Beginnings are important The laws of the Parah Adumah are spoken about in this weeks Parsha, "you shall give it to Elazar the Kohen, he shall take it outside the camp and someone shall slaughter it in his presence" (Bamidbar 19:3)
The Parah Adumah required slaughtering and burning in order for its ashes to be used for the purification process of one who has been in contact with the dead. The process involved sprinkling water mixed with the ashes over them.
However in today's times we have an absence of the ashes and we will only be able to really purify ourselves when Moshiach comes, may he come speedily in our days!
Targum Yonaton speaks on an interesting idea about the above Pasuk, "and someone shall slaughter it in his presence" when the Kohen slaughters the Parah Adumah, he must first check to make sure that the animal is 100% kosher, that it wasn't suffering from any conditions that would make it unkosher such as bruises, blemishes or disease, but in today's times to know whether an animal is kosher or not we have halacha that we follow.
So here's a contradiction of kashrut, in today's time we rely on halachic authority and back then it was relied on making sure there were none of the 18 physical conditions that could make it not kosher and all were checked.
This was later on discovered that only the first Parah Adumah was checked and later on they were kosher due to halachic authority. Why was it that only the first one needed to be checked and not the rest?
In Bereishis the Torah starts by saying "In the beginning Hashem created heaven and earth" why does it have to starts like that, obviously it was in the beginning there was nothing before it,In the beginning it was created and to create anything it has to start with a physical active input. (Source- a friend)
Beginnings are very important, any time someone does something for the first time it sets a tone for all other times to come (source- Rabbi Yissochar Frand, Torah.org)
We have beginnings everyday, every morning when we wake up is a new beginning, starting the day off with Modeh Ami sets a tone of gratitude, for us to know that the day ahead is ours but thankful to Hashem for giving us all that we have to create the day ahead. Every new second and minute we have the power to mold it into what we want it to be, we should never stop and wait to do something or change something. It's all about taking a stand, changing perception and even the spontaneous actions, act on your thoughts and ideas because you can only learn from them, always start with positivity, start with enthusiasm and start always with your best foot forward as you have the power to set the tone for everything onwards

A Vort in short mta 2018
The Nachash and The Saraf Adapted From Rav David Silberg
The beginning of Perek כא speaks about Bnei Yisrael’s complaints about a lack of food and water. In response to this, G-d punishes the nation by unleashing “fiery serpants” on the nation. A large number of people die due to the plague and Am Yisrael plead for Moshe to pray on their behalf. In response to Moshe’s prayers, G-d instructs him to construct an image of a saraf- a kind of serpent. The Torah then goes on to say that Moshe designed an image of a nachash (a snake) and the bitten were healed when they gazed upon the sculpture.
Why does G-d instruct Moshe to make an image of a saraf, if it were the nachashim that were killing the people at the time? Furthermore, why then does Moshe choose to sculpt a nachash rather that a saraf, despite being commanded to do the latter?
Rabbeinu Efrayim, a talmid of Rabeinu Tam, suggests that G-d chooses to avoid using of the word nachash in order to prevent Moshe from being reminded of his previous mistakes: At the burning bush, when Moshe is chosen to lead Am Yisrael to freedom, he initially refuses. However, G-d momentarily transforms his staff into a snake which convinces him to take up the mantle as leader of the Jewish people (Shemot 4:3). Moreover, when the leader fails to circumcise his son, he is nearly killed by a snake (Shemot 4:24-25; see Rashi). For Moshe, snakes have become a metaphor for the painful shortcomings in his life. When G-d chooses to use the word saraf , he understands that G-d truly intends for him to make a nachash, and he acts accordingly.
There are a number of lessons to be learnt from Hashem’s kindness towards Moshe. The first, is that we ourselves must never forget our past mistakes. Rambam, in his Hilchot Teshuva (2:8) speaks about our obligation on Yom Kippur to confess not only our sins over the past year, but our sins for years beforehand. He learns this out from David Hamelech, who proclaims after his sin with Batsheva that “chatati negdi tamid” ( my sin is in front of me, always.)
Although it is the responsibility of the sinner to remember his transgression of the past, it does not mean that others should also. The second lesson learnt from G-d’s chessed is that nobody deserves to be governed by his previous wrongdoings, and everybody deserves to be forgiven. Hashem goes to such lengths in order to avoid embarrassing Moshe, so much so that he won’t even mention a single word which reminds him of his previous failings. So why don’t we do the same for others? We, as human beings, are not perfect. We must learn to forgive others mistakes, and our own.
Shabbat Shalom

Operation Crate
On June 21, 1972, Israeli commando unit Sayeret Matkal participated in an operation to kidnap 5 Syrian intelligence officers so they will serve as bargaining chips in the release of 3 Israeli airmen that were kidnapped by the Syrians in April of that year.
The operation succeeded only in the 3rd attempt as the Israeli force was discovered while waiting for the officers' convoy in the first two times.
In the end, a prisoner exchange deal was carried out - the three Israeli airmen were returned to Israel and in exchange Israel released the Syrian prisoners captured in the operation and 41 additional Syrian prisoners. Fun fact - Bibi Netanyahu and both of his brothers (Yoni and Ido) took part in this operation!

Israel "אור לגויים" – In Africa???
Israel is known worldwide as a high-tech and innovation powerhouse, with an emphasis on energy,
water and agriculture developments. In recent years, Israel has begun to use these developments as a basis for establishing diplomatic relations with various countries, particularly with African countries that usually tended to vote against Israel in the UN.
This month, the Israeli effort bore fruit: About a year after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's visit to the ECOWAS Conference (Organization of 15 West African countries),
an agreement was signed to design and establish an energy system between the West African Association and the Israeli company GigaWatt Global. The project involves the construction of alternative energy projects that cross borders in the West Africa region and estimated at a cost of about 1 billion dollars.
The goal is not only to connect Africa to electricity, but to improve the quality of life for the residents of those countries in the hope of removing them from the cycle of poverty and strengthen the African economy.
