The Craig and Galen Brown Foundation

Houston, TX. 77041

Dear Craig and Galen Brown Scholars, Parents and Friends,
The Craig and Galen Brown Scholar program at Texas A&M University has grown significantly
since its inception in 1992. The first year scholar class included 4 students and we currently have
120 Brown Foundation Scholars.
The Brown Scholars have fulfilled and exceeded the dreams of Craig and Galen Brown, founders
of the Brown Foundation. They wanted to provide financial assistance to those students with
outstanding moral character, work ethic, and exceptional scholastic and leadership abilities. These
students recognize the importance and value of being personally involved in the world through
their community, school, charity, and other public and private organizations. Their goal was to
enable such students to maximize their potential to touch people in a positive, constructive, and
everlasting way.
Brown Foundation Scholars have a passion to develop both their people skills and academic
abilities to the highest degree possible. Their goal in life is to “make a difference” in the lives of
others. Brown Scholars understand the Brown Foundation’s definition of a successful life, “It’s not
what you take with you, but what you leave behind that counts.”
We are very proud of all of the Brown Foundation Scholars are sincerely appreciative of their
efforts to make a difference in our world.
Regards,
Craig C. Brown ‘75
