SPPS 2021 5A Memory Book

To My School Kids

This has been a crazy year! This was the year we faced Covid and won!

Covid changed many of the things we were used to doing on a daily basis such

as starting each day together in the auditorium and eating lunch with our

friends. We went from changing classes to being self contained, but through it

all you have proven just how resilient you are! You were patient and

understanding when things did not go as planned. You kept a positive attitude

and rarely complained regardless of what was changed or taken away. I am so

proud of you all. Despite all the things we lost - we gained a lot, too! We gained

a new appreciation for the little things in life. We got to cherish time with family.

We learned to look forward to small things like going for a walk or seeing our

friends - things that we often took for granted. The year has flown by! We have

learned a lot and laughed a lot. You stayed focused even despite the

uncertainty that presented itself each day. We navigated uncharted waters–

together. We build each other up when we needed encouragement, and we

continued to support each other throughout the year. The take-away from the

Covid pandemic is to always search for the positive in every situation and try to

find a reason to laugh every day.

Remember to always work hard and dream big! Never doubt your ability.

The people who succeed are those that refused to give up! Finally, don’t ever

forget to be kind - you do not know what someone else is going through so

always try to be the reason that someone smiles! Best of luck as you continue

your life’s journey - try to take the path less traveled every once in a while - or

better yet - make your own path! I will miss you - you will forever be my school

kids that helped me through a world pandemic!

OWL PELLETS I We all had a great

time and felt like true
scientists. When we got
the pellets, we could not
wait to open them. Our
class also learned how
they were made.

We found a lot of bones like skulls. When we found them, we were so excited and
showed everyone. In class, we saw a video of an owl making a pellet. They make
those because they cannot digest the fur and bones, so they get compressed into a
ball and were regurgitated.

My favorite part of making the eggs
was the paper mache cuz like it felt
nice in my hands and I was able to do it
with people I like and not be too
jealous because mine looked decent.

Adriana- “ A crazy year but grateful that Mrs Higgins had
made it an easier year for us”
Angelica- “awesome, but disappointed that covid prevented
some class activities”

Fifth grade was such an amazing experience. It
was so fun and filled with many memories. Just
because it was a covid year does not mean it is a
wasted year.

My favorite memory from fifth grade was
singing childhood songs altogether. The best childhood
song in my opinion was definitely Little Einsteins
Theme Song.
