Salam sejahtera para pelajar sekalian,
Terlebih dahulu, ucapan terima kasih kepada pelajar kerana menjadikan Fakulti Sastera dan Sains Sosial

sebagai pilihan untuk menyambung pengajian dan seterusnya ucapan tahniah serta syabas kepada anda kerana berjaya
mendapat tempat di Fakulti Sastera dan Sains Sosial, Universiti Malaya. Sebagai makluman pelajar, Fakulti ini
menawarkan pelbagai program pengajian dalam bidang Sastera dan Sains Sosial dari sebelas (11) Jabatan dan satu (1)
Rancangan. Program pengajian dan kursus yang ditawarkan dirangka khusus untuk memberi pendedahan, pengetahuan
dan kemahiran yang penting untuk menangani hal-hal kemanusiaan dan sains sosial.

Buku panduan ini mengandungi maklumat terperinci tentang struktur kursus, kandungan maklumat kursus
serta panduan yang penting untuk membantu pelajar mengikuti program pengajian di Fakulti ini. Pelajar diminta
meneliti buku ini sebaik mungkin agar pelajar dapat memenuhi keperluan pengajian dan pengetahuan yang telah
ditetapkan.

Akhir sekali, saya mengucapkan syabas sekali lagi dan diharap pelajar akan menggunakan peluang di Fakulti

MAKLUMAT AM

1. PENDAHULUAN
Maklumat Am ini hanya terpakai untuk pelajar kemasukan Sesi 2016/2017 sahaja. Buku
ini hendaklah digunapakai sepanjang tempoh pengajian pelajar. Pelajar kemasukan
sebelum Sesi 2016/2017 hendaklah merujuk Buku Panduan sesi kemasukan masing-masing.

2. PENDAFTARAN
(1) Tempoh minimum bagi menyempurnakan sesuatu pengajian ijazah ialah tujuh (7)
semester dan tempoh maksimum pengajian adalah sebelas (11) semester. Nilai
kredit yang boleh diambil oleh pelajar baru adalah tidak melebihi lapan belas (18)
kredit pada semester permulaan.
(2) Selepas Semester I, Sesi 2016/2017 pelajar dibenarkan mendaftar kursus lebih
daripada dua puluh (20) kredit, tetapi tidak melebihi dua puluh dua (22) kredit
pada mana-mana Semester Biasa selepas semester permulaan pengajiannya
tertakluk kepada pelajar memohon dan mendapat kelulusan Dekan Fakulti.
(3) Semua pendaftaran kursus adalah berdasarkan kursus-kursus yang ditawarkan
pada semester berkenaan dan bilangan pelajar adalah tertakluk kepada
kekosongan tempat bagi kursus berkenaan.
(4) Had kredit bagi pelajar di bawah pemerhatian ialah dua belas (12) kredit.
(5) Bilangan kredit minimum pada Semester Biasa yang boleh didaftarkan adalah
enam (6) kredit. Pendaftaran kurang dari 6 kredit perlu mendapat kelulusan Dekan
Fakulti.
(6) Pelajar Tahap Pertengahan yang bertujuan untuk menyempurnakan pengajian bagi
pengijazahan pada semester berkenaan boleh memohon kepada Dekan Fakulti
program pengajiannya untuk mendaftar melebihi dua puluh dua (22) kredit dalam
sesuatu Semester Biasa atau melebihi sembilan (9) kredit bagi Semester Khas
sekiranya memenuhi syarat-syarat berikut :
(a) Bukan dalam tempoh pemerhatian akademik pada semester berkenaan;
dan
(b) Mempunyai PNGK tidak kurang daripada 3.00 pada semester sebelum
pendaftaran berkenaan.
(7) Pelajar Tahap Akhir boleh memohon secara rasmi kepada Dekan Fakulti program
pengajiannya untuk diberi kelonggaran mendaftar melebihi dua puluh dua (22)
kredit dalam sesuatu Semester Biasa bagi tujuan pengijazahan pada semester
berkenaan.

6. PENASIHAT AKADEMIK
(1) Penasihat Akademik dilantik untuk menasihati pelajar dalam memahami dan
memenuhi keperluan-keperluan kurikulum pengajiannya.
(2) Setiap pelajar akan diperuntukkan oleh Jabatan/Rancangan dengan seorang
Penasihat Akademik mengikut program pengajiannya dan mestilah berjumpa
dengan Penasihat Akademik masing-masing sekurang-kurangnya satu kali pada
setiap semester.
(3) Pelajar boleh mendapatkan Penasihat Akademiknya sendiri atas persetujuan
