Data Requirements for the Production of Geospatial Products

Through the IDPC system, BGSP focus on addressing the needs of data generation received from JUPEM in term of
readiness and responsiveness to fulfil the ATM requirements.

In year 2020, BGSP annual training has been conduct on July 19 – 24, 2020 at JUPEM for create Standard

Operating Procedure (10 disaster).

iii. Defense Geospatial Committee Meeting   
The meeting has been done at Bilik Persidangan WIsma JUPEM on October 1, 2020 and co-chaired by  Lt.

Jen. Dato’ Pahlawan Redzuan bin Haji Baharuddin, Ketua Staf Markas ATM dan Kol (K) Dato’ Sr Dr. Azhari bin
Mohamed, Committee Advisor. 

iv. Processing permit application for imagery and data acquisition activities
This activity is under Pekeliling Arahan Keselamatan Terhadap Dokumen Geospatial Terperingkat consist of

security screening for imagery and geospatial data acquisition activities. The duration of the permit approval is
within 14 days.  

a. 232 aerial photo permit consist of UAV (225), helicopters (4) and aircraft (3).   
b. 105 areal mapping permit consist of UAVs (58), aircrafts (1), helicopters (10) and car (36).

v. Processing Security Screening Application    
This activity is a geospatial information security screening as stated in Pekeliling Arahan Keselamatan Terhadap

Dokumen Geospatial Terperingkat Bilangan 1 Tahun 2007. 

Details for security screening is as follows: 

a. 180 applications consists of Department of Survey and Mapping Malaysia (129 applications), Department
of Agriculture (35 applications), Malaysian Space Agency (12 applications), Pusat Geospatial Negara (1
applications) and private agencies (3 applications)

b. 42 sheets of map for restricted information security approval consists of Cartography & GIS Division (11
applications), Peninsular Topographic Mapping Division (8 applications), Sabah Topographic Mapping
Division (10 applications) and Sarawak Topographic Mapping Division (13 applications).

vi. Seminars, Workshops and Courses
BGSP committed sending the officers and staffs to career and functional courses for the enhancement of human

capital development capabilities. For year 2020 this activity did not due because COVID-19 pandemic.

Development Expenditure

JUPEM has been approved the Development Expenditure budget’s allocation of RM157,660,300.00 under the Fourth
Rolling Plan (RP4) of the Eleventh Malaysia Plan (RMKe-11) in Year 2020. The overall budget has been adjusted to
RM119,740,210.00 taking into account the Government procurement’s mid-year review policy in the second quarter of
2020.
