
all its members are a pleasure to
work with and are all working hard
for the people in the town,” Lucas
added.

Normally, the entire Lucas clan
comes to watch him get sworn in
before repairing to the family home
to celebrate his daughter Danielle’s
Jan. 1 birthday.

Aronchick also expressed grati-
tude to voters for returning him to
his post.

He thanked the “town’s employ-
ees, volunteers, and elected o cials
for being a productive and pleasant
group to work with.”

Tops on his list, however, was his
wife, Nancy, who he said has sup-
ported him in “everything” he does.

“I wish everyone a safe, healthy,
and happy new year!” Aronchick
added.

Kamenstein wasn’t unhappy about
the swearing-in’s “lack of fanfare.”

It was, he said, “just the type of
event I like.”

“I would like to thank the won-
derful people of North Salem for
voting me back into o ce,” said
Karen Roach. “I look forward to
serving them for the next four years.
And I look forward to working with
an amazing town sta and Town
Board.”

“I’d like to wish everybody a happy
new year,” added Ward Hanaburgh.
“And everybody try to stay healthy,
please.”
