Camera Obscura process - Section/Plan (1:10) - Results
Camera Obscura - Sketch Model 1
Observations:
-I made the small opening a little too big so it ruined the “image” on the tracing paper. The
small opening caused the images look extremely blurry.
- The peep hole is was way too big. I tried to small it smaller by using cardboard to make it easi-
er to use my phone camera to block out the light. It ended up working well.
- I ended up deciding to make a new model since the opening was still too big.
Camera Obscura - Sketch Model 2
“The camera obscura to those unacquainted with it has a magical effect- the
movement of persons and animals and the waving of foliage, the coming and
going of ships being bought into the picture with the vivid colouring of nature
and affording high gratification to the observer from the continual changes and
varying effects of light and shade upon the landscape”
Text from the observatory board (until 2015)

Seeing a great piece of art can take you from one
place to another—it can enhance daily life, reflect
our times and, in that sense, change the way you
think and are.

Developed Surface Drawing
This drawing is one plan and 4 elevations, so allocate one to
each member of the group, photograph and roughly
sketch out each, with dimensions measured on (no furniture
to be included. only the architectural elements, windows
doors etc). Finished drawing at 1:1, either hand drawn on
large sheets of paper (pencil/trace) and/or CAD printed.
This will be the base drawing for the printed overlays
