Throughout Orlando Health’s 100+ years of history, growth has been a constant. What started as a single hospital in an orange grove now stretches from the Atlantic to the Gulf, into the Caribbean and now into Alabama. Every time Orlando Health expands, patients get better services and communities benefit. To keep pace with the region’s growth, Orlando Health has invested in state-ofthe-art care that’s near where patients live, work and play. This intentional effort to enhance access has led to new hospitals and free-standing emergency departments, as well as new partnerships and institutes. Investments in nextgeneration therapeutic solutions are resulting in game-changing diagnostic tools and life-saving treatments for conditions across every stage of life. And our support for the medical education of physicians, pharmacists and nurses keeps our promise to future generations. The book that you hold helps us share this story with stakeholders in the community. It outlines the imperatives that guide our actions and beliefs. It tells where we have gone and where we are headed. We invite you to take a look and learn more about our story too. David Strong President and CEO, Orlando Health Founded in 1918 during a flu pandemic, Orlando Health has grown from a single hospital into an award-winning network of hospitals, physician practices and outpatient care centers in Central Florida and beyond.
